Frist may I say you made our DAY, 38TH Wedding anniversary. It all started when my wife wanted Prim Rib, so I looked on the Internet for the Best places to go and also asked on my Facebook for suggestions, witch where many. I found the White Horse on the internet asking for the Best Prime Rib. I called and asked if it was being served that day it was around 1:30 pm and the girl said yes ,i asked what time for dinner and she replied Now is ok . Off we went from Seymour to arrive there at 3pm.We where given a Lunch Menu witch was find but right then in there I knew we where in trouble. For sure the waitress replied Prime Rib will be at 5pm dinner. Well we got a SO SORRY,our faces showed the rest for sure.Well we had to just make the best of the day so we asked for the Pitcher of Peach Sangria and began to sip away.....and browse the lunch menu. Continuing to sip away at this delicious sangria my I add. Upon witch came 4pm with a fantastic view of the stream, and we asked for an appetizer of Crispy Calamari witch was excellent with a spicy tomato sauce. Finishing the rest of our Sangria we ordered a bottle of Pino to finish our Calamari. Well..well..its 4:30pm .....We then said sip our way to 5pm..lol and ask for the Prim Rib. We did and it was fabulous, the best we have Had in a long time The Yorkshire Pudding was outstanding and not on many menus if at all. We finished with two deserts only because it was our Anniversary of Key lime pie and caramel pecan pie. .WOW...then sent the Chef a Whiskey of his choice. The Good and the Bad was.......Bad first...Told wrong on Dinner time, the Chef could have at least come out to say something, He knew we where there sense 3pm because the waitress told him so, he even checked the prime and said we would have to wait until 5pm that said......the GOOD ! the afternoon turned out to be the Best Prime Rib Ever and the Sangria was outstandingly refreshing. Excellent ! Thank You Joe& Rita ps this was Friday 4/5/13

I have been to the White Horse numerous times and usually came away with nothing but to complain about. My last visit however was bad enough to make me want to never return. Let me preface this by saying that I have been in the restaurant business for the better part of 20 years and am very, very reluctant to complain of be critical as I know the pressure and hectic nature of the industry. When we arrived we were told the wait would be 10-15 minutes, no problem. We spent 45 minutes waiting, not once being acknowledged by the hostess. We were eventually seated inside, although I had very clearly stated I would like to dine on the patio and was willing to wait, which was my justification for the extended wait. Our waitress arrived roughly 20 seconds after we had sat down and almost demanded that we place our order, not noticing that we had not even been given menus. She returned with the menus, however did not offer us drinks. We were then given ample time to look at the menu, about 15 minutes. Once our order was placed the food arrived remarkably fast. I had order a Kobe burger RARE. If there is a temperature that comes after well-done, my food had surpassed that. I took one small bite and then left it untouched waiting for the waitresses return to hopefully fix the problem. Enough time passed for my girlfriend to finish her meal in its entirety, and upon returning rather that question why I had not eaten any portion of my food, our server simply took our plates and offered dessert, not thinking to question why I would spend $15 on a hamburger and not eat any part of it. No credit was given for the food, we were charged for drinks we never ordered, and by this point I was too upset to even complain. I wil not be returning anytime soon, if ever.

We have eaten here with friends and family several times since they first opened. We continue to come back because we love the atmosphere - it is modeled after an old English pub/tavern with cool antiques throughout - like a rare 1920s motorcycle hanging over the bar. We also really like the food, although the service has been spotty in the past. On a couple occasions our food was served to us while our companions had to wait a good ten minutes for their meals. They need to time this better in the kitchen but I think, overall, its a great place to go and Im sure theyre getting this right because theyve been open over a year now. This place seems to be busy much of the time. Our best service experiences have been at off-hours; maybe between 2-to-6pm. The servers are more attentive, refill your water glass without you having to ask, and entrees come out of the kitchen at the same time. I am not complaining, however. I worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade so I guess I just cant help but be picky about service and how it should be. We do really like this place and will continue to come back. Their burgers are excellent, theres traditional pub fare like Sheperds Pie, Fish & Chips, Guiness Stew; they have great wines-by-the-glass for $6, and the Chicken Crepes on the lunch menu are phenomenal. There are a lot of creative entree salads, fish entrees, appetizers; a wide variety, really. For dessert you have to try the Banofi Pie: a melt-in-in-your-mouth graham cracker-like crust with layers of smooth, creamy toffee, bananas, and fresh whipped cream (if, like me, you didnt like banana desserts, trust me that you will change your mind with the Banofi Pie).

Ate here about three weeks ago on a Saturday Evening. The place was mobbed, but the hostess found seating at a small table in the bar area. Both my buddy and I ordered the lobster pie, which we agreed was very good, except his was light on lobster meat, while mine had a generous portion of it. Wait staff was very good despite being a very busy night. I bragged about the place to my son, so the following Saturday afternoon (Labor Day Weekend) , we rode out there on our motorcycles, he with his wife. TOTALLY different experience! It was like a different restaurant! The wait staff was still very attentive without hovering, so I made sure to leave him a good tip. The meal, however, was terrible. My son and I both ordered bacon cheeseburgers with mushrooms. We were asked how we wanted them prepared, and we each said "medium" which I thought meant pink in the middle. They came out practically incinerated, on a very dry roll, and the mushrooms were almost unrecognizable they were so over cooked. My daughter in law ordered an open face ham sandwich with honey mustard. She had to ask three times for the mustard (did I say the wait staff was attentive?) The ham slice on the sandwich was SO dried out that it was only about 1/16 of an inch thick, and she had trouble cutting it with her knife. I usually will give a "Mulligan" to any eating establishment, but this is an exception to that rule. We WONT be returning! It was THAT bad!
