It has better than average food for a diner, and the service is pretty good; the wait staff is kind and accommodating (at least to your face) and they make the customers feel welcomed. HOWEVER, I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING, AS I REALIZED I WAS BEING SIGNIFICANTLY OVERCHARGED FOR EVERYTHING ON THE MENU. Since I realized, I told several other customers and they all noticed the same trend, and they also wont be returning. If the owners - who act very warm and friendly but are very dishonest - want to charge more for their food, they should just be honest about the prices, and not intentionally rip off loyal customers, as I once was. As good as the food can be, Ill never go back based on principle. Bring a calculator and check your bill; I can forgive a mistake, but intentionally stealing my money is not okay.

BEWARE: 4 cups of orange juice totals to around 16 dollars! The waitress there ASKED if we wanted refills on our juice, not telling us there would would be a 4 dollar charge to fill up HALF the cup. When I asked about the bill the waitress told me I was paying for the "convenience of a diner". Next time I will bring my own beverages IF I choose to return. For 3 teens, the bill came to 53 dollars for half descent food. On another note: the pancakes and bacon were under done. Unless you want to break your bank and want horrible customer service; you will do your self a favor and choose to eat at ihop or friendlies.

This place is more than a Diner. The food is seasonally amazing! The Goulash, Shepard pie, Lasagna, Soups, Fish, everything I had was great. We eat here a few times a week. The portions are generous so the value is amazing. The family that runs this restaurant are amazing people. They treat you like family from the second you come in the door. Our town of Bethany is Blessed to have them here. I hope you are here for Many years to come.

What can you say about the best dinning around in connecticut. Personally I have been enjoying their wonderful food for about 10 years. When I am even close to there location I make it a point to stop in for the wonderful atmosphere and dinning varities and not to mention the home cooked meals. I encourage everyone to take the time to experience the Country Diner.

The food is amazing, very high quality food and I honestly feel like I get more than what I pay for. The servings are huge, overflowing even, there is large variety of food options and wonderful unique daily specials, the kids have a nice variety in the childrens menus, too. Its my familys favorite place to go.

I got chicken parmesan and a mimosa, which was actually really good. Everything is made from scratch, including their chicken noodle soup. You cant go wrong with anything you get there. The only thing I would point out are the high prices- probably because everything is homemade.

My family and i have been going to this diner at least once every two weeks for at least 2 years now. They offer probably 20 delicious, different, fresh specials daily, great breakfast, great sandwiches, great soups and great home feel. Everything a diner should be.

Friendliest family owned restaurant!!! We ordered a large tray of baked ravioli and eggplant parm for a party. Prices were great and everybody raved about how delicious the food was. Also, they have an enormous menu to choose from. Highly recommend.
