My girlfriend and I used to enjoy getting this once in a while as a quick take out after a long day. However on 11/12/2014 we ordered some beef with broccoli and boneless spare ribs for takeout with some wanton soup. We picked it up ten minutes after we called. When we got home we opened the bag and everything seemed fine, we had our soup first. When it came time to open our meal I noticed an odd smell coming from the boneless spare ribs. Thinking I must just be tired and thinking things and smelling things. I tasted one and it had a horrible taste, probably the worst thing I have tasted and my girlfriend said the same thing. I do not know why I even tried a small piece. The smell was that of rancid meat and a rotting taste. It was obvious that either they were using old meat or that someone did not pick up their order earlier in the day and they decided to re use the stuff. Something was wrong and the smell of rotting meat is not something that you can shake off quickly. I called Highland Garden and I told the lady who answers the phone. She said "That is not possible, I just made two other orders, always fresh". She was playing the dumb card. We obviously did not eat the beef and broccoli either. So we wasted about 18 dollars all said and done with tip and the take out chinese place was of no help. I would suggest nobody eat here if they are willing to put obvious spoiled food in a container then who knows what else they are doing.

Every time I go here and ask for duck sauce or napkins they always skimp me. When I ask for more they actually tell me no. If you do decide to eat at one of the two tables they have they will not provide anything to eat on and only give you three thin napkins.

I love going to Highland garden, they have the best Chinese food and amazing staff. No matter what I get it is always juicy and full of flavor. I highly recommend Highland Garden if you are in the Town Plot/Waterbury area!

This is a great restaurant! The food is always fresh and it is full of flavor. The prices are very reasonable. Food delivered to the house arrives hot and steaming.

The VERY BEST roast pork egg rolls ive ever had, and if you like sweet beef teriyaki you cant find better, this is the only Chinese place I eat.
