TODAY 8/7/17: I gave this a high star rating but today I had the absolute worst experience at a breakfast house! Our waiter was disgraceful! Extremely impolite and rude! I ordered her usual plate, and they gave me wheat bread uncooked, cold. I sent it back and then they never gave me my order! I was charged three times. Complained. They waitress said I ate all the food and the neighbors around me said I only took a bite! WHY would I eat terrible cold and UNCOOKED food?!?! The manager was extremely impolite defending the waitress because apparently customers ARE NOT important at this restaurant. Really disappointed in the restaurant I have gone their several times before and I hate to say this but I will NEVER GO BACK. I highly recommend finding a better service restaurant especially during the WEEK! ______________________________ Incredible plates. The menu is very organized, perfect amount of options to choose from. Absolutely delicious breakfast! This is probably the best Ive had in a long time. From the breakfast burrito, to the lobster benedict to the potato pancakes, very delicious and flavorful spices and ingredients. All the ingredients play apart in creating every dish, they are fresh tasting and refreshing. (In the process of writing) One of the only things was the side potatoes should be cooked more.

We were a party of 7, although they couldnt take a reservation, they said they had two large tables, so we went. We arrived at 11:30 am (had a gymnastics event to get to by 1:30), the hostess was pleasant but we had to wait 35 minutes to be seated (well, we were a large party). But then it took 10 more minutes before a waitress came to take our order. And then we waited, and waited some more for our food and when after another 15 minutes we asked about it we received a lecture: "Everyone waits to be seated, everyone waits to order, everyone waits for their food...you should have expected to be here for two hours when you came". She also said "our ticket was next" - not started preparation yet? No apology whatsoever. Food finally served at 12:40 and though tasty, healthful, and plentiful the experience definitely marred by the ridiculous service PLUS a bill including a mandatory, undeserved 20% gratuity! Oh yeah, the "South Pine" salad that was billed to include feta and Greek olives though quite good contained neither feta nor olives that anyone could find. So if you dont mind a very long wait, and dont mind being lectured to, go there. Moreover, none of our party expects to return.

The food was delicious and the staff was amazing . However, when the check came we were charged $6 extra . Wasnt a big deal, but the waitress was very persistent that it was correct . Eventually it was resolved ,once we spoke with the manager but it took about 20 minutes and the waitress told another person in my party that I didnt tip (I tipped $10 my bill was $17) and had the person in my party pay more money. Meanwhile, there was already an $18 tip included in the check . Just make sure you review your checks afterwards . Foods delicious, might as well get it to go.

Super solid breakfast/lunch spot in Grass Valley. I live right up the street, and frequent this place. Love how they have lobster bennie, lobster scramble, and lobster tacos. I was raised on trips to Maine so thats a big selling point, and the lobster benedict is just amazing. Lots of options if you dont like lobster though, with good daily specials, homemade muffins, a variety of healthier/vegetarian options, and a good selection of beers. Oh, and the fresh lemonades are bomb.

We are from NJ and have been in the Grass Valley and Nevada City area for 2 days both days we ate at South Pine café, the food was amazong, great gluten free options and vegetarian fare. The dressing on the Asian salad is out of this world so much so that we had to buy some to take back with us for dinner tonight. Great atmosphere, great service, fantastic food. I just wish that they were also in NJ so we could go more often. Highly recommend!

Lobster Benedict, order the eggs over medium and the hollandaise on the side. Youre welcome! Its good the original way, but that lobster with runny yolk changes lives! Everything there is good. Warning, the Ketchup is homemade, not very good if you ask my wife, i ran down tot he liquor store to get her some Heinz... doesnt warrant a star removal, because i dont care!

Had the breakfast special- best breakfast Ive ever had!! Pretty busy place, but not a long wait and the servers are all amazing. I guess sometimes there is a little wait, but our service was fast, efficient, and just overall perfect. Dont be in a hurry, just sit down, relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and better yet, the food!

Got the eggs Benedict (lobster), it was ...ok, the home fries it came with were really undercooked (raw). Service was great and the server offered to get me new home fries. I would rate this place as a 3.5 but Im willing to bet that the other options they serve are better then what I had.

The brie grilled cheese was so good. The mushrooms & pesto were perfect & then they gilded the lily with a Parmesan crust! The special soup was carrot & ginger & Ill be thinking about it forever. Service was attentive & friendly, prices were GREAT! What are you waiting for? Go now!

Great food and friendly staff. We also love that they have a "gratitude meal" donation program. Last time we visited they had 7 breakfast burritos ($8.50) that had been donated by guest for the local homeless. We like this much better than giving money to homeless on the street.

The food was great and the service was good. The reason for the four star rating was that the silverware was dirty. We "misplaced" our silverware (no, we didnt steal it! We put in on another table.)and had cleaner ones given to us.

This place is great! One of my favs here in my home town. Consistently one of the best, super fast, and friendly staff. The food is always fresh homemade, even the juices, and jam, down to the ketchup and sauces. Love this place!

The food is good, atmosphere is nice, but how can they not have air conditioning in such a hit place? Its not a rare thing to have 100+ degrees in nevada city, and people are dripping sweat. Would have been 4 stars otherwise
