Thousand Oaks is a nice town, a bit upmarket but plagued by chain operations. Reading a few reviews of this wonderful restaurant piqued my interest enough to give it a try. For those diners who only gave it four stars or less, they know not of what they write. How refreshing to go into a restaurant and have questions about items on the menu that you have never seen before? A stracchino, apple, walnut, arugula and pomegranate salad. Wow. My wife had sweet squash ravioli that were delicious and plentiful. My pici al pomodoro, cipolla, e salsiccia had slightly spicy wonderful sausages but the most truly delicious tomatoes, flown in from Italy. What flavor. I could have dined on the sauce alone. We finished by sharing the most wonderful panna cotta; that perfectly made creation that if slightly more moist would collapse and if slightly more firm would be something else again. Just a bit of lemon and honey and berries, oh my! One word about the service. It was interesting to read the reviews how newbies felt treated less well than other customers who seemed like old friends/regulars of Mr. Marcello. But isnt that reasonable? If you have been doing business for 20 years arent you likely to greet regulars with double kisses on the cheeks? As we were new we were addressed politely but a little warmth on our part was followed by old world charm. We could not have been more pleased not only with the owner, but our excellent waiter. We shared a bottle of the house Italian Cab. Absolutely fine at $28. We booked our table for 6. At that time there were few in the restaurant. By the time we left it was packed. As we are intending to move to Ventura County from LA this year we look forward to becoming regulars at Marcellos.

Our reservation was written down for a time later than we asked for. We were seated quickly just the same. Few wines by the glass left me with chardonnay which was unremarkable. We shared a tasty appetizer. The menu was extensive and our food delicious. Unfortunately, when I ordered tiramisu, I got creme brulee. I ate it. I ought to have returned the wrong dessert because it put a pall on the evening. I dont afford the calories of dessert often. The dessert was still on the bill, and rightly so, because I ate it. However, I thought the service was hurried and lacked attention to detail overall. The decor is attractive except for the fake brick on two walls. Fake anything is unappreciated. It would have been much better to keep to the other wall finishes. The tiles on the half wall are attractive, as are the dishes on display on the walls. It is refreshing to see real linen tablecloths which give a nice ambience to the place.

We used to loved this place. Quality food, a little pricey but worth it. Unfortunately tonight was not our best experience. Im not sure if they have a different cook but our food was not great. And our desert was really bad. The gnocci appetizer was good but my husbands risotto was dry and stiff. And my short ribs were too fatty for me. The pappardelle under the meat was dry...No sauce at all. And our panna cotta was gross! I have had delicious food here in the past, but tonight was really disappointing. To top it all off, our waiter was a slow poke and seemed to ignore us all night. I think we are done with this place. Too bad.

Came to see a Vince Gill concert so called ahead to check opening time which was 5 pm. The owner said he would open earlier for us which was very sweet. It was a ladies night out and we enjoyed the Mediterranean Brazalino and the Trout ...accompanied with wine and salads. Absolutely delicious! Service was friendly and very attentive. We even got to chat with the owner - so fun. Would have stayed longer but needed to be on time for Vince. Thank you for a perfect dinner. Is there another restaurant near West LA/Hollywood? We are attending a USC graduation in May and are challenged to find somewhere cozy for 8-10. Cheryl

There are not too many places you can take your best friend to lunch, but there is now. I love Lazy Dog you can bring your dog sit outside on the patio and have lunch or dinner. Lazy Dog also has a dog menu - yes your best friend can have a burger with you. Not only is the staff very friendly they have great food. This restaurant is by the movie theatre attached to the Oaks Malls. This is a great place to bring family and friends. They also have a great Ice Cream Sundae. Enjoy the experience.

Upon our arrival, we received a pleasant greeting for our anniversary and again upon our departure (which was mentioned in our reservation). We were offered black napkins (rather than the white napkins already on the table) since we were wearing black and to avoid lint transferring. Our bottled water was kept on ice during our meal. Service was impeccable.

One of the best kept secrets Nordstrom offers is the Blue Stove restaurant, usually hidden in the back corner on the second floor. The Thousand Oaks store has a testing kitchen attached, so there is always something creative going on. No matter - the food is always wonderful. And there is always a great selection of wines. After a long...

“Amazing food and quantities” Harolds serves the biggest omelettes and breakfast dishes in town. Most items are big enough to be shared, especially the omelets and pancakes. The chilaquiles are also excellent. Dinners are not quite as good as the breakfasts. There can be a long wait for breakfast on weekends.

Not good, waitresses and waiters were leaning over me hitting me in the head about every two minutes. Would not recommend this place, the food quality was not that great either. I have been coming her for the past two years, and now I can not stand being at this restaurant with the incredibly rude employees.

Not my first time eating here but this was super exceptional. Great service and the food was incredible. Ordered Penne pasta with mushrooms and chicken livers. You would never know you were eating chicken livers. Can hardly wait to return.

I love this restaurant! I have never had either a bad meal or poor service here. The specials are always great, but the main menu faire is terrific! You really do feel as if you are on a mini-vacation!

Small portion sizes that will leave you either hungry after your meal or with a significantly lighter wallet (the small portions taste great, but are pricey!)
