This place used to be MenOh ramen, but they closed down a few months ago. They recently reopened as Matsuri Ramen so I decided to give it a try. Apparently they kept the staff from the old shop since one of the waitresses recognized me. I used to be a frequent visitor before they closed down. Honestly, its not the best ramen place, but its good enough to satisfy my cravings whenever I miss the taste of Japan (which is quite often). So back to the waitress, she noticed the name on my credit card when I was about to pay and I heard her mumbling something over and over at the back. When she came back with my card, she kept saying Terima kasih! Terima kasih! Terima kasih! which basically means Thank you in Indonesian. Surprised, I asked how she knows that word (shes clearly not Indonesian). Apparently one of the other waitresses is Indonesian and she taught her the phrase after recognizing my last name (Ivan is not Indonesian, obviously). Anyway, I thought that was pretty funny. Like I mentioned before, this shop isnt the greatest. Youre practically spoiled after you have Japanese food in Japan. But I will keep coming back because they have decent food and the fact that I always feel welcomed when Im there.

Could anyone please tell me whether the overweighted Chinese lady is still there? (Sorry I should not have used the overweighted word but I dont know how to describe her properly) It was totally a nightmare and the experience was so unique and completed my life. What happened? I got very thirsty and asked for water for 3 times politely. 10 mins passed by and she did not got me any water. The water was right there so I went ahead and got it on myself and I understood it was busy night and the started chatting happily with my friends. Suddenly the lady put down the noodle badly, banging the table and shooting "This is not in China, you cannot get water on your own." The soup spilled out , fortunately I was hurt physically and I was so shocked because I never image I could be treated like this in a restaurant. Just like if you were in United, you never imaged you could be beaten and dragged out the plane. I watched the noodle and felt it was so disgusting and the restaurant was so gross. I asked for manager and there was NO manager. At that time, I knew negative tip does not work. Thank you for the "Great" service and customer experience.

I love the soup of Matsuri Ramen. It has the excellent flavor of mixed pork, soy sauce, which develop really rich taste. Also the pork on the soup has really good flavor. I saw the chef broiled pork one by one very carefully in glass-walled kitchen. I assure that this is real Japanese restaurant unlike the most other restaurants in bay area. If you like Japanese noodle, you should try Matsuri Ramen once. Also I like Takoyaki here. Takoyaki in other restaurant is not well cooked but it has in perfect temperature and my daughter couldnt stop eating. :-)

Small, intimate, fantastic ramen. The broths are made on site and quite special. Each bowl has a soft boiled egg. The noodles, while not made on site are fresh - never frozen or dried. Service is friendly and effective. Some appetizers are excellent like the chicken Karachi. Others, like the octopus balls, have little octopus and are overpowered by the other ingredients. I keep going back for the ramen.

Friendly and fast service, black garlic ramen is sooo yummy. Hits the spot on rainy and cold nights. The broth may be too thick for some, but I love it. You can order it thinner. My son adores their mackerel in panko breading. Would come back every week if i wasnt watching my carbs.

Unfortunately Ive only been able to get take-out at Matsuri, but the taken has been very good and the service was excellent. Im update my review when I finally get to have a sit-down meal there. Parking can be a bit challenging, depending on the time of day.

We had a group of 17 and based on what everyone said, they were all very satisfied with the food. Excellent service, nice employees and were flexible to accept a reservation for such a large group. Definitely recommend it and plan on coming back.

Ramen was good. Eating with gospel music blasting in the background was a weird experience, though. Never been to a restaurant that played gospel music before.

This ramen place is comparable to the famous ramen places in San Mateo. Their porks are superb, however, this place wont be a suitable foodie places for veget.

The ramen here was just OK at best. Being Japanese, perhaps I am just picky, but the broth and the noodles were both not interesting. Toppings were better.

- Nice, cozy & modem interior. - Food is excellent though serving could be a little smaller than others. - cost is manageable. Ranges $9-$12
