I just visited this spot saturday. My expectations were high for this place. I was given high reviews from other people, especially about the wings. I really wanted this place to be my go to spot for bbq because Im from here and hate having to go to neighboring cities for great bbq. No complaints about the environment inside, it feels cozy, service was OK but I wasnt here for those qualities, I came for great bbq. I ordered a little bit of everything, ribs, pulled pork, brisket and yes the WINGS. Ive visited many bbq restaurants in S.D. county, I have even gone to iconic places in Texas, the bbq here needs help. The only item we ordered that had stand alone smoke bbq flavor were the wings. Having to put bbq sauce on cooked meats is NOT bbq, the techniques of smoking and applied rub is key to great bbq. Bbq is made with love and again only the wings felt the love here. The sides we had were good, again I was here for lip smacking bbq. There were other thing that rubbed me the wrong way but I can live with that, the food should be the advocate for any establishment. Sadly I will not return for the bbq here, there are other "known" places in North County to visit for great bbq. But if I ever want great wings and beer Ill think about stopping in. Food is a 1 star but the wings are a 5, overall this spot is average.

Buckle your seat belts because this place is legit as hell. We walked in and it was an awesome place to sit. The sweet tea was actually real sweet tea and not that fake garbage they sell everywhere else. Your gonna order an appetizer of fries, and your gonna order them the way you like your women. Dirty AF. Between me and my 3 buds we devoured the while bowl faster than an alcoholic at happy hour after payday. I came on a Monday and the beer was 2 bucks, so you can bet this place will help you get filled. I ordered the brisket sandwhich and I nearly fell out of my chair because it blew me away faster than a chihuahua in hurricane Katrina. The beef melted in my mouth, and the BBQ sauce was more legit than a paid day off. Every point from here on out in a down point in my life. This place was awesome and if you dont come here you are not a human being.

We just moved to Oceanside 6 months ago, and dont know too many places yet. We took our Son out for dinner last night and allowed him to pick... Good thing too, because the food and service were both amazing! The Dirty Fries are incrediable, even my husband thought so and Fries arent really his thing... Hes not really a fried food eater. p.s. if you are like me and have always thought Fried Chicken & Waffles... Gross... THINK AGAIN! The waffles were thick and light and Cruchy on the outside and light and fluffly on the inside, cooked just perfectly, and the Chicken was boneless and cruchy on the outside and tender on the inside and absolulty delicious.

We accidentally stumbled into this joint looking for a quick bite during our lunch break. We were so pleasantly surprised that we came back the next day! Chicken and waffles (with rosemary-infused syrup) was excellent. The smoked brisket sandwich the next day was equally awesome. I loved the collard greens -- they were spicy instead of vinegary and were cooked to the perfect texture (a rarity in a world of sour, limp greens). Having Kool-Aid for the first time in twenty years was an extra little joy. T.B.G. has been starred in my google map and I will definitely be eating here whenever Im in town!

I recommend their signature dirty fries. Their catfish is perfect. I like the added touch of serving it with a grilled lemon wedge & their house dipping sauce is divine. I also like the bbq beef links and mac & cheese which has a little diced jalapeno in it. The sweet tea will give anyone from the Southeast a taste of home, so will the overall ambiance. The corn bread could be improved. If you have leftover dirty fries, heat & crisp them a bit in your skillet the next day and serve with eggs. These are the only fries Ive ever enjoyed as leftovers.

Great food. Relaxed, friendly, fun, local, atmosphere. Amazing Bloody Mary. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Prices were great and the portions generous. My Bloody Mary was lunch in itself topped with a meaty rib, celery, pickled green bean, okra and olive. It was delicious. I ordered catfish strips and slaw to go along with my centerpiece beverage. My son ordered the Dirty Fries. It was all good. Full bar, draft selection was interesting and well paired with the food offerings. The servIce was spot on, very genuine. We will definitely be back!

One word, authentic. This place doesnt fake, you can tell the second you walk in through the squeaky door and look up at the funny anecdotes lining the wall and the two aged sofas sitting in the entry that you are in a home cooked joint. The barbecue sauces are some of the best Ive tasted and the pulled pork has excellent flavor and texture . Service was quick and friendly , and the whole meal for me and my girlfriend with drinks was around 25 . Will definitely come back for more. I hear the chicken and waffles are amazing.

Today I met with a young couple who are planning their wedding. This location seemed the best for all. We had never been there. We all loved it. The interior is very rustic. There was a constant smell of wood burning in the air. You would expect this if the smoking was being done at the location. The owner, Matt, was very friendly and welcoming. The food was great. I had the catfish sandwich while the couple had a pulled pork sandwich and BBQ chicken. It was a great Experience for all. Prices are reasonable. Father Tom.

I came here on a Wednesday around 2pm. It was a little crowded but the host suggested I sit at the bar. I took his suggestion and was greeted promptly by the bartender. Within minutes of placing my order my food was placed before me in all its glory. I had a half rack of ribs and it was delicious! I got beans and Mac and cheese for sides and as you can guess.... ALSO DELICIOUS. The bartender Matt was great as well. He makes a killer Old Fashioned. Highly recommend eating here.

Ordered the dirty fries to go today and when I got home I notice there was no ranch no BBQ sauce no plasticwear nothing. Thats fine other than the fact that when I was there I asked for ranch and she said she personally put it in the bag with napkins and everything. Interesting. It was busy but cmon now. Also once I took a bite the fries were raw as hell very mushy disgusting. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED. Not my first time going there but definitely my last...

Small, with a great dive bar feel -- noisy, gritty, home-quality food. Best BBQ Ive had in southern california so far. The fried chicken is also absurdly delicious (even better than the bbq) and they have some of the beers San Diego has to offer (Modern Times Black House is my particular favorite and they have it here). Parking is sometimes tough, but you can usually get within a block or two and walking is easy/safe here, even at night.
