5/15/17 Before last weekends flight to Seattle, boyfriend and I stopped here for a fast bite since Southwest had an hour delay and we had time to kill. We had Bloody Marys and shrimp nachos ($14.71 for the food). The nachos were delicious with plenty of cheese and shrimp baked over crispy tortilla chips. Unfortunately they ran out of salsa at the bar but the service and food was otherwise great. 5/25/14 (3-star) All I wanted before my one-hour flight to Orange County was a quick bite, so I stopped at Oakland Airports Andale for a couple of veggie tacos ($10.25) and some chips for the salsa bar. Darling at the register asked if I wanted them fajita style or ranchera. I asked what the difference was and she said fajita had vegetables and ranchera had sauce. I couldnt picture what crispy tacos full of sauce would look like, so I ordered the fajita-style grilled veggies. (I later looked up ranchera on their online menu and it described that style as tofu sautéed with Serrano salsa - sounds awesome!) A huge basket of chips arrived ($4.50). I had only wanted enough for one person so I was a little upset that she hadnt told me the plate COMES with chips for the salsa bar. My plate had a lot of chips on it so the big extra basket was just wasted. I wasnt about to pack it up to carry onto the plane. The chips were pretty good I guess but I think an employee should ask if someone means a giant basket full. She did ask me if I wanted the chips and guacamole option when she was ringing me up, and since I had seen this on their menu I guess I thought that by declining that I was declining actually purchasing chips. I wasnt given my receipt after my purchase, and since I wanted to see how much Id paid for these I had to ask for it when the food was brought out. Twice! A small Mexican Coke for $3.25 brought my lunch to over $20, after taxes and the airport fee for health care (2%). Id eat here - the food wasnt bad - but Id definitely pay more attention to what I was ordering and paying for next time.

I got the Chipotle burrito which honestly wasnt half bad. At 11 dollars I feel like the price is a little steep however being airport food Im willing to overlook that. My main complaint comes from Perea. I dont know if she was just having a bad day or what, there was no acknowledgement, we double checked to make sure she rang us up correctly (my father in law grabbed a beverage at the last minute) and she rolled her eyes and nodded. Didnt say yes, just nodded. We waited for our total which we didnt get she just stuck her hand out waiting for payment. Im sorry but in this day and age with everyone needing jobs Im surprised management has kept this person around. What would have been a 4 or 5 star experience turned into a 1 star. Im giving an additional 1 for food because I was actually surprised with the quality of the food.

This comment is in regards to the ridiculous 2% health surcharge added to the bill. I have never seen this before and it was not disclosed before ordering. This surcharge, paid by consumers, goes to a union to pay for their members health insurance. I pay for my own health insurance and also other peoples through federal taxes. Why should I also pay for union members health insurance as well? Glad I dont live in California. By the way, service was good and I tipped appropriately. Same as any other state without unions off setting their fees to consumers in the form of a surcharge.

Service in the morning is hectic between the hours of 7-10am. With a three hour flight ahead, I just order whatever sounds tasty and satisfying at the time being. Ended up with coffee from Peets and a breakfast burrito. Workers are pretty fast at getting your order together. Just be aware that ordering a special order required a wait time of twenty minutes or longer. In this case thats what happens to me. If you must eat just opt for the premade items. Theyll forget about your order after handing you the receipt.

We came for the Huevos Rancheros but were side tracked by the Huevos con Chorizo and the Fish Burrito. Fabulous. Best refrained beans maybe ever. Great guaq. And the salsa bar was right out of Mexico city. The Chipotle salsa was perfection. You guys are doing it right!

As far as airport food goes, at least in this airport, I think this is hard to beat if you need to grab something for the plane. The Chipotle burrito has sauce on top which is good, but make sure you get a knife and fork.

Went there close to closing time. They took my order but when I asked for salsa for tacos got lots of attitude. Dont take my order if you dont want to provide service.

Best vegan burrito. I always have a difficult time finding good vegan food. Little pricey but the food was great.
