Great service, good food! Very family friendly! I was alone with a baby in stroller and it was raining outside. The hostess quickly went out to help open the door for me and put me in an area where i can have the stroller right beside me. They made me feel welcome and totally didnt mind the wet stroller and umbrellas i brought in. The service was great.. the waiter was very fast in providing me with water and a straw! He was so helpful when i was ordering as well. I wanted the world famous pancakes and the chowder but could not decide on the size to order and he told me i could order the smaller ones and if i felt it wasnt enough, he could upgrade it to the bigger size. Totally makes your life easy! (The pancakes actually comes in half size in case you are alone and afraid to get the whole order.) The food was good. Nothing extraordinary but well worth the price. The pancakes were tasty and the chowder was with hint of spice. At the end of the meal, they give you a token to play thier slot machine, i actually won a free smoothie! So you know its real and it works! Based on their menu, this place looks perfect for breakfast, also good for lunch and dinner. Brealfast is also till 3pm! :)

When we arrived the hostess was cold and disinterested. At the first visit the waiter did not offer to get us drinks. The second visit he took our drink and food order. He was knowledgable about the menu. We did not see him again until dinner was served and never offered to refill our drinks. He stopped once to check on our meal and for about 20 minutes after our plates from dinner were served he finally asked us if we would like dessert. When he asked he did not have the dessert menu with him and assumed we had the menu memorized. He only asked one of the three of us in our party if they would like an after dinner drink, and once that person said yes he left to prepare the drink. As for the food it was very disappointing. I had the Union Square Louie. The hard boiled eggs were overdone so the yolks were green because of the released ferric oxide. The prawns were simply steamed and did not have any seasoning-- plus they were overcooked and chewy. The lettuce was drenched in dressing. Beyond overpriced for the quality. I will not return and I would not recommend anyone to this restaurant.

Sears Fine Foods is a not a stones throw away from Union Square, located on Powell Street. It has a rather unassuming exterior, however the interior is quite charming with a warm atmosphere. I visited Sears when just looking for a bite to eat around my area, the location is fantastic. Eddie was my waiter and he was friendly and warm and attentive. I got to sit right near the window to watch the cable cars trundle by, which was a great experience for this tourist. I had the Calamari for starters, it was good if a little tough. Theres also some octopus as well as calamari rings. Its quite large for a starter though. The main was the boneless rib eye special. It was good value with how large the steak was. Very well cooked, and the toppings and sides were very nice, in particular the green beans. For dessert, the mango sorbet was to die for, it was so refreshing after all that meat, and for $6.95, you cant go wrong. Overall I enjoyed my time at Sears, it had a great atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. Id definitely go back.

This place was pretty good! Not the best though at first I thought it was a pub which is why I didnt want to go there until I actually went inside but anyway I ordered the smoked salmon and water my water was a pint and it was freezing I love freezing cold water! My water was so good my salmon was almost cold but delicious my eggs were almost cold as well but delicious I actually didnt know they were eggs until I almost dropped my knife on them and my chips were warm but not hot this is now my second meal which hasnt been hot, not impressed the place looked very old in of which it is est 1923 I think I absolutely hate going to really old restaurants because normally they are dirty and look horrible I always go to modern restaurants, clean and new and the guy whom served us was so polite! Overall meal was ok not the best restaurant I didnt like but it was ok

So I went on 12/27/14 around 9:30am. place was packed and were told a 30min wait time and we ended up being seated in about 5mins. which is awesome. I ordered the "Sears all meat" omelette and my lady ordered the "egg and ham" omelette. its a very simple easy meal but I was seriously amazed, everything tasted so fresh and we got a side order of the breakfast potatoes (i dont recall the actual name) but I couldnt stop eating them. everything about this place I loved. The napkins had a seal and name on them and then we were give a gold coin to use for on a gift prize slot machine. Our waiter was a Kathy if I remember correctly, was super friendly and definitely gave great service. if I ever go back to San Fran. 100% Ill be here every morning. Thank you for perfecting my favorite meal of the day haha

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant during our stay in San Francisco. Nice venue with great atmosphere. The food was excellent. I had the chicken wings for a starter followed by a New York steak which was perfect. We also had a $50 bottle of merlot. The only let down was our waiter. He was incredibly rude. He hardly spoke when he came to our table and when he did he was short & sharp when replying to any of our questions. He looked miserable. We paid the $140 bill & begrudgingly left a $5 tip for this unpleasant individual. After collecting the bill, he then returned, tapped my girlfriend on the shoulder & threw the wallet on the table with the $5 and receipt inside on which he had circled the "suggested gratuity" of 15%!!! I took the $5 back & left! Decent food, terrible waiter!

You can never go home again. When I was a kid, I used to love going to Sears. When a fellow S.F. native was coming into town, I suggested we eat at Sears. I had no problem waiting in line to get seated, but once we sat down we had to wait ten minutes to get coffee. I ordered the famous coffee cake that I remembered being so good and oven warmed. That sucker was so hot from the microwave that my throat was literally still burned the next day. The breakfast itself was okay, nothing to write home about. This bummer of a breakfast was topped off when we left. I walked up to the register to pay my bill and had to clear my throat to get the attention of the lady standing there. She swung around startled and informed me the cashier would be there in a minute. Well that makes one of us.....
