In a predominantly Mexican area it’s odd to see a British pub thrive, BUT if you consider what both cultures love, it’s not that hard to understand. FUTBOL. Besides Brazil I’d say England and Mexico are the most Futbol rooted cultures. What else do those cultures share…..Drinking, so actually it’s a match made to last the ages, and this one has. Fullerton is a bit too college kids young to appreciate anything besides acting cool and keeping activities like drinking cheap. Of the bars that serve Fish & Chips I’d say this place rules the roost, but mostly because of the Authentic Britishness. I’m not a fan of the chicken tenders that Chippy’s and the onion rings Union Jacks push. Also their sauces are not on point, for that this place takes the fish and chips debate. Stay away from trivia night, it’s over googlified college kids who can’t hold their liquor. Live music is excellent, many artist covering all fare. Come for the solid Scotch selection, tall booths and other food. Prime rib, excellent, not overly fatty. Many shared side dishes keep the menu simple. The steak fries are not overly salted and the gravy is perfect. Just slather that on everything. The Sticky Toffee pudding reminds me of a Mexican dessert mixed with Filipino Bibinka, but it’s amazing, life changing. Parking lot is terrible, 1 way in, parking within the lot is kind of jacked up. Décor is old school, crowd can be anywhere from punk to old people, futbol fans drinking waiting for them to open to everyone in between. Gets very festive. Staff can be light and unattentive. Prices can be a bit high overall, unless you know what to get. Open late night and a great place to come.

Absolutely the BEST pub!! If I could give it more starts I would. The Olde Ship has the most authentic British food I have found in this country (they even have sausage rolls!!!). Been here 4 years and have not found a better place. Their Nelsons Cottage Pie is 100% authentic, and is just like my Mums! Superb beer selection as well, both tap and bottle. Can also watch the Premier League here too (Liverpool!!). Cant say enough good words about the place. Would camp out in the parking lot and eat here daily if I could.

Excellent English-themed pub that feels very out of place in Santa Ana. The exterior looks a little worse for the wear and is surrounded by both a residential area and Santa Ana College. However, all that changes upon entering. The interior is perfectly decorated to resemble a cozy English pub, with a superb drink and food menu. All the classics are here, including Shepherds Pie and Fish n Chips. Other rarities are here as well with all materials sourced by the British Grocer. Not to be missed!

Best fish and chips ever. Friend had a lamb shank and ate every bite. Server was very attentive. We came on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was not crowded at all. You feel as though you are in an English pub. Staff seemed glad to see a party of give adults. We came in hungry and left very pleased. Will return again. Parking is a lot better here than the Fullerton location.

Was told about this place by a former coworker and Im glad he did. All their beers are on nitro, so theyre ridiculously smooth. The bangers and mash are delicious. They had karaoke the last time I went and the head guy was actually really good at singing, which is surprisingly not common. It also wasnt so loud that we couldnt have a conversation.

“Great view and huge servings” The view from this restaurant is quite spectacular. Their full entrees include a salad bar, soup, cheese bread and your entree, in our case it was prime rib. I was not too hungry so ordered their fried calamari (appetizer) and shared the prime rib with my husband and we still had meat leftover for lunch the next day.

Like the Fullerton location, the food here is fantastic. I have never regretting ordering anything, here. They have a great selection of British and Irish beers, and a great sticky toffee pudding for dessert. During the season, they open early and you can watch Barclays Premier League football, which is definitely worth doing at least once.

Went here as its the American Outlaws OC Chapter meetup place. Being from Phoenix we dont have any place thats as dedicated to soccer as The Olde Ship. Servers were very on their game, and very polite. Had a great experience, food was good and reasonably priced as well. If youre in the area and a soccer fan, this is the place to go.

Not my first time here but I love the vibe of this place and the bartender Jenny (scotch egg) always takes great care of us. During our time here The crooked owls were performing. They play great music gypsy/swing music. We had the fish & chips which are always awesome! Definitely worth a try. Ill definitely be back!

After trying the Fullerton location I decided that I would treat myself to more English cuisine. This time I had a Scotch Egg, Lunch Portion Cottage pie and Triffle. Food did not disappoint. If there was a down fall the Triffle did not have enough Sherrie in it as I couldnt even taste it. Worth a detour if close by

Classic, unpretentious but sophisticated, high energy Olde Ship with skilled old school bartenders who can make any drink without problem. This place is so great, and reliable, it feels like a warm blanket. All the barkeeps are great, and its a place I return again and again.

Food was very good and the dessert was delicious! I had the sticky toffee pudding. Only a few other tables and the bar were occupied. The other people would alternate and sing karaoke in the bar. Our waitress sang too while we were eating. The atmosphere and decor were nice.

Totally authentic English Pub, complete with a double decker bus out back in the parking lot. British selection of beers on tap. British menu of classic items like Shepherds Pie, Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, etc. You can even order English style "Breakfast".
