99 is one of my all time favorite restaurants. So why would I give it 4 stars instead of 5?? Well no one is perfect through probably over 100 visits. First the good stuff. The food is always consistently very good. I mostly stick to the burgers but have had the steak tips, lobster rolls, fettuccine Alfredo, fried seafood combos, Cesar salads, prime rib and plenty more. The burgers have gotten so much better over the years too, to the point theyve become the best ones around. Just big, cooked to order perfect every time, and great selection of toppings. The trivia they do on Thursday nights is fun too, but havent been able to do that in forever because of work :(. Lastly to the few instances Ive had problems there management seems extremely quick to fix any issue and always takes something off the bill if what was ordered was unsatisfactory. This happened to me or someone I was with maybe 4 times total out of over 100 visits so a perfect track record in my opinion. Now my negatives and why Im down a star on them. Beer on tap selection could be better. I prefer IPAs and they are weak in this department although its not always been the case. French fries used to be better, crunchier, now theyre a little under cooked and the portions have gotten consistently smaller over the years. Lastly the lobster rolls used to be absolutely killer, just the best around. Their current offering doesnt cut it in comparison. They made the lobster roll much smaller, and more expensive, but added a tiny cup of chowder. If they fixed those 3 easy things theyre back up to 5 for me. Still love em anyways. Oh and people cheat like crazy with their smart phones on trivia night, they should pay more attention to that considering gift certs, essentially a cash prize is involved in winning.

Last evening, the 30th of August, I met two friends at the 99 in Vernon, CT. One person was late, but we were seated anyway, in a large booth. While waiting for party #3, Joshua introduced himself as our waiter, and asked about drinks, which he got promptly. He asked if we wanted to wait for the 3rd person, which we did. He checked back often until she came, then immediately took her drink order and asked about ordering of food. Since we "gals" hadnt seen each other in ages, he was very patient with our chatting and our delay of ordering. His sense of humor, his enthusiasm, his kindness and politeness..................they all followed him through the evening, even though at time all of us were confused about orders, drinks, bills...................If there was a gold medal in the Olympics for waitstaff, Joshua has certainly earned one. Oh, and the food was excellent. Thank you, 99, for hiring such a professional yet fun waiter!!!

Specifically asked server questions about food prior to ordering ("is the chicken boneless?"). She "checked with the chefs" and confirmed it was boneless. When it came with bones 45 min later she blamed the kitchen and then brought her manager over....their response was basically "oh...sorry for the confusion...well what do you want us to do, though?" Took FOREVER (2 hours) to get seated, place order and eat. It was NOT busy, so none of this should happen. Food was "meh" once it finally arrived. Server was incredibly nice but extremely forgetful...hopefully we just caught them on an off day but this was BAD.

Terrible!! I was yesterday with my friend to treat her and waitress Joshua, very stupid and non professional inserted three digits on back of my card not correct while was charging money and transaction got declined! Management has to train better! their stuff, other way you guys , as a company need to apologize to customer in this situation and do not make customer feel guilty for no reason! shame!! on your management, Josua IS A KID who happened to be not to sharp.

We went to the one in Rutland Vermont, but it is a franchise, so they are all comparable. Thursday nights they have wings for fifty cents each. I ordered 10, and they were so plump and meaty, I only ate 5. I like regular wings with the bone and super HOT. I also had an Absolute, spicy Bloody Mary that was perfect! Wings and Bloody Marys was just what I was hoping for. The service was fantastic and our waitress was super personable. Off to the "99" in Vernon, today. Going for the calamari I saw the last time.

The food was terrible. My partner and I both ordered the ribs with chicken tenders. The tenders were dry, the French fries were fluffy yet somehow still dry, and Im fairly certain that the cut of meat I was given was not a rib. The coleslaw tasted like cheap grocery store slaw. For the amount they charge, we will not be eating here again. Its only saving grace was the popcorn. Our waitress was also very sweet.

Here from Pennsylvania on a business trip and tried 99 restaurant at 9:50 at night knowing, they closed at 11:00. Not expecting a whole lot but, WOW!! Great service and the menu, which is quite large, was fantastic!! Definitely recommend 99 restaurant & pub to anyone who hasnt been there. You wont be disappointed!!

The hot buttered lobster roll combo wasnt quite worth the $19 price tag. Despite coming with a small portion of clam chowder, value suffered as the lobster was rather bland, and sand was found in the fries. The friendly server and popcorn which was given during the wait were the two upsides of the restaurant.

The hostess was rude when I had asked when we would be seated then hen e had an add on the waiter rolled her eyes and made a big point that the cap of people to have in a big group in 7 and I had 9. I ordered the big pasta with meatballs and my garlic bread was hard as a rock

We travel to this particular location when we visit friends in CT. The bartender always remembers us and our drinks even though we rarely go. The food is good, and all of the staff is very friendly. Right off the highway, convenient. Great branch!

99 Restaurant changed up its look, more airy, better mix and mingle bar area. Better lighting, improvements looked great. Several new big screen tvs, good viewing. Food selection still pales, but taste is good for the price.

I love the food here. I hate the people who work there. I get terrible service. One waitress asked if we wanted anything else and before we could reply she walked away. I found this very rude. Thats all.

Food was good. dining area very dirty, and it wasnt a very busy time. Build up of dust and cobwebs on light fixtures, menus filthy, window sill dusty and crumb covered, condiments sticky, just gross.
