Wish I could post a minus 10. The absolute worst. Previously went for the Thanksgiving 2014 dinner. They had a special menu. Wasnt really bad, but not great, and the wait was very very long, but it was crowded and attributed wait to that. Booked for Thanksgiving 2015 dinner. Again, a special menu of about eight items including traditional turkey dinner. Reservations taken from noon til about 5-5:30 pm. Our reservation: 1:30 pm. Restaurant less than half as full as previous year (now I know why). Wanted Turkey dinner: they RAN OUT OF TURKEY; all gone. At 1:30 pm! Three of us went for prime rib, for $27. Horrible. Im not an avid beef eater, but my husband and son are, and both said it was the worst they ever had. So it wasnt just me. Every entrée on the Thanksgiving menu came with mashed sweet potatoes. None of us like that. Asked for regular mashed potatoes, told not offered/available, but if we wanted to wait even longer, they could give us a baked potato. Ok. Microwaved! Horrible, horrible. Not one apology. Not one comp offered. Again, a long, long wait for everything from drinks to dinner and the dining room was very empty. Out of some desserts on the menu. When we had coffee after dinner, the waitress said "who wants a shot?" We asked, for free?, thinking, finally a comp, but dont think my 80+ year old dad will want one. Waitress was horrified; of course you have to pay. My elderly father (ordered fish, said very good) and his friend (veggie dish; awful), never got their T-giving dinner. They drove to New Hampshire to relatives house the next day and had left over Turkey sandwiches which they said were heaven. We split the bill. For three people, the bill was $190 with tip (had two drinks each), and we went home and had tuna sandwiches. Didnt even bother to take leftovers home. I did also notice that by the time we left, at 3pm, there were maybe three tables inhabited. I saw that one table of about 10 people were served three prime ribs and the other seven rather nasty large bowls of bland pasta with tomato sauce (not even on the menu). Happy Thanksgiving Family. Never, ever again. BTW, if you read reviews, the one shining star is the waiter Joey. We have known him for years, since he worked at another local restaurant. He is wonderful. He wasnt our waiter either time, but want people to know this is no reflection on his abilities.

Well. I am a chef of 30 years worked across the street in the early 90s...I came in an was astounded by the transformation from 22 years ago ...the new interior is great and worth 5 stats or more to what it was...I know better and came in in between. Rush hours to experience the tru restaurant...the donner i ordered a fish sandwich...with onion rings...the fish was fresh the onion rings were boght but great quality..the pickles were fantastic...sorry worked at Ryans Deli I know my pickles...the horsradish sauce was a little thick..allright...the tar tar sauce was good ..what its suppose to taste like...i also asked another waitress not my own for somthing...that i did not like..they seemed to ignore me...right after i got there attention my waitress came back and brought it ...the others...never showed...in the business waitress.bartender.and chef...i would still give this place 5 stars...i would only ask that you ask for melissa as a server...even if you have to wait..or Joey....to have a 5 star sevice and dinner is worth the wait....I will come again to try more and post...I do not put one dinner as wjat they are...But I know when I come I will ask for one of these two and wait..or come early to request....to ensure that I get my moneys worth..so I will give 5 and I pray the next visit also

Lakeview Restaurant is on the lake in Coventry Conn. They offer Italian, Seafood, Steak, Pizza, Sandwiches & Burgers. They have an outdoor deck overlooking the lake. They have a large bar, and big screen TV. When we first arrived we were happy to be reunited with our favorite waiter, Joey from Coventry Pizza, who we had not seen in 3 years. We sat in a booth overlooking the lake. I got the Rib Eye Steak Sandwich topped with a delicious combination of sauteed onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. The Steak Fries were the way I like them; hot and crispy golden brown. Liz got the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo served over Linguini. I sampled some, both the chicken and white sauce were very tasty. The portion was very generous, we took half of it home. Joey, our server, was very attentive & friendly. Leo, the manager, thanked us as we were leaving and was very friendly with us. Next time we try an appetizer; Chicken Wings, Fried Calamari, Stuffed Mushrooms, Sweet Potato Fries, Shrimp, Smelts in a Basket. Then split an Antipasto Salad, or Baked Lasagna.

I have eaten dinner at the Lakeview and have been treated well and had good food each and every time. I had to shake my head while reading some of the negative reviews. I have had three diferent servers and two were good and one, Joey, was excellent. Only one time was the service a little slow and that Mothers Day and the place was jammed. We were still adequately served and our requests were tended to in a reasonably timely manner. I have had mostly seafood and it was fresh and portions were ample. I have to guess that all of the negativity comes from competitors that are losing business. I sat outside with four of my friends for a sunny lunch earlier this week. Everything was perfect. It was my turn to pick the place and I was nervous that my buddies might not feel as warmly as I do about the place. One of the guys is quite wealthy and dines at many fine places. He and everybody else loved their lunch. Joey was actually running to give quick service. The guys loved it.

My fiance and I went there last night. Our food was absolutely terrible. I got a grinder and she got Lasagna and they both had a "fishy" taste if you know what I mean. Hers just tasted like the ground meat and mine smelled nasty therefore unappetizing after I took a couple bites. Im not one to complain and Ill actually eat food even if its not that great tasting, but this was just unbearable. In addition our waitress was terrible....we asked for a couple extra napkins but she never came....also she never came by to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else, etc. And to top it all off....[drum roll]......they increased the tip that I left them!! I only left them ~10% tip which I thought was VERY generous for the disgusting food and terrible service, yet when I got my CC alert, it said I got charged for more than I signed for! Im calling them tomorrow to dispute it. Anyways, I said all that to say this: Dont ever, ever go here.

Please dont ever go here! We were there today two women and our families. The wait staff was beyond rude. We ordered salad and wings when the bill came it was over 200 dollars - the kids had soda and the refills were not free. I was trying to explain to the owner then I didnt mind paying but when you see lots of kids you might want to warn parents that the refills are not free they are 3.00 each. When the owner started to call me a b*tch and other words that should not be said on front of kids. I was scared and the kids were crying. I have never been treated like that before if my Husband was with me this would not have happened. This was a rude business owner taking advantage of womens alone. Also he told me he did not care if I came in ever again because soon it would be cold and nobody comes to sit on the deck in the cold. He scared me and my kids! Im still upset and scared.
