Why does Sunday brunch have to be a waiting nightmare? * Im looking at you Corner Store, uh, right around the corner from this pub! * It doesnt have to be! Starving (but not stoned) is not a good feeling to have. For casual, no wait, brunch food with big portions, Pig & Whistle is the answer. Dont look for traditional pancakes and french toast during weekend brunch. Instead you get hearty grub like meat pies, bangers n mash, burger and fries or what we all ordered: THE Breakfast: scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast and sausage and beans for less than $10. Wednesday night is trivia night with $3.50 beers. With a traditional pub atmosphere thats cozy and welcoming, no doubt Ill be back.

I have to admit, the first time I came here was for late night drinks, needless to say that I didnt remember it that much. But since that time I have been back 3 or 4 times which i DO remember it! Great neighborhood bar with awesome food and a good beer list. Very cool bartenders and people on the inside, during game days they have a drop down screen in the front of the bar. Awesome place to hang and get a beer if you ever find yourself near Geary and Masonic.

Classic dim and cozy pub atmosphere. Casual, neighborly, down-to-earth. Theyve got English comfort food on the menu like shepherds pie and bangers & mash. The fish and chips are great! Generous portion of fish and thick, crispy steak cut fries. Overall, great place to grab beer with friends on a low-key night. Especially on trivia night Wednesdays!

Nice pub! Good variety of beers on tap, including a fair few British ones (London Pride, Old Speckled Hen, Bass, Boddingtons etc) and plenty of American ones. Good selection of British food on the menu. Foods only better than usual bar grub but nothing gourmet. Friendly staff and a good pub quiz Wednesdays and Sundays.

The beer is a good price but I find that the service isnt very good and it always smells. There is Trivia on Tuesday but it is boring and not well thought out. It is an ok neighborhood bar but there are other place that might be worth the trip. There is plenty of seating though, which is nice!!

This is one of those great neighborhood pubs. They have a nice selection of beers & regular drink specials. Their food menu has the selections you expect & a couple you probably dont - at neighborhood prices (i.e. burger & fries $8). Trivia twice a week, if thats your thing. Drop by for a pint.

RUDE OWNER: He freaking rolled his eyes at me when I asked him about a beer... FRIED FOOD: Greasy and plain food.... Not that special at all. Will not return and would go out of my way to keep others from going there.... that is how bad my experience was

I had water(shrug)....the beer battered mushrooms were scrumptiously hot! And the Wednesday night trivia was something refreshingly different. The bar was crowded with many conversive people. I look forward to experiencing again....

Great local bar. Really fun place to watch European sporting events. Found this place for world cup 2010 and loved it. The staff is great, they know how to pour Guiness and the clientelle are good fun.

Lovely landlords when we came in, had Shepherds pie and Bangers & mash, couple pints of Guinness - great food and perfect pours. Definitely coming back.
