first of all, let me start by stating that I HAVE NEVER TAKEN THE TIME TO WRITE A REVIEW ON ANYTHING, BUT FOR THIS INCIDENCE I HAD TO DO IT Because WE WENT THERE FOR MY DAUGHTERS SWEET 16TH...Service was terrible and food SUCKS!!!!! Also DO NOT BUY THEIR coupon/gift certificate through some on line link. The scam is that you pay $40.00 and get a $100.00 gift certificate, I purchased it and then they send you a link to print out gift certificate after you have paid for it, and comes to find out, you have to spend a whooping $200 excluding tips, taxes and DRINKS....AND MANDATORY 20% GRATUITIES!!!! THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT I HAD TO SPEND A WHOOPING $230.00 NET TO SAVE $60.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT THERES MORE.....THE FIRST TWO ENTREES I ORDERED (RIBS & SALMON LINGUINI)I I WAS TOLD they are out!!! I made a big deal about it and 5 minutes later the waiter came back and magically they now have them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT THERE IS MORE...I ordered a mojitos and it was soooo SOUR WHEN I TOOK A SIP MY STOMACH DID SOMERSAULTS, HAD TO SEND IT BACK AND I WAS TOLD THAT THAT WAS HOW THE BARTENDER MAKES THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LAST BUT NOT LEAST, because our bill only came to $178.00 (remember food only) I had to ordered another $22.00 worth of nasty food in order for us to be able to use the fraudulent $100.00 gift certificates, so we decided to order three different deserts to go, when I got home I decided to go ahead and eat the creme brulee, this is the best part of it all, they just dumped the creme brulee into their to go box and it was just a blob of crap!!!! OOPS SORRY ONE MORE ITEM... they packed up our of our left overs and put them into three paper bags, the same ones that they put your groceries in at the groceries stores!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Place stole my wifes coat and cell phone on the night I proposed! The hostess apparently had a similar jacket, even though the coat with my wifes cell phone was never returned. The owner, Geoff, dodged our calls for over 3 weeks till we finnaly got a check for the coat.. only the coat....... not the cell phone or a gift certificate or even an apology. I would have taken this matter further but its a big account for SWS so I had to leave it alone. The best part is that they gave my wife another mens coat and said to keep it cause it belonged to a state representative. Chops represents the corruption that is ruining this country. There are many other places in the area worth dining at..... go there!

We used to love Chops. We would go for every celebration. Lately we just hadnt gone but went back for our wedding anniversary. It was virtually empty and we now know why. The service was great as always but the food was less than sub par. The potato skins were overcooked and hard. The steak was flavorless. The garlic mashed potatoes had zero garlic. They changed their recipe for creme brulee and no longer use Meyer Lemons. The only thing good was the service and the bread with the cheesy butter. So disappointing that our regular place is now going to no longer be on our list to go to.

When youre one of the top-rated restaurants in a foodie haven such as Sacramento, diners arrive with huge expectations. Chops Steak Seafood & Bar was a delightful restaurant with excellent tasting food and a very nice ambiance. The service was excellent and everything on the plate was delicious, including the appetizers and desserts! The evening started as it ended: with impeccable service from everyone. Filled up our expectations!

Went for my birthday end of March. Arrived at 8:30 pm. Table of 10 only other patrons in restaurant. Calamari app was good. Both my daughter & I ordered braised short ribs. Ribs were so fatty that we could hardly find meat. Waiter did not return to ask how everything was until he cleared plates. We told him the meat was pure fat. He did not apologize, offer a free cordial or dessert. Food overpriced. Would never return.

Overpriced food is all I have to say. Service was good. We had a very young girl trying her hardest. Theres nothing more frustrating than paying high prices for food that I could have ordered at a diner for half the cost. Those that like wine, buy your own bottle. Bartender very tight on the pour! Its a bummer when you try a new place and your first experience is such that you know you will not return...

Prices on happy hour menu rock considering environment, food was awesome, though sparse,up until my lady spit out a bone about one inch long half inch across... Management tells her "thats unusual" and looks at her/us suspiciously... Lol...really not like we care about a free pork slider...

$45 for an overcooked 8 oz. Filet Mignon. $50 with 9 of a 20 oz. Rib Eye steak being gristle and fat. I dont have a problem paying Mortons or Ruths Chris prices. But I do when the quality is not even as good as Cheesecake Factory. This was the second chance; not worth going back.

Out of 14 meals ordered, steaks, 12 had to be sent back. Either overlooked or undercooked. Felt sorry for the poor waiter, no apology or explanation from management. We will not return nor will we advise anyone else to patronize.

Awful overpriced food. Ribeye was grizzle. They stress size over quality big pile of fries. Chocolate cake tasted of mold. Oily salad for 10 bucks. Nice view of capitol at Night. But never again

Quiet atmosphere, great service, nice view of the capital and close to a small shopping area. I will come back again for the seafood. Although the steak sandwich was delicious.
