Money, greed, awful work ethics and just flat out dreadful food Google, I need to summon Fire Emojis for this review! Bend me over and call me Scarlet, because thats exactly how they made me feel while dining there. If United Airlines had to pair up with a restaurant it would be Gen. While United kicks you off flights youve already bought, Gen kicks you outside to feed a baby, best hospitality a restaurant has ever given me. Enter, the Mexican stand-off We came with a big group and after we were seated we pulled out food we brought for our baby when immediately stopped by the hostess telling us that we cannot "bring food from outside" in which we replied paused in absolute shock and replied...."Its for a baby." who obviously will not be joining us in the low grade "premium" meats that they were serving. She continued to say that we would have to feed the baby OUTSIDE. Wow...Geri S. said it perfectly in her review by saying the hostess was a "sour faced hostess", I would have used more harsh words, but bravo Geri. So thats what we had to do...go outside to feed the baby only to return to bland, dry (even when cooked medium rare), flavorless meats across the board. You know its bad when youre asian at an All You Can Eat place and you half the group doesnt want to fill up their stomach with the godawful meat they were serving because it wasnt worth the stomach real estate. Have a look at my photo, pictures dont lie. *Fire Emoji* Long story Long *Fire Emoji* Im so angry about the situation that I wanted to leave but because we were with some elder family members at the table, I couldnt leave that time, but trust me...I will be back to sit down and feed a baby and when they have make us feed the baby outside, Ill order the food and when it comes out, Im standing up and leaving just to prove a point.

Way better than Cham Sut Gol. Both places had great food, but in every other way, this place was way better (well other than in that Cham Sut Gol has ice cream and this place doesnt, but do you really go to a AYCE Korean BBQ for ice cream?): the menu has way more choices, theyre way more generous with banchan, and the service was way better too (though I cant comment on service for a more normal sized party - both here and Cham Sut Gol, I was with a party of like 20 people taking over two giant tables.) I will specifically call out the brisket, which was about the same here and at Cham Sut Gol (which is to say heavenly), the garlic calamari (the spicy calamari was too much work), and notably, oddly given that its a bbq place, their jap chae. Best jap chae ever. I ate the crap out of that jap chae.

One of the best Korean BBQ restaurants that I have been to. I make the drive from San Diego just to eat here. Unlike other places Ive tried the menu is one price for all selections. Which makes it easy and affordable to try out. The servers are on top of their game. Youre never left waiting to long for meat to cook and they frequently switch out your grill when it starts to smoke. The place is nicely decorated. Clean and hip. I have to shout out the Volcano Chicken because its one of my favorite dishes. They cook it for you in the kitchen. Its the hottest most delicious chicken Ive tried. I also love the salad they serve which is very simple and light but delicious. I will definitely be coming back. Im praying they open shop in San Diego soon!

It was good for my first time there but there are a couple reasons why Im giving this location 4 stars. First, the hostess are stuck up and try to act as if they own the place and try to look you down if that makes sense. Second, the entrance of the restaurant where the hostess are at reeks like urine. Third, the booths are dirty and the plates that have the Kim chi and such you can tell are not washed properly. And one last thing which for me wasnt a big deal they forgot my boyfriends beer and they dropped off food that we didnt order which we found pretty funny. Last, they took 10+ minutes to get our order. I would come back but probably to the Tustin location. The food is good and the seasoning you use to season your food is delicious.

Just got seated 2 hours after being told it was an hour wait... starting off as a worst first visit to this restaurant. Watching the crowd get seated had me confused as parties similar to mine were being seated. I understand that theres certain procedures on seating charts. But what irritated us the most was that we were told the only reason for the extra wait was for a booth to clear up. Well as the second hour came about, the seats that were given to us happened to be the high tables. The excitement for this place is 100% graded as an F. Nothing will come about with this review. But just figured Id throw my opinion in anyones way that might have experienced the same treatment.

Service wasnt bad for a party of 9. There were several moments where we had to flag them down but they werent slacking off so I cant be mad at them. The briskets and the pork belly were two of my favorites. They have this policy where if youre sitting down, you must pay for a meal. You cant just show up and have a drink sans food. This isnt fair for vegetarians who came to socialize with friends. Especially when theres no vegetarian options. Im sure its rare for non-meat eaters to come to Gen but this is very inconvenient for people who just wants to get together and enjoy each others company with good ayce food. Please fix that.

Ive only been here a couple of times because it tends to get crowded, but both times I was there, it was a good experience. They have flavored soju which tastes great and goes well with the BBQ. As with any AYCE place, make sure to come hungry in order to get your moneys worth. My favorite is the bulgogi because I love the marinade. If youre not a big red meat fan, there is also chicken and seafood options. This is a great place to go on a date or to get together with a group of friends. Be warned though, the wait can be ridiculously long...up to 2 hours and they dont take reservations.

3.5 stars if I could. Overall, I find that the quality of meat here is great. The beer selection not too bad either and their grills are generally adequately hot. The main thing that makes me take away 2 stars is the service. Very hit or miss. And generally bad. Servers take a very long time to respond to you and often forget you asked for additional oil or side dish. Waters are not refilled and it is difficult to get a waiter when you need one. Even though the food is good, service makes it frustrating and makes me not want to come back.

The techno music is so loud that the waiters cant understand what you are ordering. You cant talk to youre friends because of the loud music. They give you the wrong meats Or extra meat you didnt order but their policy is whatever you dont eat is charged extra. If someone isnt eating and just drinking alcohol they are still charged for the food because of policy. The cocktails are watery and taste like rubbing alcohol.Overall theres nothing specia about it.The only good things I can say is that the staff is attentive and the meat is good.
