Be prepared for very loud rock and roll music most of the time. The food and coffee are good, (actually offers sandwiches and things that are not soaked in sugar),---but like so many places in Carmel that survive off of guaranteed tourism, the customer service is often poor. While the young students who work there are usually nice, the owner is only friendly to her selected few patrons ---all others get the snub ice treatment. (No, it doesnt matter how friendly you are to her!.... Why do people like this go into the hospitality business???) This really detracts from a friendly atmosphere, ----

Worst cafe in Carmel. The owner should keep his hands to himself, and the managers should treat their employees like human beings. I risked my job at the chocolate shop next door when I saw the manager abusing them, and I tried to intervene. Gave the nasty manager, Andrea, a note about the problems rather than embarrass her during her meeting with employees. She crumpled up my note without reading it. The note asked her to please avoid shouting about the trash not being taken out two yards from our chocolate shops door.

Fantastic Darkroast and Fog-lifter and baked goods. I always like to support local coffee houses when I can and this one was not only good, it was comfortable and relaxing. The staff were pleasant and helpful on local directions. It was my pit stop the two days I was in Carmel... recommended. Dont know what the two and one star commenters (haters) are talking about, not the experience I had in the two visits I had

Support local businesses. They make great coffee, have decadent fresh pastries every morning, cool open friendly, inclusive setting and the staff is super friendly locals typically working their way through school. I wouldnt go anywhere else for my coffee.

Very middle of the road espresso. Not acidic or nutty, that said it was pulled very well and they understood how to use their Nuova machine. I thoroughly enjoyed my espresso beverage. It is loud due to the tile, but in an Italian restaurant way.

Great little coffee shop, and its LOCAL! Its also nestled in one of the quaintest shopping centers Ive ever been to. If you want some local coffee while perusing some cool little local shops, then check this place out :)
