If you like dark cold sterile atmospheres with rude employees, then this is your place. I have attempted to patronize this place three or four times since it opened and you would think after the first few times, I would have learned my lesson. The atmosphere is dark and gloomy with hard cold uncomfortable furniture and the employees have never been warm or friendly. The only reason I tried again is because I drove all the way to Winters to meet some friends at the Buckhorn, but it didn’t open for another hour. So I called and told them to meet me there because it’s right around the corner. I walked in and sat up at the bar and was promptly ignored by four employees for the next four minutes. I know it was exactly four minutes because I looked at my cell phone to see how long it was since my call. Three out of the four, actually made eye contact with me without even saying “hello” “be right with you” etc… No acknowledgement what so ever, so I walked out. It was the same scenario last time I tried to get service six months ago. When I finally met up with my friends down the street at Creekside, they said that the same thing happened to them at Preserve and that’s why they don’t go there. Oh and guess what, when I sat down at Creekside (which was very busy and had only one employee), I was immediately greeted with a “hi, what can I get you”. My family has been in the bar and restaurant business for generations, I know how people should be treated. To look someone right in the eyes and not even acknowledge them is rude and completely unacceptable. I’ll never step foot in that place again! I don’t Yelp that often and when I have, it was because the service and food was outstanding. Not this time. Those employees need some serious people skills training. Sincerely, The Invisible Woman

Great sandwiches in a hip rustic decor. Appetizers are inventive and tasty. I went here fore the first time today and was very pleased with the setting, its not too dim but not bright, there are rustic wood accents with steel and leather. I ordered the Mr. Rueben which comes on a thick rye with a creamy russian dressing, thick corned beef, cabbage (not sauerkraut) and swiss. The flavor profile was highly savory and the whole sandwich was delicious. Each sandwich comes with homemade thick cut chips and a small gherkin like pickle, also homemade. My wife had the BBQ Beef Brisket which she couldnt get enough of. It came on a roll with their homemade bbq sauce which is savory and sweet with a smokiness that really knocks the flavor out of the park. My son and sister had the Meatball Melt and each gobbled up as much as they could (its big). The meatballs are juicy and well seasoned and the tomato sauce is a tad bit spicy, but very nicely so. Service was good, the waiter was knowledgable about the drafts they had on tap and wasnt obtrusive but checked in a couple times. I will be back.

Was passing the town of Winters and found this gem and was so glad we did! Prior to it being a restaurant it was a bar. Im so glad they started serving food! The menu is all organic, local, and seasonal! They are known for their amazing appetizer the Jalapeño Jelly! It was amazing and unique not spicy at all it was actually quite sweet! I enjoyed the caprese salad and their amazing corn bisque which tasted like a savory corn bread! Totally worth it! The atmosphere is awesome , they have great bar games a shuffle board and just really a great place to have fun with your friends! Definitely will be coming back if Im in the area!

This restaurant seems a little out of place in Winters, but is worth a stop. With industrial, reclaimed, slightly hipster-leaning decor, the vibe is quirky yet comfortable. They have some dog-friendly tables out front on the sidewalk and a small enclosed patio out back, in addition to lots of seating inside. Locally sourced ingredients appears to be a priority and the food was delicious. Definitely try the burger, as well as their shrimp and grits. Consistent with the name, home made preserves are a part of many menu items.

This place is top shelf. My wife and I split the fried chicken sandwich - it was so perfect! Tasty chicken, breading, cole slaw, pepperjack, and fried egg - fantastic! I could have done without the chips - they were a bit overcooked...but they seemed freshly made. Oh well. Better not to eat chips anyway. They had a good selection of beers on tap, and the service was great. We couldnt have asked for anything else. Go here for your next lunch/dinner, you wont be disappointed.

Ive enjoyed many great meals at Preserve Public House. Their unique pizzas are delicious. The Salami Grinder has artichoke hearts and other ingredients that provide a flavor profile I cant even put words to. My latest discover is the fried chicken sandwich . . . . slaw, jalapenos . . even a fried egg . . . and even though the egg threw me off at first, the flavors combined make for a mouth watering delight. Cant wait for my next visit. I highly recommend Preserve Public House!!

Found this place on a whim after a hike. It was so delicious we were tempted to order seconds. We had the grilled cheese, olive platter, jalapeño jelly plate and tostados. My daughter will be back with friends from UC-Davis. I would have given them 5 stars but the bartendress wasnt attentive enough to our needs to notice she could have sold us another signature drink.

The food was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was great. The price was decent for a night out with the wife. Customer age ranged from 21 to 50s and it didnt seem out of the ordinary. This place is a definitely must try at least once. We will be back of sure.

The food is really good quality. Jalapeno jelly and chicken tacos were my faves. The beer selection is decent, too, carrying both Fieldwork and Berryessa. Outdoor patio area means this place is also kid and dog friendly.

The work belly is amazing, the pulled pork is amazing, and the best part? Its relatively cheap for a sit down meal. The decorations go well together and an added bonus, a shuffle board table to play while you wait !

Went for lunch and enjoyed the creative but well executed menu and relaxed but hip ambiance. Service was decent and the beer cheese burger was very good. Coffee presentation was cute. Would definitely return.

Preserve is a good bar/restaurant that tries really hard to be trendy. They have a great atmosphere. The food and service has varied greatly every time I have been here. Ive had both good and bad experiences.

Service can be iffy at times, but the food is excellent and the beer selection is top notch. Plenty of TVs if you want to catch a game here or quiet and nice enough for a date. Definitely worth checking out.

Cheeses paired with preserves, seasonal delights! The 2 pizzas of the day were both uniquely flavored, light crisp dough, delicious. Friendly, efficient server.
