DO NOT COME HERE. I drive past this place daily and we were so excited to try it. We eat authentic mexican all the time and this place seemed very authentic. I read some horrible reviews about the service but decided to give it a shot. Big mistake. The only thing we ever got to eat was salsa and I will admit it was delicious. This place is understaffed and we never really got a waiter. The same lady was answering the phone, working in the kitchen, making drinks, and doing everything else possible. When we tried to order food with her, she said no--the waitress will take your order. Ummmm... the waitress is where? We never were checked on and someone came only once to finally take our order. We ordered appetizers and meals. We asked for more salsa.... didnt get it. After 50 minutes, we never got salsa, appetizers, or food. Nor had we been spoken to in almost an hour! Not only that but we ordered queso! Can it take an hour for queso? I saw other tables order, eat, pay, and leave in the time that we just sat. After an hour, we gave up. We asked for the bill and they refused. How can they refuse? The food still wasnt ready and one lady admitted that she "forgot" to put in the order. Why dont you tell us instead of hiding it? All in all, the service is the worst Ive ever had. Im really sad I have to write this review because I was really excited to potentially have an authentic mexican restaurant down the street. Dont come here. I would never come here again and feel sorry for those that dont read the reviews. Pathetic. And I cant forget--after giving them the money for the paycheck, we were chased out by a lady crying and pleading for us to eat the food. Inappropriate and unprofessional? I think so. Spend your money somewhere else.

I dont know why this restaurant has received bad reviews both here & on Yelp. Really?!? Ive been to - what seems like - 100s of Mexican Restaurants over the years all across NA, and El Meson ranks right up there in the top 25 for what they do, serve quality, affordable, delicious Mexican food at a reasonable price inside a clean, family friendly environment. Check that box! I defy you to find better house-prepared Salsa; it arrives at your table loaded with fresh onions and cilantro. I defy you to find better Mole Sauce thats prepared from scratch using an old family recipe thats been handed down throughout the decades. Bottom line: This restaurant cares. Period! They take pride in serving you the freshest, most authentic Mexican food in CO, and I for one can appreciate that. This is why I continue to place El Meson at the top of my Local List when Im in the mood for Mexican grub. Do yourself a favor, ignore the negative criticisms; perhaps the reviewer(s) had a bad day. Perhaps the restaurant was off their game that particular day.....it happens, but Im telling you, these people take pride in their art and they do a darn good job of making sure you keep coming back. Mole baby!!! Mmmmmmm!!!!

I would give it a 0 if it allowed. The older female waitress was extremely rude to our table, the table next to us and a third table. When asked if they could do an order a la cart the waitress very rudely stated no! No explanation nothing. When that customer refused to order; at the end if our meal she wanted a moment to explain why she said no. The customer stated they didnt want to hear why. The waitress proceeded to argue and stated " well Im going to tell you anyway and you dont have to listen" she was impossible with every table. The food...was horrible!! The Carne Asada that I had tasted like old tough meat that was reheated multiple times. The "sour cream" on the burrito looked like it was cream straight from a carton. ( very runny) the cheese was comparable to the cheese used at Casa Bonita. (kraft singles) the chili didnt have any taste. It was absolutely disgusting. Even though there are limited eating establishments in that immediate area, I/ we will never be going back! Save your money and your taste buds....DONT GO!

Honestly I dont get these bad reviews, I am jist assuming it is people who have never worked in the service industry and find stuff to complain about no matter what. We have been going here for years and not once have we been dissapointed. If you are a friendly person they will treat you extremely well. And their food being sub par? Yeah right, they have the best carnitas I have ever had. And their mole is fantastic too. It is a no frills Mexican joint, dont expect to be waited on hand and foot, that doesnt mean bad service though. And any issues they will always try to make right. As far as understaffing they are usually alright 90 percent of the time with two waiters, but sometimes there are unexpected rushes. Just sit back and enjoy your company while you wait for those delicious carnitas.

I cant remember now how many years my family and I have been coming here. I highly recommend El Meson, everyone that works here have always been very friendly to us and it has a small town feel which we appreciate. The food is great and the salsa is even better. After reading some of these poor reviews and after our experience the bad reviews are hardly believable. We have never experienced any of these complaints, not even close. The public can be very difficult, demanding and unforgiving. Support this business they do a great job!

Save your money, not family friendly at all. My SPD son (7yo) was screamed at for spilling his Coke, I explained I was actually the one that spilled it as I was trying to figure out what the problem was, as he was sobbing and was told I should never come back. We have come together every Wed nite after his therapy appointments for months, my family has come to this location for 10 years. And because I tell you I spilled the coke you argue that he shouldnt be allowed to order fries instead of the beans?

My friends, and I have been going here for years. Its nice and quiet because no one is ever there when we are. We asked for separate checks, as we always do, and we were pretty rudely told we couldnt have separate checks. They dont do them anymore - only if one pays cash. I had a simple cheese quesadilla - four pieces with no sides but some lettuce, salsa, and a bit of guacamole for $10.50. Very disappointing!

Stopped by this place on my way home ... WOW! A hidden gem! I had the Tacos Surtidos, which are 4 small tacos with a taste of each protein, Carnitas, Asada, Chicken, Mahi Mahi. Everything was made fresh to order! It was YUMMY! Oh! And the Chips & Salsa were fresh, homemade and D-LICIOUS!! Ill be back but next time Ill bring my husband! Thank you for a most enjoyable meal!

We have loved this place since they opened! Jugo and his wife work very hard to make the best mexican food in the Highlands Ranch/Littleton areas. Their homemade salsa and greenchili is THE BEST. If you like it hotter, just ask and theyll accomidate you with a smile. If your looking for run of the mill mexican food, go to Three Margaritas because this place is Genuine!
