We stumbled across this pastry shop on our drive from simi to Malibu back in June and we loved it! It felt like home away from home. We visited quite a few French pastries during our stay in California and in the LA area, not one of them had good, authentic and unaltered French pastries like Chocolatine. Owner was very nice. We stopped for tea and a 4pm snack. Told the owner to surprise us. She brought back, among other goodies - the best macaron you can find in LA. Whenever were visiting LA this will be a must stop to replenish on breakfast goodies, deserts, or afternoon snacks. Most definitely recommend locals to drive the extra miles and try it out. 6 months later and Im still thinking about that macaron and pastry. Merci!

This was the worst food Ive had in a long, very long time. The quiche was soggy and completely tasteless, if that is possible! My husbands food was just as awful. This isnt exactly "haute cuisine." So how can it possibly be so bad?? The french owner was, what shall I say, french! Obnoxious and arrogant. From what I heard, he is selling the business and moving back to France. Do yourself a favor and eat next door - at least the hamburgers looks "eatable".

This is one of the best little coffee shops that I have been to in Ventura County. The owner is from France and is the one running the shop as the waitress and behind the counter. They are extremely genuine and have a very family oriented atmosphere. As someone who has visited France multiple times, I can vouch that the food and drinks are authentic. Im definitely making this my regular coffee shop!

Such a charming place! We have been driving by for a few months and decided to stop by for some hot chocolate (and sweets!). We could not have had a more pleasant bite. The owner who was working was extremely friendly and the service was great! If you are in the area looking for a casual bite or if you want to just treat yourself and get away, i recommend chocolatine

This place is as close as you can get to France while still in Thousand Oaks. Quaint atmosphere? check. Delicious crepes, sandwiches, and quiches? check. Amazingly creative, fresh, DELICIOUS desserts? check! Plus the owner and some of the servers are from France and speak in French for those of you who want the practice. :-)

Voila!.... So delicious and authentic. My husband and I went yesterday and I wanted to go back already today. The best quiche ever. The owner was so great and friendly, her husband makes everything, amazing. Cant wait to take my french mother-in-law here when she visits. Merci. ;)

My all time favorite place to eat!! My 3 year old loves the ham and cheese panini. Love the atmosphere as well the owner is so sweet, he always welcomes people with open arms and will take time to explain what each chocolate has in it or what type of chocolate it is.

To those who have said the service is slow. It is. Its quintessential, authentic French. Slow is good. As Americans, were accustomed to everything being fast. The food was great. The cafe au lait was perfect. So come in. Sit down. And relax. Its worth the wait.

I had a head in early to work one day and decided to try out this little French café just down the street. The bread is amazing. I tried the croque turkey. It was very refreshing. The coffee is better than most around. And what a great find in this area.

Came in for Saturday brunch with 4 adults and 2 kids. The place was tiny and the 2 workers ignored us for 10 minutes until we stood up and started to leave. They then asked if we wanted to order. By that point, we didnt.

Sharon - Nov 18, 2011 A trip to Paris without a security check! Outstanding pastries, quiches, and chocolates. Delightful for breakfast, and lunch or a snack during the day. The chocolate items make great gifts.

Dont waste your time going to this place. We recently went to purchase a few pastries and truffles....absolutely disgusting and far too expensive! I threw the items away.

The pastries seemed to be several days old and the coffee was just acceptable. The atmosphere was depressing and the service staff appeared miserable.
