Mad Dog is a pretty solid Irish bar in the lower Haight that has a great trivia night and a lot of TVs for watching the game. Run by *real Irish people*! I have mostly only been here for trivia nights, which are well-done but are perhaps a bit too crowded for my liking (unless you get there like an hour before it starts, you have a hard time getting a booth and end up standing basically on top of others teams). Trivia on Tuesday is slightly less crowded than Thursdays. They also have a table you can reserve that has its own tap built-in, and you can pour your own beer (I think its unlimited at least until the tap runs out??). Mad Dog pretty laid-back / casual / divey, it is but not run down. They only serve beer / sangria / I think a few types of wine (no hard-A here) and dont take CCs but do have an ATM. I slightly prefer Toronado because it seems to be a little quieter, but this is a fine spot as well.

Cool bar in a neighborhood of cool bars. This one is the least offensive. Not to say that any of them are offensive but they all have their quirks. Its your token sports bar in Lower Haight. Went there last weekend to watch some NCAA tourney games. They have an out side seating area and a ton of beers on tap. They also have a table that you could rent out with a bunch of people. You buy a keg of whatever beer you like and you can serve yourself at the table, yes there is a kegerator in the table. This place is cool to get beers on a sunny Saturday.

Great trivia night and pretty good prices. The bartender made a mistake and ran my friends card on someone elses tab but the place was jammed and it seemed like it was an honest mistake. Good on him though, he reimbursed my friend in cash for the price of the other persons tab on the spot and gave our whole table a free round of drinks to make up for the mistake. As you might expect of this area, parking is absolutely impossible. Plan to arrive early to try and hunt down a free space somewhere relatively close by.

Simply put: this bar rocks! Everyone knows how phenomenal their beer selection is and I can only confirm their reviews. It is a little more laid back and a lot less smelly than its Lower Haight beer brother, Toronado and theres always more room to feel comfortable. If you are a little lost and needing some direction, the staff is awesome and will have no problem in pointing you in the right direction and recommending some wonderful brews. I always have a great time here!

This is a dingy dark bar in lower Haight. Though I expected this, I was unimpressed with the drinks, food and overall atmosphere. I shared a club sandwich with a friend and had a couple glasses of wine. We stumbled in after going to a happy hour, looking for something more casual. This was very casual and just not my scene, there were rips in the upholstery and I felt like the tables were sticky. It did seem to have a couple regulars so I guess its good to some?

Best place to watch English Football, Fans of SkyBet Championship, such as I, or Premier League, wait no further! If it;s on, theyll sort the volume! Best array of beer I that comes to mind for me in this city, other than Tommy Joes. Derrick and the rest of the staff are aces, Live, Laugh, and learn about great new beers that you may want to keep drinking over the rainbow!

Worst serves ever. Their employee name karissa was so rude to the people I was with. Right when we tried to order our food and drinks she rolled her eyes at us. Then we told her we want to cancel our order and just pay for the one drink she said she couldnt cancel because the order was already put in. SHE WAS SO RUDE THAT NEVER AGAIN I WILL NEVER GO BACK.

bros bros bros ordering coors! they have a wonderful beer selection but be prepared to wait and pay allot, i ordered a chimay blue regular size and it was 15.50 and had to wait 30 min so i could give them my money i strongly suggest paying by cash so you are not anchored to this awful establishment

If you want to catch a game in Lower Haight, this place has the most TVs. It’s especially popular with the soccer/real football crowd. A great place to watch the World Cup or an English Premiere League match. Decent selection of beer, a pool table, and outdoor patio make this a well rounded pub.

Terrible service. Very rude bartenders who simply ignore you even when you wave in their face. I understand it gets busy but there is no excuse for deliberately not acknowledging people trying to get their attention. No reason to hit up this bar since they have plenty of superior competition.

Come for the pub quiz on Tuesdays and Thursdays or to watch the game, probably the best sports bar in lower haight. Otherwise their draft selection is less than stellar (though they make up for it in bottles and bombers) and the food leaves something to be desired.

Fantastic local pub in the heart of the revitalized Haight. Friendly and knowledgeable staff (remember to say please and thank you for even better service!) with hundreds of beer choices. Open early for European football, it is a travellers dream!

Doesnt look like it from the outside, but its actually quite big and roomy on the inside. Plenty of TVs with a very large screen in the back. I like the high table by the window the most. Bartenders are super nice.

This is my favorite local bar! My friend and I come here 1-2 times a week. The bartenders are all great and the food is decent. Nice chill spot to watch sports and they have a really fun trivia night on Thursdays.

Any soccer game you wanna watch, theyll be showing it. Trivia here is great. Show up early though. The Tuesday trivia is the easy one, Thursday is the hard one. No liquor, this place is beer and wine only.

Great place to grab some drinks and watch some sports. Note: When its packed it gets pretty hot inside there and the bar counter is pretty small so it might take a minute to get a drink. Pitcher up!

Mad Dog in the Fog is one of THE bars locals call home. If you like beer, come here. They not only have Anchor Steam on tap, but they have a near unprecedented selection for a bar of such a size.

Casual, divey, great food. If you are lucky enough to get a seat at a booth---then you are going to have a good time! Trivia is fun too. Had the nachos last night and they were delicious!

Strange "English" bar in San Francisco. Good selection of beers but the "English" authenticity is doubted somewhat by the massive screens showing baseball & ice hockey. Good service.

Decent sports bar. Has a decent number of TVs, but seating is limited and poorly planned with 4 large booths that account for 75% of the seating. They now serve food, which is a plus.
