Noooo go to the location in Santa Monica its worth the drive trust me! Ok yes the food is pretty much the same but its the tropical-like ambiance that makes a WORLD of difference! I always take my friends & family visiting from out of town and they always love it! Its right on the beach and the dining area is on a patio. The reggae, tropical music, flowers & cool breeze creates a unique and impressive dining experience. I made the mistake of visiting the sfv location and I was so disappointed with the lack of cheeerful customer service and Caribbean vibes that the Ocean Blvd location offers.

The coconut fried chicken was AWFUL! The batter was doughy and far too thick. The chicken itself was mushy to the point of disintegrating in my mouth. We also tried the empanadas. We ordered one of each, beef, chicken and vegie. We couldnt tell the difference! When we told this to our waiter(who was very nice BTW) he insisted that they were all as we had ordered them. Sorry, but I dont buy that. I used to be a fan when they were on Ventura a few years ago, but not anymore.

This is a great spot to get your jerk chicken craving satisfied. The cha cha chicken is delicious and will melt in your mouth. Their coconut fried chicken is also not a bad choice as you can devour the skin by itself with the flavor profiles their infuse inside of it. To wash down these delicious delights, you can get a ginger beer. Service was great as Nathan made sure our needs were met. Parking was a non issue as you parked in the mini mall lot.

Interesting food if you like Caribbean cuisine, but having been taken there by a friend’s mother, I had no choice but to find the least crazy item. What I had was good. A simple side order of sweet potatoes, corn on the cob a muffin. My friend got the coconut batter chicken, and by the look on her face, it wasnt the best choice. It was a little too crispy. There was only one other table full of people. This tells me its not a popular place.

I got the infamous coconut chicken - half chicken cut in 5 pieces. The breast, which I ate first, was dry. I almost gave up on the dish. However, the thigh, the wing, and the leg were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Those pieces made the meal good. Giving it a 3-star for this experience. Ill be back to try the restaurant namesake, the Cha Cha Chicken if I get the chance to be in the area again.

Walked in because we were in the mood for some jerk chicken and there were red flags everywhere . First thing is, how do you misspell Puerto Rico? That was a red flag . My main complaint is, please dont advertise jerk chicken if you dont know how to make it. They gave us Six quarter size pieces of dry chicken with some tang sauce on the side. Terrible.

Hidden in a strip mall, you have to try them. The food is really good. Caribbean food has a lot of variety and you get the Jamaican food and also Latino Caribbean food. Try the Cha Cha Chicken, portion is also pretty good. Jerk Chicken or the Coconut chicken r also pretty good. Try their flan, if u have a sweet tooth.

A hidden gem in sfv! Good food and nice staff. Their coconut fried chicken was tasty and the corn muffins appetizing. Nice to find a unique restaurant on this side of town that is warm and welcoming to customers. I will definitely be back soon! Have to try the chicken mole.....

Although it lacks the beach ambiance that the Ocean Blvd location has, the food is just as good & you can hear the music. Theres 2 TVs but youll be too busy stuffing your face to be concerned w/ whatever is on the tube. This place is an experience in and of itself.

Just because someone hands you a jar or jerk sauce doesnt mean you automatically know how to use it. I had the Salmon Negri with corn and plantains, and I was not at all impressed. Salmon is eh. The mango-guava fresca was very nice though.

Recommend the Ropa Viejo and the jerk chicken. Their Agua frescos are really good too. The place looks small from the outside but its pretty big once you go in. Recommend the tables by the window

None of the same charm as the Santa Monica shop (and no BYOB!). The coconut chicken was also super disappointing here. The breading was way too thick so it was a bit soggy. Not worth it.

I love this place taste like authentic Caribbean food! Great service and spot. The only problem is their listing of hours are not accurate especially for holidays.

Food is terrific, but service is a little suspect. My appetizers, for example, arrived after my main order inexplicably since it was only chips and salsa.

Its rather expensive & I got sick from their food( twice!).I dk if it was food poisoning or just the fact that jerk chicken & plantains dont agree w/me.

I use to go here a lot with my coworkers years ago. I went again the other week and still think it is my favorite Cha Cha spot.

The food was expensive and a jole. No real service the music was too loud as well. Not worth a 37 dollar lunch.
