Every so often, I forgo my coffee machine at home and stop by Big Mug. As soon as you walk in, youre met with a wave of aromatic coffee scents and the typical noises heard in a cafe as popular as this one. The atmosphere is relaxed with the store layout so open, thanks to the clever way they arranged their furniture and signature pieces on the wall. My go-to drink is the iced mocha. I also occasionally treat myself to their honey garlic bread, which perfectly blends the sweetness of honey with the saltiness of garlic seasoning. Another notable thing about the cafe is the workers. Just today, I went made a pitstop after my morning class to satisfy my coffee craving. While waiting, I had to step outside to make a quick call. I think someone may have accidentally taken my drink because when I came back in, my drink wasnt ready. At this point, it had been roughly 10 minutes since I ordered and I knew there werent any orders ahead of mine since the line formed right after I came in. I asked about it after waiting another five minutes. They were incredibly apologetic even though it wasnt their fault and quickly made my drink. This is what you call exemplary service. tldr; five stars for the delicious drinks and food, the nice employees and the overall atmosphere.

***This is an update to my original review*** Im never coming back here again, and its a shame because its actually a nice place to hang out and they serve the best coffee (Caramel Macchiato, yum!). Why wont I be coming back? Because of the service (or lack thereof) and the absence of good breakfast food (Im looking at you breakfast toast). Ive been going to big mug almost every weekend that Im in town for the past 2 years, and when I recently ordered my usual food/drinks and asked for "a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon" (I wanted some vitamin C and warm water for the weather) I was charged $4 for it(!) Thinking it was a mistake I came back the weekend after and asked "how much would you charge me for a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon?" to which they got the manager involved to tell me how they couldnt do that. How ridiculous that me spending $20+ every single time I go there and they cant give me a cup of hot water (or wanted to charge me a ridiculous $4 for it). Its also ridiculous that their WiFi password is "nooutsidedrink" LoL.

Favorite study spot! Stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon to do some work and this was the perfect place to do it. This place is so spacious with plenty of tables everywhere for you to either sit down and chat or do some work. They even have a large table reserved for parties of 8 or more, you just need to call ahead. Their coffee is pricey but I suppose thats due to the fact that brew Verve coffee bean all served up in a mason jar or some other cute cup. I admit that there is something really awesome about drinking cold coffee from a mason jar. I ordered their cold drip coffee and their caramel macchiato, and I liked both of the drinks. I thought the cold drip coffee was very smooth and it didnt need anything added to it.The caramel macchiato wasnt too sweet and there was a hint of bitterness but it helped balance the overall drink. I look forward to trying more of their drinks in my future visits! Ill definitely be back again!

Wow, what a cute little coffee shop! The shop is located off El Camino in South Bays Korean district. There are a couple Korean restaurants in the plaza, which has a lot of parking. I walked in and couldnt decide what flavor of Mariannes (from Santa Cruz) ice cream I wanted with my waffle. I kept it simple with green tea this time; I also got a latte for my jolt of caffeine. I saw a sign later that indicated they use Verve coffee beans here, woohoo! I love Verve! The latte was delicious and my waffle was warm and chewy with a giant scoop of ice cream on top! The cafe has a lot of tables and chairs for studying or just to sit down with a friend for some coffee and a bite to eat. They could use more outlets, considering how many people come here with friends to do work and study. If you come too late, you might find yourself out of luck with the outlets. Im adding Big Mug to my study spot list.

One of the most spacious cafes Ive been to in South Bay! Open area with plenty of seating at the long tables, small tables, couches, "bar" area, and even a reserved area for parties of 8+ customers. Also one of the best iced soy lattes Ive had! They use Verve coffee beans. Granted, I paid almost $5 for a "small" size but it was yummmay. The baristas are also super friendly and accommodating. While the drink prices are a *bit* steep ($4-5 for a regular size latte), this is one of my go-to cafes to work or just chill out :)

Big mug coffee has become my goto place during weekends. When I am feeling pretty lazy sitting on my couch, I just pack my bag and go here for a productive weekend. Parking can be lil pain in the ass, also it tends to get lil crowded after 5. They have free wifi and lot of space for hanging out and working. I usually get the American, but have tried other drinks too. Their green tea latte was bomb. My husband loves their cappuccino. The honey roasted garlic bread is super yum too. Loved the ambience, hippy and cool.

Great little cafe! We got the green tea ice cream waffle with the green tea latte and it was on point! Definitely enjoyed it for the The ambience was great, but it was a bit crowded in the wrong way. I felt like I was at a library, because the people sitting down were studying/working and not just enjoying the drinks at the place. Other than that I really like the feel of the spot. I will say though if the place is busy, it might be really difficult to find parking, so watch out for that. Check it out!

Best new coffee spot in Santa Clara The menu is simple which can be favorable to some although there are plenty if syrups to create off menu beverages. It offers pastries and other baked goods as well as gelato. The best thing about this place is the vast amount of seating options. Couches, tables, bar stools, and even a private area with a large enough table for groups of 8 or more make this an ideal study spot coupled with decent wifi speeds. Im glad I stumbled upon this place.

I love the atmosphere of the place as itd describe it as very quaint and comfy. The space itself is fairly large and they provide a number of tables, bars, and couches for work. The selection they have is really diverse from desserts, to tea, and to coffee; of course. Im not much of a coffee person myself, but they coffee they have is of a really high quality. Overall love the look and feel of the place and its turning out to be one of my favorite spots to study.

Great place to hang out and do work or read, with a very nice casual ambience. It does tend to be crowded though, even on Friday nights when youd expect people to be out and about. Avoid the cereal/grain latte, which is thick and kind of gross to be honest. Actually, avoid lattes in general, as they tend to be pretty murky. I usually get the teas, or if Im feeling indulgent, an affogato. Or two.
