We mostly visit this coffee shop because of the location and familiarity. Over the past few years, I cant remember ever seeing the same face behind the counter twice. We tend to go 3-4 times a month. We usually get a chai and sprinkle some of the chocolate powder on top of it. Its always been good and hot. Its very small and we usually dont hang out longer than the time it takes to eat any food purchased. The wait on the coffee is pretty normal - they usually arent very busy - I think a line of three people is the longest Ive ever seen. Ive never seen it empty during business hours. With the great variety of people behind the counter, Ive experienced a small range of service - though I can never remember anyone being outright rude to me.

The coffee was ok but the attitude of the staff was awful. I complained about the quality of my capuccino yesterday to a young woman working there- she implied that I didnt know what a capuccino was....having spent a considerable time in Italy, I can assure you that this was nothing like one! Worst of all however was how she dealt with my complaint- just very rude.

My friend and I sat down before we ordered coffee. Literally within seconds of sitting, an employee asks us to leave because seats are only for customers !! . I tell him Ill order something in a couple of minutes. But he goes haywire with racial slurs. I called the police. Avoid this place. The owner is an idiot for hiring such scum.

A popular coffee and tea place. Lots of locals hang out here on a daily basis. A bit too busy and noisy for me personally for working but i see a lit of people on their laptops inside. *PERK: Offers a 10% discount with any student ID!* Fruit smoothies, blended coffee drinks, selection of teas, pastries. Usually crowded.

Great tea/coffee. Fantastically friendly staff. Very relaxed atmosphere with your stereotypical assortment of studying college students and older folks reading newspapers. has a great feel and is certainly a place youd like to relax in for a few hours during a rainy day. 10/10 would use as a setting for a classy novel.

I made the mistake of asking if they sold rooibos tea. The cashier responded by gesturing to some of the tea and asking me back, "I dont know, do I have that?" and promptly turning and walking away. I was shocked and speechless. Although I usually like plumes, I dont think ill be going back.

My favorite coffee shop in town. A little corner shop, always filled with people old and young alike, from the study group of college students to the tourist catching up with friends. Plus an excellent selection of coffee, always fresh ground and brewed by the cup so always fresh.

Been going to this establishment for a few years and my daughter actually works there. New owner now...much better. Staff is very friendly (including my daughter) and service was great. I will admit the previous owner made the place bad..just his attitude was terrible.

Quaint little coffee shop that has been around for years. Very friendly staff. The pastries are good and they have a good variety. The location is great, if you want to sit and pass the time. You have good views to watch the downtown crowd.

Lots of coffee, tea & other beverage options with an assortment of small eats and desserts. If you are on the run, this cafe offers much faster service than the cafe across the street which caters more to sit-down table-service diners.

I just dropped in and was pleasantly surprised by the changes. The new owner is very welcoming and makes it the friendliest place in Monterey. The pastry was fresh and the coffee tasteful. I certainly plan on coming back.

Friendly staff and terrific hand poured coffee. I am not a coffee expert but I told the barista what I liked and he steered me to a delicious varietal from guatemala that he brewed ip on about 5 min.

A cozy place. Walked in there looking for a meal and the owner welcomed us. Very good service, the food tasted great. We tried the red-eye coffee, which was really good. Recommended!

The Coffee was OK. The owner was working the counter and was extemly rude. You would think it would be in his best interest to treat his customers as customers and not as a vagabond.

The service here is constantly fast and friendly. The overall quality of the food is outstanding and the prices are reasonable especially for being in the very center of Monterey.

מקום שקט ונחמד, סנדוויצים טעימים וקפה שנטחן במקום לפני ההכנה.

Gave me mint tea that I did not order and also forgot about my breakfast sandwich. Asked for a refund and could not credit my card back but gave me cash, which I disliked.

The place is fun and engaging. The coffee is moderately good. Overall, I would pick this place over a multi-billion dollar mult-national corporation any day of the week.

This is a great local coffee house! The food and coffee were great, I got the Mexican Mocha, and the ambiance was fun. I am new to the area and intend to come here often.

Owner is rude and ignorant. Coffee is good but way expensive, continually treat students like second class customers. My advice... lumiere coffee/theater right next door.

One of the best coffee houses I have been to in Monterey. Love the staff and the coffee is always great. Great downtown location as well.

Decent coffee, good pastries. Location was the best part - middle of downtown and nice to sit and watch the people go by in the morning

Good coffee and good selection of fresh baked goods. There is plenty of seating inside that look over the main street.

PA

Great local cafe with huge windows for people watching. Provides a student discount for local colleges/universities

NA

Bland food, simultsneously watered down and burnt coffee, no porcelain for coffee. Not much by way of personality.

Service is disjointed. Pastries are meh. My Americano tasted like a Folgers.
