I very recently planned a 50th birthday party for my wife at the J Street Chicago Fire on October 22. I met with the assistant manager/banquet coordinator, Leilani, and planned a party for 30 people with the Rush Street banquet package. I was told the party would have 2 servers and we would have unlimited thin crust pizza and salad for the duration of the party. On the night of the party, I was given only 1 server with no explanation from Leilani and she did not help our sole server who ran around for 4 hours doing his best to tend to the guests. Leilani did manage to appear front and center to count the number of guests for the final bill and that is the only time I saw her after our initial arrival. The food was not replenished and our guests waited over 30 minutes for salad and after the first round of pizzas, additional pizza was never brought out. Also, our guests waited and waited for their drinks much to their frustration. Upon reflection, I wish I had been more assertive with Leilani on that evening, but I was also quite busy visiting with our guests. I counted on the restaurant and the large sum of money we paid to take care of things for us. Thats why we hired them in the first place. When I went back to speak with Leilani the next day to question why we only had 1 server, she said, "Well, someone called in sick." There was no effort to rectify the problem or apologize. I then told her that I thought she should compensate us and she agreed to take $100 off of my $617.37 overall bill. She took my credit card to apply the compensatory refund, which took roughly 15 minutes for some reason, but instead of applying credit to my card, she charged me an ADDITIONAL $100. After additional phone calls and conversations, I finally received a refund of the initial compensatory $100 and a refund for her additional $100 charge. I love the pizza at Chicago Fire, but will never again consider having any sort of party at the restaurant for the mere fact that Leilani, the assistant manager and banquet coordinator, showed very little interest in making sure my wifes 50th birthday party received excellent service. On the contrary, it seemed that Leilanis only interest was collecting the money due the restaurant with minimal thought to service. In this day and age, with so many businesses eager to serve the public, I would recommend going somewhere else, rather than Chicago Fire for large parties or banquets.

Walked in at 5:30 pm on Friday. Told to wait for 35 minutes for table. No room in the bar (3 persons deep, couldnt get close to a bartender). People standing and no where to sit (Did I mention my mother visiting from Fla is disabled and 86 years old and needs a walker and no seats available!) Walked through restaurant and found a half empty place! Asked waiter why they were not seating customers. He said he had 8 tables reserved but 8 tables were empty. Asked him to get mgr. Mgr explained to me that they only bring in staff in 15 min increments and they would all be there soon. I told him this is a mgmt problem and he needed to change the way he does staffing. The other half of place is empty too. I asked him to seat my mother and myself (also disabled and using my cane) and he said I just needed to stand and wait. I asked about the other half of empty restaurant and he said they were reserved EXCEPT I had already talked to the waiter who told me there were only 8 tables reserved. He got upset after I caught him with a huge fib! Please dont waste your valuable time here. They have no no need of disabled customers needing a little reasonable accommodation. There are pizza restaurants on every corner, GO THERE!

I went to Chicago Fire during a busy, Friday evening. We had to wait about 30 minutes without a reservation, but thats not too bad if you consider most restaurants are packed on Fridays. The pizza was fantastic. I got the deep-dish chicago fire (combo). The crust was perfect, the toppings were plentiful, and overall I was very impressed with the taste. If you dont want pizza then there are few other options. There is a roast beef sandwich that my friend sad was quite good, but otherwise the menu is very limited. I cant judge the service much because we were served by a friend of ours, but it seemed like the staff was doing well considering the large crowd. My biggest complaint is that it was very loud; I wouldnt recommend taking someone there if you plan on talking much (i.e. not good for dates). It also took a good 30-40 minutes for that pizza to come out, so expect this whole outing to take a good hour and 30 mins to 2 hours. Also, the lighting is very dim, so that can be a positive or negative depending on your taste. The bottom line: if you want some really good pizza, its worth it! I would recommend going during the week as Im sure its more pleasant when less busy. Enjoy!

5:30 on a Wednesday night and placed our order for pizza. waitress said it would be 30 to 35 minutes. We were ok with it. Pizza arrived at 6:25. After placing the order for pizza, I asked the waitress what was the craft beer rotating beer? She told me and then walked away without asking if I wanted one or anything else. I would of ordered a beer. During our meal, she stopped by and refilled our waters and said nothing. It took several minutes to get a to go box, the bill and the return of our credit card so we could leave. When the credit card was returned to the table, she just put it on the table and walked off. One hour and 30 minutes to complete dinner of one pizza and one Cesar salad.

Having grown up in a Chicago suburb, I have been longing for some Chicago deep dish for years. When I read about Chicago Fire, I could not wait to try it out. It did not disappoint. Truly reminiscent of childhood favorites, the REAL DEAL. Pizza Uno, Ginos East, Edwardos, Pizza Due...OMG I am in heaven. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the person who did the research and got this right!!! One word, CRUST. To die for. I also love the space. Great open windows for summer. My only disappointment is that everyone is finding out about this place, and on a Saturday night, there is a wait to be seated. It is ALL worth the wait.

this place does not know what a chicago deep dish is. it is like a thin crust from Chicago I am from there myself and I would know, there is some idiot that says he is from the south side but that obviously means he never had good pizza before he left his home. if you are traveling and want some good pizza this place isnt for you. people give this a good reputation for no reason. it is just dumb California people who dont know what pizza is. please goto chicago and everyone will realize. its unfortunate I have to give this review but its true, I apologize.

Excellent, the garlic buffalo wings are incredible- texture is just right, the sauce is spicy but not overwhelming. Deep dish, check. Thin crust, check. The place is incredibly busy on the weekends for dinner rush and there are no reservations so be prepared for a wait. Perfect time to sidle up to the bar and have a beer with some of those wings to hold you over. The service is great, waiters are attentive but not intrusive. They quickly cleared up a problem we had and we were totally satisfied. Its obvious that they care about repeat business.
