Went here on a Monday night - tonight - as Sandra Dees and Negril (both of which are much nearer our home) were closed. I cant say enough good things about this place and the owner. First of all, the servings are enormous, and the quality of meat is much higher than Sandra Dees - on par with Momos Meat Market. The sauce here is incredible - not one-dimensional at all, but with equal amounts of savory, sweet, acid and delicate layers of spice. There was a sort of sweet frutiness, like some sort of citrus maybe; the sauce was thick and sweet, but not cloying at all. It was some of the best real BBQ sauce Ive ever had, and was the perfect complement for the meat, which was lean without being tough, and perfectly (!) cooked. The sweet potato tater tots, caramelized with a little brown sugar and cinnamon, were one of the best sides ever. The corn and chiles were HOT and VERY SPICY and freaking delicious. The cole slaw was refreshing, not too creamy. I dont thing there was anything that could have been better about the meal. You have to get to this place early - right after work, definitely before 7! - or hell be sold out. Even in the torrential rain, there was a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up food for themselves and their families. And did I mention that for $34 I took home a HUGE amount of food. Enough for 2 very hungry adults, with enough left over for 2 big lunches. Well be back - and I hope this place will thrive. There are several mediocre BBQ places in town, but only a few that do such good BBQ, and this is one of the best.

I happened to drive past this place after leaving the post office, I saw the smoke, smelled the smoke, thought hmmm bbq joint in the hood, has to be good. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich, corn bread, collard greens and the corn gumbo and potato salad too, yes all of them sides. Im more of a side dish eater than a main dish. The young kid at the counter was polite and helpful, he even offered to give my change back in bills instead of change, he basically returned more money to me so i wouldnt have loose change. I tipped him 2 dollars before I even got my food. The kid brought my food out, holy smokes... the chicken was cooked perfect, moist, a lil smoke flavor, not too much, the sides... my favorite. collard greens on point, potato salad was perfect, it is all good, definitely coming back.

First time here at this establishment. The owner was very friendly and conversational. The person that helped me to take my order was very patient with me. (Im indecisive and it didnt help that there were so many things to choose from. Everything sounded so good)...it didnt take long for our food to come out and when it did come out it was SO GOOD. Everything going was PERFECTLY seasoned. The chicken wings were GREAT. The HOT LINKS are great. The TRIP TIP AND RIBS WERE SUPER TENDER..everything was just......good. my boyfriend loved it too. The portions are big! He couldnt even finish it all. And thats saying something cause he greedy..lol..we WILL be back in the future..

First time I came here, the owner rudely turned me away telling me to come back earlier the next day before they ran out of food. This was a about an hour and a half before closing time. So, determined to try this place that must be so good they run out of food, I come back. Meat is dry and sauce is just mediocre. Its extremely dirty, and the workers... Its not because of the good food that they run out, its poor management.

SERIOUSLY THIS IS THE BEST BBQ I HAVE HAD YET!! I NEEEEEEEVER EAT MAC & CHEESE FROM RESTAURANTS EVER. BUT THIS MAC & CHEESE TASTE LIKE SOMEBODY GRANDMA MADE IT!!! THE MEATLOAF WAS FREAKING AWESOME & EVEN THE CORN WAS GOOD LOL. I COULD GO ON & ON. BUT PLEASE IF YOU LOOKING FOR GREAT BBQ AT A GOOD PRICE... LOOK NO FURTHER! AND DID I MENTION THE COOK IS BLACK? SO YOU KNOW HE GETS DOWN WITH THE GET DOWN LOL!!!

It’s counter service only and the restaurant is stark – bare and disordered. That part is ok but I didn’t like having to get a bathroom key from the counter. Call me picky, but I don’t like handling the bathroom key after washing my hands. The ribs were good but nothing to brag about. For me they were too sweet and a little dry. To someone else this combination might be perfect. Their beans are excellent.

Cant get enough of their BBQ! Every visit to T&R Taste of Texas has been amazing. The staff are always very informative and exceptionally nice. The food is even better. We have never been disappointed. The Tri-tip is to die for, and dont get me started on their sweet potato tater tots! Make the time and effort to try this place. You wont regret it!!

Great Cole Slaw and surprisingly good food. Being from Texas, I have experience with roadside BBQ joints. We used to drive from Ft Worth to the coast and stop at several along the way. T&R reminds me of the best of those. They only cook enough for that day so the meat was perfect. Get there early and hope its not too late.

The food was great. The meat was smokey and tender. The sides were great. Loved mac n cheese and potatoe salad. It is a togo place. No atmosphere. Too bad because with a little cleanup some red and white table cloths and BBQ shows on tvs to get folks hungrier id give it a 5 then. I will go back.

Delicious, basic BBQ with traditional side dishes. Love the thick cut fried bologna sandwich for lunch and the tri tip for dinner. The tater tots (regular or sweet potato) are great any time. The macncheese is good too - youll actually want to finish what your kids dont eat.

Disgusting, I showed up at 1130 for lunch there were two people ahead of me, there was nothing on the menu that was ready pulled pork, ribs or chicken sandwich were my only choices. So I ordered the chicken sandwich 25 minutes later after 6 do customers had come and gone

Gangsta good BBQ and gangsta rap music, all the food was awesome. No A/C but the box fan did the job. The $1 can drinks sucks. I cant stress enough how good the food was. I wouldnt take my wife and kids, but would definitely go with the guys or by myself.

Meats 6.5/10 sides 6/10 corn beard 9/10 , do not try and eat here when its hot , its so hot in side you will be sweating no a/c , wont be coming back anytime soon ...
