Great experience! We were traveling up the Delmarva Peninsula, heading home to Massachusetts, looking for a nice dinner. We read a few reviews, it sounded good, 33 West Ale House did not disappoint! Nice fresh starter salad. Shrimp and Scallop penne a la vodka was wonderful! The penne was al dente!!! A complete miracle as far as Im concerned! I hate mushy pasta! It is a do-or-die issue for me. The shrimp and scallops were seared perfectly, and the sauce was rich and garlicy... a little bit of a different twist on the traditional dish. But it was wonderful. We also had the Greek salad with warm pita bread which was great, and a crab cake sandwich which was chock full of crab meat. All in-all a five-star dinner, for a very reasonable price. We got back on the road and were completely satisfied! Our wait staff was pleasant and helpful. The meal came out of the kitchen quickly. It is not a fancy place but the food is great! Definitely worth the detour!!!

We visited 33 West Ale House and Grill on a recent trip to the Dover, DE area. After scanning multiple websites for local food and beer recommendations, we stopped here for some liquid dessert. This place did NOT disappoint. I was floored to find 15 unique beers that I never tried before. As someone who always tries new beers (thanks Untappd), that was an incredible find. Big thank you to the staff for that selection and to the bartenders for keeping the flights flowing. Would definitely visit again for beer--and probably try the food next time, too!

Food: Excellent taste! Service: Friendly (waitress and cook staff) Hostess: (red haired, middle aged woman) Unpleasant, she was very abrupt with me when I was at the entrance. I had begun to look at a menu for lunch and she walked over an snatched it out of my hand. I said "I was looking at that" and she said " thats MY job" (referring to handing out menus) That poor, negative attitude is a horrible reflection on the business.

Score 3 being best: Food 3, Service 3, Decor 2.6 (round it to a 3) Never knew this place existed but glad I found it tonight. Good selection independent beer and clean taps. Food was great I had the Green Chili Burger and my friend had the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf and was also very impressed with his dish. Really good atmosphere for Dover and I plan on coming here more often.

Good beer selection. The food braised short ribs as a main entree was excellent, and seems to be their specialty. The short ribs are also available in a pasta dish, and on a burger. My only complaint was they are busy, and the cold air rushing in every time some one came and went was definitely annoying, and I wasnt even close to the door.

By far one of the best restaurants in the Dover area. Its a small place that gets a little cramped when busy, but its worth it for the food alone. Also a great drink selection and a good staff. Would definitely go back again.

Excellent lunch options and fast turnaround. I enjoyed the flatbread pizza recently and a few weeks ago had a salmon salad special which was perfectly cooked and came with a good dressing. Friendly service, decent prices.
