Tengda Asian Bistro & Hibachi – Milford, CT – 2/26/2016 Who doesn’t love a good hibachi place?! Unfortunately this restaurant has not yet discovered the convenience of OpenTable online booking however it was fairly simple to make a reservation by simply making the phone call. The parking is sketchy because they’re located in the mall. I had to drive around a couple of times before a parking space opened up This would be this month’s venue for our monthly guys night out group. Although we did make reservations based on them not knowing exactly how long people are going to be at the hibachi station it’s not an exact science. We did have to wait a little bit for our table. If there’s one bit of advice I could offer this restaurant, it would be to slow down… It seemed like they were trying to rush us through the whole process. That’s not how I like the dine. I had to tell the hibachi chef to come back in 15 minutes so that we can enjoy the appetizers, soups & salads that were brought out at the same time. Who does this?! You’re supposed to bring out one course at a time with a small pause between… The salmon sushi, beef kebabs, chicken kebabs were awesome. The salad though not much to look at was quite tasty as well. Loooove the ginger dressing! And as far as the miso soup…, It’s hard to screw that one up…, it was good as well. For my main course I usually get fillet and lobster… And like all the previous times this one was incredibly delicious… Our hibachi chef was quite the entertaining… So all in all I’d say we had a wonderful time. There were eight of us and we will definitely go back. When you go, unless you like being rushed through dinner I would tell the chef upfront to slow the pace down and you’ll have a more enjoyable evening.

this is a really special place. great food in itself, but if youre coming here, youre coming here for the hibachi grill. for those who dont know: its more than a just dinner - its an interactive performance. the chef will come to your table, take your orders, and prepare it right in front of you, with thrilling gusto. these guy epitomize the phrase "play with your food." get ready for flame volcanoes made out of onions, little tidbits thrown for you to catch in your mouth, knife routines, and more. fantastic place to come with either friends or alone, since youre seated in groups of about 8 anyway. you have to try it at least once.

Horrible Experience .... we had reservations for 6:30 to celebrate 2 birthdays ... we were seated and thats were the service ended ... only half our table received water ... at about 7:15 I walked up to the front desk to ask for a waiter or waitress ... we continued to wait ... at 7:45 our children were crying because they were hungry so we decided to go to another restaurant and we walked out ... we went to Hayama where we were seated and served right away!! We will NEVER go back to Tengda ever again.

I would give this place 3.5 stars based on the food; however Ill never come here again. When paying the bill the waitress came to tell us that the manager had said this restaurantscom certificate (coupon) was a scam (Ive used the certificates at other places). I told her that Tengda had signed up for restaurantscom and that it wasnt a scam. I had put the certificate discreetly when paying, this situation caused me a lot of embarrassment in front of family.

I do like the ambiance and the sushi!. Wasnt a fan of hibachi. served us rice, we waited 10 mins for meat, then we waited 10 mins for veggies, would have liked some of the entrees together. The rice was cold by the time my chicken came. The chicken was so overcooked. Fried ice cream was served with vodka poured over it to make a fire. I appreciated the fire, but not the taste! Tasted bitter! Usually it has Baileys over it, vodka not a good combo.

My husband and I have been to Tengda almost every other week. We absolutely love it there. The Hibachi is very busy so if you are planning on going on a Friday or Saturday night you have to make sure you make reservations and be prepared for it to take a little longer. We have sat at the sushi bar many times and the sushi is amazing. They have a good happy hour also. This would have to be our favorite restaurant right now.

Came in for a reservation at 7:30. They pushed us to 8... Fine, but everyone who came in the building was seated before us and we didnt have a big party (6!). We tried talking to the hostess but kept getting the same line, "were working on it". Didnt get seated for OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF. Whats the purpose of a reservation time?! I drove an hour for a friends birthday and this really just crashed the night.

We went here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and quantity of food. It was fairly quiet as it just opened, but the service was good. We had a tuna sushi roll, which was quite good, tempora shrimp and veggies, which were also good. My wife had the Vietnamese filet steak cubes, also very good, and I had the chili sauce snapper, fantastic! Overall, a very nice dining experience.

I used to love this place. Up until a few months ago, it was always the best tasting, with the freshest fish, . The last 2 times it was horrendous. Fish was old, and tasted foul. This last time, after spending more than $50 for lunch, I had to throw it away. Im done and will not recommend it to any one ever again. One time, stuff happens. Twice, all good things come to an end.

So unbelievably rude. We came to have hibachi and was told a 15-20 minute wait. After checking in 3 times and over an hour later, we were told we should have been seated 20 min prior. But the worst was that because of how they sat people we would have to wait at least another 20 min. They didnt even offer to comp our drinks.

Ordered the spicy mango chicken... ended up with a bowl of 80% undercooked/unripe mango slices and 20% basic chinese chicken... definitely not with 15 dollars for such a small portion of chicken that fit on top of my tiny rice bowl. No I dont want to take more than half a bowl of mango slices to go. Thanks.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! The hostess sat us pretty much right away. We then sat there at the table for 20 MINUTES and no one came to our table at all. We got up and left. Also, the menu is totally different than the other Tengdas in Fairfield County. Not appealing at all.

Nice place they always have problem with reservations. Apparently this is common practice with all hibachi places. They want to actually see peoples faces then they scramble to find you a spot once your there. Food is good you can count on having fun when you go .

I wish I could give it less than 1 star. I went with my girlfriend, and the water she got had old lipstick on the glass (GROSS), and my fork had a stale piece of rice in it. Needless to say, we got up and walked right out, never to return.
