My friends and I decided to try Zaroka a few months ago after passing by while being out downtown. Weve been back a handful of times since then, and every occasion has been stellar. One thing that I found helpful was that the server was willing to accommodate level of heat for each individual plate. My boyfriend is Indian and he loves hot food and was able to customize his dish to fit his taste. Weve ordered lamb vindaloo, chicken vindaloo, chicken briyani, and all sorts of appetizers over the various times we have eaten there. My boyfriend even got a special lamb dish not on the menu. Everything was delicious. We even ordered for delivery one day, and take out was just as good. I would recommend Zaroka to anyone wanting Indian food in New Haven.

My husband and I have been here a few times. Took the kids a few times too. Good prices. Small selection, but when you have no idea what you are eating, besides labels, less is more. This last time there was none naan and they brought it fresh to our table :) its city water so drinks are fizzy chlorine, but not totally their fault. Seats are comfortable, staff is friendly. I like the chicken that has a curry tumeric sauce to it. Will always go back. We put 90 mins on the meter and had 53 mins left when we got back. Pretty quick and very filling place to eat.

Best Indian food in town. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Vegetarian friendly. Rom always makes us feel like he is inviting us into his home for dinner when we go there. Weve even joined his family for dinner one night at the restaurant. Even though we dont live in New Haven any more, we still try to visit Zaroka every chance we get. If you havent been there yet, I definitely recommend giving them a try.

I was at a grocery store on Boston post Rd and asked an Asian lady if shes aware of any restaurant that provides North Indian style food. She said there are not many and she mentioned jharokha is there. We went based on that recommendation. Staff is nice but food is no good. Would never go back and would never recommend to anyone. Food was not even close to our expectations.

They have no idea about Indian food. They are serving Nepalese food in the name of indian food. We ordered lamb biryani and they served white rice mixed with lamb curry, no flavor of biryani and too high cost for such food what we prepare everyday at home. They should learn first what is a biryani !!! They can fool Americans but not any sub continental people.

Food is really not so good. We ordered Biriyani and they served a rice and chicken mixed with some peas and all "garam mashala". Thats it. Chilly chicken was also very funny kind of. I want to give only one star for the good, jovial boys who were serving with a warm heart. That was really nice. Please upgrade your food.

This is my favorite traditional Indian restaurant in New Haven. The flavors are rich and the food is clearly prepared with care. The service is excellent as the waiters are both patient and helpful with their suggestions. My table had the lamb kebab and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. Absolutely delicious.

Friendly staff and average Indian food . Pretty clean and interesting interior with a refreshing attention to detail. Bathrooms could use a little more cleaning, especially the doors. Nothing mind blowing taste wise, or at all spicy, but for $10 the buffet was filling and well stocked for a quick lunch.

Zarkoka is by far the best Indian restaurant in New Haven. Their food is fantastic, their waitstaff friendly, and their atmosphere relaxed. I love to take friends and family here when they come to visit, and everyone agrees that it is a wonderful experience all around. Plus they do take-out and delivery!

If youre looking for a buffet without the overly bloaty feeling you get from actually eating buffet, look no further than Zaroka. While its not a wide selection, it is a curated one, featuring great healthy and vegetarian options. Cleanse your pallet after your meal with rice pudding and fruits.

Decent place, decent food. One negative, the portions of the entrees and appetizers seemed considerably lesser compared to other Indian Food places I have eaten so far. Otherwise, a decent place. They shall increase the portion sizes surely. Paneer Kulcha lacked adequate stuffing as well.

I visited this place on the very recommendation of google reviews.. and boy o boy.. this place was wonderful. I loved the Tandoori chicken they served me. The food was fresh and tasty. Along wiht Haveli Restaurant in middletown this is the place you want to be for Authentic Indian food

the worst indian food I have eaten in US. food has got no taste, no spice, so bland. buffet was not worth it. While paying the bill I was giving my credit card, the guy tells me we prefer cash. So disappointed.

the lunch buffet is good food at a decent price. the ambiance is cozy and relaxed. staff is very friendly and attentive, but can be a bit slow at replenishment of buffet food, like bread and sauces.
