My husband and I used to LOVE this place. We probably went there at least once a week and have tried every beer on tap and most of the food on the menu. Which I must say is amazing... But lately the service has just been terribly. The servers are too busy socializing with eachother to even notice when they get a table... they get orders wrong, they dont fill up drinks, and to get them to bring you your ticket is like pulling teeth. Even after multiple times of being unsattisfied with the service we continued to rave about this place and kept going back, taking all our family and friends who would come to visit- because the food is that good. But now we wont even do that. The owner and magagers need to put a little more work ethnic into thier servers and pay attention to the guests. We even started getting out food to go until recently it seems they cant even do that right. Needless to say I think there will be no more Happy Viking for us. I gave them a three star just because of the food. But thats being nice as the service is TERRIBLE and we wont be back.

This review is in no way shape or form geared towards the food or the atmosphere, it is a review complaining about the staff. Today 6/7/14 a hostess was "manning" the front door, when a gentleman of Latin Descent walked in, due to "capacity" the hostess(very thin with brown hair) would not let him in,she stated the establishment was full and she was not going to allow him to come in, the gentlemen left without question and I guess continued with his day, not two minutes later two Caucasian women entered the front door and the same hostess that denied the gentlemen, let the women in and gave them proper seating and attention. Needless to say I was mortified. This was only one of the many incidents of discrimination I witnessed today. I am disgusted with Happy Viking and will not be returning. I could not believe in this day and age and in my life time I actually witnessed racial discrimination . I plan on giving management a call within this week to tell her/him what I witnessed and what I was frankly disgusted by.

I usually come here once a week and have had good experiences up till yesterday 12/26/2016. Brought the family in for the first time (party of 9) and asked for a table. Told me there would be a wait, thats fine. They pointed a table out and told me we where waiting on that table because the rest of the empty tables where reserved. So we wait about 30 minutes for the table to clear , awesome right? Nope they told me nevermind that table is reserved too. So they tell us they where getting something put together for us in the back....fine we wait.. One hour later. Lady comes up to us with a confused look and tells me " they just reserved the entire back section "?????? What the hell? No apology. No explanation. Just "they reserved the entire back section" so yes i was upset but i wasnt about to cause a scene. So i just told her ok ill go eat some else. And all i got was a "ok" once again , no apology , no explanation. I will not come here again or recommend any of my family here until i get a apology.

Completely disatisfied by their terrible managment. Went for some drinks and food with a few friends and and ended up with empty glasses and an hour and 45 minute wait for plain french fries despite consistent ordering and reordering/checking on orders/talking to management. Server showed empathy and motivation to get incident taken care of and accommodated but looked like she was held back by poor management and poor crew teamwork. This place has good food and a good selection of drinks, but their compete lack of customer service will ensure I avoid this bar at all costs and I suggest you do the same. Youd find better service at a chain like Applebees, Chilis, or even Buffalo Wild Wings (which is very sad in my opinion) and I would recommend any of those places that are close/local over this bar.

I get ignored by the bartenders every time I am there, they wont even acknowledge that Im there in any way. The place is all about there beer and its not even cold. There are one or two great servers there at a time but the rest are not very pleasant at all. Food is not good in my opinion, Ive tried almost all the appetizers and the pizza. Im not a fan. But the service is so bad consistently it makes me avoid going here, even with the limited options we have in this city. Hopefully when original Petes opens they will be on point with their service, maybe that will get the Viking to improve their customer service.

The happy viking used to be so nice. The manager John A. And Chino are so unprofessional. My 12 year old daughter dropped wings and a pizza. Chino said not our fault. Im a regular....John A. No napkins...no water...cold food....said ok...well try to fix...Chris tyne barback... was best thing at viking they let him go to Petes brew house. They dont care about the customer only the money. The food is amazing. The service sucks. The hostesses always suck...the managers always suck....the waitresses and REAL bartenders not manager fills are usually good. They gotta fix this stuff.

My family has eaten in this estsblishment for a long time and when we have friends and family visiting. The food is very good and the service has been quick. Everyone including us have liked their food and the customer service we were given. No one has complained. I would recommend this establishment for pasta lovers, pizza, burgers. and wings. If you are partial to hot food they have superb food. They have other food but i can actually say i am a pasta lover

Love the fried pickles!! It may sound weird but delicious with ranch dressing. If unsure about the spice of the wings, the servers are Very helpful. Went there for St Pattys dinner, corn beef was tender with carrots and potatoes, didnt see a lot of cabbage, not to worry. Servers knowledgeable about the beers. Im a lite weight drinker but my friend tried a stout recommended by a server and he Loved it!!! Have not had bad service!!!

Dont let the whole sports bar with lots of TVs scare you off. It is a great little restaurant with good food and nice people. Im sure later in the evening the bar gets more bar like but at lunch/dinner time it isnt overly loud or distracting. Good selection of food, great pizzas and the suicide sunday will be enough that youll need someone to carry you out to your car.

Place is a fun local pub. Salads are good size. Service is spotty and the reason for only 3 stars. Place seems to reseve tables for hours before the party arrives. Table was reseved next to me when I arrived. Place became busy with a wait list while the reserved table sat vacant. I finished my meal an hour and a half later and the table was still empty.

Manager was rude and service was mediocre. Food was just ok. Not very welcoming. Made a big deal out of a Starbucks cup eventhough we ordered several drinks and food items. Demanded that we take the cup out to the car in the middle of our meal. Wont be going back. There are much nicer places in Yuba City with better service, food and drinks.
