I have no idea how this place has gotten good reviews. The food, while reasonably priced, is mediocre, but the service is terrible. We stopped in for breakfast this morning due to previous good reviews. The process of getting seated is pretty disorganized and they dont have much of a system setup for a waitlist. After we sat down we waited almost 30 minutes for anyone to say something to us. We had one server take our drink order before another one came along and asked the same thing (apparently they dont talk to each other much). Our food seemed to come out fairly quick, but we were missing some toast that should have come with one of our plates. Again, the food was okay but nothing exceptional. When we finally saw our server again we asked her for the missing toast, which then took another 20 minutes to get to us (toast must be a pretty hard thing for those people). We sat at our table for almost 30 minutes after finishing our meals without our server coming back. I finally had to ask someone who was clearing tables if he could get our check and a take-out box for us. We finally met our server again at the register. It seemed like she was a bit frazzled, so that might have been part of the problem, but this place is pretty small and its not like she had a lot of people to wait on. She said at the register that she couldnt find our check, which wouldnt have bothered me if I hadnt just waited for so long at the table (if she couldnt find it, she could have just come and spoke with us about it to save all that time). She was good enough to take an item off the tab for our wait, but then she stared at me while I was signing the credit card receipt before she tossed my copy at me and walked away in a very rude manner. I usually tip well and she seemed like she was having a hard day which made me more generous, but after her rude attitude I definitely regret tipping her as well as I did. I understand people can have crappy days, but they didnt appear to be understaffed and our server could have at least tried to make the time to check her tables to see how peoples meals were progressing. I definitely do not recommend the Golden Diner.

I really wanted to like this place. Its a lowkey, clean diner with a friendly atmosphere, and it is not super expensive like so many other places in Golden. But we disliked the food! I had "huevos rancheros". Two flour tortillas. In between are some black beans straight out of the can, and browned ground beef without any flavoring. Huh? The eggs were fine, but the sauce.... I wont hold it against them that this was no ranchera sauce. Typically in Colorado you get green chilli with your huevos rancheros. I love colorado green chilli! But this was no green chilli either. It was a greenish black pepper sauce?! It kind of tasted as if a German from the 19th century read a 2-sentence description of green chilli, and tried to replicate it. Weird! They should either take mexican food off the menu or hire somebody who knows and likes mexican cooking. The current cook does neither. Wife had biscuits and gravy. They were okay, just not all that great. But she disliked that the creme for the coffee came in those little plastic single-serve cups. She hates plastic waste, and that the preservatives in those cups are very high in sodium. In conclusion, we wont be back. So sorry to leave a bad review!

Visiting Denver we decided to visit Golden to tour Coors Brewery. I wanted to grab some breakfast before the 10 am tour. Golden had three places to choose from and on a whim we picked Golden Diner. Very cozy and relaxed atmosphere. We were asked right away what we wanted to drink and a couple minutes later our order was taken. The SO and I wanted to split the Bacon Avocado Monterey Jack Onion (BAMJO) omelette which came with hashbrowns and toast. I was expecting to eat off the same plate but they graciously split our breakfast into two equal parts. They even gave us extra toast. This was one of the best meals Ive had. The omelette was fluffy and the hash browns were the perfect crispness. Zero complaints and only praises for the place. They are constantly coming around to fill up your coffee, too.

Until today, Ive been waiting for a moment when I could write a glowing review of Golden Diner. Ive had some really good meals and decent service here in the past, as well as some lousy meals with terrible service. However after my most recent experience at Golden Diner, I am giving up on the place. My last meal there was terrible. The food was nearly inedible, and service was hapless and disorganized. Apologizing endlessly is not an excuse for being bad at your job. As we ate, we were serenaded by nonstop whiny heavy metal on a distorted p.o.s. radio. Does the management truly think customers enjoy that a roar of distorted crap music as they eat? Or do they not even care? My god! Get a clue.

Arrived 930, one group ahead. As people were showing they were seated before us. We inquired why that was and was just told that they were there already. We clearly knew we were next but decided we waited that long ( 45min) we might as well keep waiting. Finally get seated, sat for 15 till someone took our order. 30 min went by, not even an apology no drinks nothing . We walked out without anyone saying anything to us.It was 11 by then! I am of Arabic decent and my guest of Hispanic origin, I believe we werent being acknowledged for this reason. If you aint white you aint right

I guess all good things must come to an end. Ive been here several times in the past and always had a great breakfast but... Something has changed, new management, new cook I dont know but I ordered scrambled eggs and got a plain omelette. The cook diddnt even bother to cut it up and make it look like it was scrambled. Same thing with my girlfriends hobo, the cook just threw the egg disk on top of the veggies. Too bad I really like the Golden Diner but being too lazy to scramble scrambled eggs is a deal breaker for me.

The third best plate of biscuits and gravy in the United States as well as the best in the Denver Metro area. Yes I have finally found a great plate of biscuits and gravy somewhat near where I live. This place is a jewel. A gem. In short: amazing. The local ambience is charming. The location is ideal. The prices not very steep. If you want the best biscuits and gravy in the greater Denver area this is it. Eat it up. Youll be glad you did.

Cute place with friendly staff. Unfortunately the food is nothing special. I like how every place in Colorado claims to have "the best green chili". Sorry to say but this was the worst green chili Ive had and I am native of Colorado. Please find someone that knows what green chili is and get their help. Gravy was bland, potatoes where dry. French toast was again, nothing special. Probably wont be back and wont be talking about it.

First off this place was packed so my husband and I were expecting a wait. After the 2 parties before us were sat we continued to wait, a 3 top opened up so we expected to get sat after waiting 20 min. A group of people were then sat before us only after waiting 10 min, not happy with having to wait even longer, we left because first come first serve is apparently not followed so we will not be going back to this establishment.
