Coventry Pizza is near the lake in Coventry Connecticut. For me to get there it is a pleasant 3 mile ride thru Nathan Hale State Forest. We have been going there for many years, and its always a satisfying experience. The new owner made this a superior restaurant I highly recommend. They have beer, wine, and a full bar. They also have a kid menu. We enjoyed Antipasto Salad on a previous visit, it was great. I also like the Fishermans Platter. They do take-out pizza and grinders. Sit-down can get appetizers, steak, veal, pork, fish, chicken, seafood, burgers, fries, pasta, salads, veggies, and desserts. This time we went on a Friday night. Liz had Veal Cutlet Parmesan, and I had Baked Lasagna. Both had a delicious red tomato sauce and lots of mozzarella. Both had great taste and texture. We will go back for breakfast on weekends. They open 7 am on Saturdays & Sundays. On menu; eggs, home fries, ham, bacon, sausage, omelets, French toast, English muffins, pancakes, & bagels. ------------ Coventry Pizza, review #2 Breakfast review: Liz and I went for breakfast Sunday 11am. Our waitress, Kim, told us about the specials and I was interested in the "Italian Omelette". Liz got blueberry pancakes and bacon, which she loved. My Italian Omelette came with delicious potatoes, and toast (I like my toast dark). Inside the omelette was sausage, onions, peppers, cheddar and provolone cheeses. Reggie is the chef. He says he also puts garlic powder inside, and flips the omelette over at the perfect time to melt all the cheeses properly. After it is in the plate they pour marinara sauce and grated cheese across the top. It was truly amazing. This was the best breakfast I ever got anywhere. I took photos of our dishes (the first time I ever did this).

Its hit or miss and lately they have been missing. They used to have what I considered the best Pizza around but over the last few years its been hit or miss. The service is usually pretty good. There glasses tend to be on the small side so if you have a glass of water you end up with an empty glass fast and it seems hard for waitresses to keep up with it. Ive gone thirsty a few times

I have only eaten the Pizza. It is the best in the area. Plenty of toppings, Lots of cheese, Perfect crunchy crust, Sauce has a good flavor and does not taste like salt eaten cold the next day. Like some pizzas do. The picture of the Pizza on their website is actually what your pizza would look like if you ordered the same toppings.

I live right down the street which is amazing and terrible at the same time. I love the pizza here! Even my out-of-town family and friends have eaten it, and agree. I have yet to eat an entree inside the restaurant, but Ive gotten them to go. I prefer the pizza, but have yet to have a bad meal there.

Good decor, and it felt like a cozy hometown haunt. The food was average, the staff was friendly and the prices reasonable. The restaurant quickly filled while we dined so our drinks ended up staying empty and it took a very long time to get the check while the waiters tried to keep up.

I found the prime rib to be very very good and would go back. I just had a prime rib at another estabilishment and it was more like a grilled steak. I find coventry pizza to have very good pizzas and grinders and the owners are always very friendly and attentive. MaryAnn Stygar

I dont think I would go there again if its even a little busy. Took 50 minutes to get food after placing the order. People waiting for take out standing and waiting for over an hour. Kitchen cant seem to handle the volume. On the slow afternoons in the past, no problem

My family has eaten here, and ordered takeout, many times. Its quite honestly delicious. Whenever my sister comes to visit, we have to have a meal there. : ) The owners are very friendly and the service has always been pleasant Definitely worth it!

Typical rural Greek pizza joint. Beer selection is better than some more rural places Ive been to, but not great. Food is just OK. Pizza quality went down when the old owner left.
