A solid 5-stars. This is my second visit. Excellent fish and chips. A great value and the fish is very crunchy, hot and tasty. If youre hungry and have a huge appetite, youll have trouble finishing their three-piece platter. Its as good as anything youll get in San Francisco, Fort Bragg or Mendocino way out on the coast... for a fraction of the cost. My meal also included a bottomless foam cup for whatever regular soft drink your heart desires. Serious good eats. The folks running this little gem of an eatery are also very, very nice and care very deeply about the quality of their food. Lastly, they keep their costs down by providing simple furnishings, so dont come here thinking youre about to dine at the Ritz Carlton. Yelpers, if you want fish and chips today, dont hesitate bringing your appetite here. Mmmm.

Excellent food, been going here for years. However, tonight I got very disappointed. I ordered the fish and prawn, two orders of mushrooms and one extra order of prawns and coleslaw. This was a to go order. I never check the packages, because I never had a problem. To my disappointment, when I arrived at home, I found only one order of mushrooms. I love those mushrooms, so thats why I am very disappointed. I called and at least she didnt charge me for 2 orders , but just for one. Also, they gave me only one ranch sauce instead of two. I wonder if the ownership has changed..... because I never had an order so carelessly prepared. So, the food is great, but they need to learn a little bit more ENGLISH! When you say two, it does not sound like one !!!

First of all the exterior of the place has made me drive right by it for the last 3 years and say...Nope! But dont let the grunge look fool you. This place is a hidden gem that must be explored. Make sure you tell them you are a new comer so the cashier can take good care of you by making all the recommendations. I ordered the fish and chips with 4 prawns. They provide you with ketchup, cocktail sauce, and tartar for your pleasure. What they dont tell you about is that table side vinegar. Unfortunately I finish my meal prior to seeing it but my co conspirator was able to make it a centerpiece. A fantastic hole in the wall location. Dont be afraid!

Been going to this little hidden gem for a few years now when Im in town. The staff is very nice and the place is clean. They have excellent fish and chips. My partner is from London and even she thinks its closer to London style than a lot of the other shops that charge a lot more. The chips are proper chips, not French fries. The fish is not greasy and its a good size portion. The outside doesnt look promising, but in the end its the food that youre there for.

Great customer service, great product, great time. Only wish they had vinegar available to go! I came in right before close while they were fulfilling a massive order for this woman ahead of me in line. I could tell they hadnt expected one old lady to order $300 worth of fish and chips, but who would 20 minutes before close? They were super patient and made my food to order. They work really hard here and it shows in the food theyre putting out.

Ive been to this Tugboat location in Rancho Cordova several times. Every visit has been consistently good. The food is excellent and the service is great. The decor isnt very good but then again, the poor decor kind of suits the place. If your in the mood for a huge quantity of deep fried food that tastes good, this is the place to go. I visited another location in Orangevale and the food wasnt as good.

Looking for fish n chips in the Sac metro zone is disheartening (usually the fish tastes like dirt, the batter is thin and separates from the fish when its touched, and the flesh more closely resembles mush than fish), so finding a place that serves well battered, nicely flaking, and fresh-tasting seafood is a super-fantastic find!

The best fish and chips with coleslaw ever!!! Fish was super fresh and perfectly battered, the fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside and coleslaw was home made fresh!! Great sauce and I cant wait to go back!! And the best customer service, these people are excellent owners/managers!!!

I absolutely love this place, glad that my husband took me here back in spring and loved them ever since. Also dont let them not "knowing" enough English be a problem. People who think like that are just out to complain and simply be rude. They know enough to communicate and they are SUPER friendly!

Excellent food. My favorite is their Thursday Fish & Calamari special. Calamari is soft, not chewy as might be expected, and tastes good with or without the sauce of your choice. I wash down each bite with a refreshing sip of their iced tea with lemon. Mmm, mmm, mmm!!!

Good fish and chips, cod would be better, but is more expensive, zucchini & condiments, ranch & tartar. Clam chowder good but a little thin and only served in winter.
