As a local in the area I am always hoping to get a decent meal without having to drive an hour for dinner. I had high hopes for this place but it just does not pan out for me. I have had a lunch and a dinner there and just cannot go back again. The service was good but the food just does not rate anything higher than 2 stars and that is being generous because they are local. I had their fish tacos today.. the absolute worse tasting fish tacos ever. The fried breaded fish was cooked into a round ball and placed into a limp tortilla shell. As soon as I picked it up the fish rolled out and the shell fell apart. I ordered 3 and ate 1 after sending it back only to get it returned after they chopped it up. That did not improve the taste and did not change my experience. The beer selection still needs some improvement even though it is better than what it used to be. Glad to see they are selling local wines...thats a big plus. We have great wines in our area.

I wouldnt give this place half a star rating! My husband and I were there about 7:30pm on March 19. We sat at the bar. NoOne else was at the bar. Most tables occupied were finishing their meals. We were totally ignored by 2 servers/bartenders for 10 min. We were FINALLY asked if we needed something. I replied "a menu would be nice." I also inquired whether they had hard liquor. 10 more minutes and a waitress asked a gal, by name, eating across from bar if she needed a soda refill. Still being ignored, we got up and left! I will spread the word of your poor service to friends and family. I have very good friends who drive there monthly! UNBELIEVABLE!

My wife and I have been there several times and do not hesitate to bring friends. We have always had excellent service and a enjoy a nice selection. The pizza is exceptional. Check out the Tipsy Chicken. You cant go wrong. They now have a good selection of beer and the wines are from local wineries. Anyone who lives around Fair Play knows its an hour to anyplace and The Pub is a great local gathering place.

Friendly place and people. Good food, for a reasonable price. Biker friendly. A great place to stop if youre touring the Fairplay area. Beautiful area up here to ride. Lots of back roads with little traffic. Kid friendly. Ive taken my kids here from grammar school to high school. Friends meet, push tables together, and hang with their kids and friends. Try this place. You wont be dissapointed.

Great food This place is slow at customer service but the food makes up for it. So if you want to sit and relax and talk with the company sitting at your table, this place would work . If your in a hurry this place is probably not for you.

My wife and I have had several meals now. The service is always courteous and we love the atmosphere of the place. It feels "warm", and the fact that its local to us is a great bonus. Beats going to Placerville when we want an "escape".

The menu choices are standard pub choices. We had the Philly cheese sandwich and breaded zucchini. Both had good flavor. Waitress was very nice, competent and checked frequently to see if we were doing ok.
