BEST KIMCHI EVER ! Instead of the traditional kimchi, Aura Korean & Japanese Restaurant serve a super garlicky version that will stay on your breath for days ~ but its definitely worth it lmao. Besides the kimchi, I come for their bibimguksu, which are green chlorella noodles in a sweet yet spicy sauce topped with cucumber, radish, and half an egg. The chlorella in the noodles are also v good for health by detoxifying your system. Ive also tried the kalguksoo, which is a chicken noodle soup that is the ultimate comfort food. The pork mandoo are solid but Chinese dumplings are better imo. Ive also tried the beef bulgogi, which is on the sweeter side but is still good. Definitely come try Aura Korean & Japanese Restaurant kimchi and stay for the food!

Aura at its core is a Korean restaurant that has a cozy environment, good service, and a good selection of Korean dishes/BBQ. Like many Korean restaurants in Sacramento it is a mixture of our local culture, Japanese, and Korean food. Food items range between $10 - $20. This may seem expansive at first, but with six different side complement dishes, it’s quite reasonable. Because of this ‘fusion’ approach, the food taste becomes somewhat less Korean, and its food shows. Also, the service can be slow at lunch, so may be better to order ‘to go’ if anyone just wants to have a quick bit at lunch. Although its food may not please hardcore Korean food nerds, with some hits and misses overall food taste seems to be above averaged.

I agree with the other reviews, the service was excellent. I had the beef bulgogi and it was also great. I have lived in Korea and although it wasnt as spicy as I have had in the past, the bulgogi was marinated perfectly. Also, free soju with the purchase of an OB? And the continuous delivery of sides? Way to earn return customers! I highly recommend it if you find yourself in downtown Sacramento.

Good in a pinch if youre craving Korean food while working downtown. If its dinnertime Id make the drive to Folsom Blvd for better Korean, that being said this is a decent lunch spot if youre craving Korean during your work day. Some of their lunch specials are decent, the bbq and the boxes, along with the bibimbap have been safe choices for me.

Just tried this place for the first time last night. Such a nice atmosphere and the food is absolutely delicious! We had the scallion pancakes and bulgogi soup! Our servers were very nice and took just good care of us ensuring all of our needs were met! Definitely a MUST TRY if you love Korean food! It will be a new regular spot for sure!

I had some really great kimchi tofu soup here. It wasnt as spicy as I would have liked and also wasnt very hot. Tasted good though regardless. They also gave us sake that was lukewarm. If they made everything hotter than I would have given them 5 stars.

A good place for a drink after work, located close to downtown and upper midtown. The food was so-so, nothing special or outstanding. Oh, and a free shot of sake with every drink purchase. Dangerous.

Great bibimbap, crazy fries, Taco Tuesdays for $1.99 a taco! Prices a little higher than a hole in the wall but you pay for the good ambiance and friendly staff.
