My Advice: go to Firefly Coffee House any morning around 9am and get a fresh homemade bagel. Your high expectations will be exceeded. It is a delight to experience a Bagel that exceeds all expectations and any customer that visits Firefly will know this delight. Ive tried some of the breakfast meals and I always get a bagel. The food and service are like walking into a B&B for breakfast and getting top-notch cooking with serious love invested into the preparation. A great place to take your kids on a Saturday morning; a wonderful spot to enjoy a paper, a warm drink, and a bagel; an escape from the craziness of Pacific Street. Im moving out of Santa Cruz in a month and I often wonder what I will miss and where I will visit when Im back in town. Firefly Coffee House will see me every time I return. Thanks to the staff for your hospitality and the delicious food.

I walked up to the building to ask if the restroom were available and they werent very helpful. I got one guy that stated that it would be ok if they were open but doesnt know if theyre open(Which they werent). So I ask do you know where another bathroom is?, then another person stated that there was oneat another cafe but she pointing to an ally and then saying its on the opposite side of the building. A no would have worked but I guess when theres a party it doesnt matter.

Tiny cafe. Very hipster. Really not clean. I saw a mildew-looking stain on the wall, the window sill was grimy, and in 15 minutes sitting at the counter I had to crush several ants. Gross. $2.25 for a small tea with a generic, cheap tea bag seems pretty steep as well, and that was during their "happy hour". The game/book cabinet is cute, but the three indoor tables are so tiny I have no idea where youd play.

Its got that, "we really dont care what you think, kinda feel to it, but in a good way. Shelf if books nobody reads, couple tables inside, few more out. But very friendly staff, and not in a Target Greeter way. Genuine interest in you. Everyone seemed to know everyone. The selection was fine and the products were great.

Just was close and decided to stop in traveling through Santa Cruz. Was not disappointed at all! The chai was like nothing Ive had before, light and creamy and flavorful! Then sat for a couple hours and then got a bagel. Two words "avocado hummus" Highly recommended, cool little place to hang out for sure

I brought my mom here while we were on our Santa Cruz vacation. I got the nutty Irishman and she got plain coffee. I absolutely loved mine and we are coming back tomorrow we also both got bagels that were great. If you want to go to a cute quiet little coffee shop this is your spot!

I dont think Ive had a better bagel anywhere. Perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. If you havent tried fireflys bagels you are missing out. I recommend getting there early so the bagels will be fresh and they wont be sold out of their more popular ones.

Excellent and reasonably priced coffee, fresh HOMEMADE bagels, and a comfortable and friendly environment. Without a doubt, the best bagel Ive *ever* had. They are made using fresh ingredients and the selection varies daily (e.g., jalapeno and cheese, tomato basil, etc).

Nice ambience, great coffee but, why did the staff switch the mug that she originally gave me for my coffee? For a mug from under the counter with a chip in it?. I had to use the mug backwards so I would not have to drink my coffee with a chip on the rim.

Aside from the chai, which they make the best, being with the people who work here is like being with a family. They care. They welcome everyone, no matter how "strange" they may appear. I feel at home here. IT is like the world compressed.

What a cool little coffee shop! Was here with my kids last summer....enjoyed our coffee and bagels so much we came back the next morning. I live up the peninsula so not in town, but when I come back to SC I will come back.

Nice folks, delicious baked goods, yummy hot chocolate, and sustainable practices. Better walk or bike it though — only a few parking spots in the lot and on the street. A nice place to stop by on your way to the beach. :)

+1 to "the best damn chai". My girlfriend had been searching for chai just like this forever. Good coffee too, and the people and location were fun too. If I lived there, I would be there every morning

Quaint little coffee shop serving some good $2 coffee when youre on the go. They have a nice patio you can read or type under. The atmosphere is a cabin-esque wood interior.

So friendly and so good! As a native New Yorker living on the best coast I will be the first to tell you these bagels are all the way west coast and all the way amazing.

The decaffeinated chai + almond milk was OK, nothing impressive. The staff seem a bit spacey. Outdoor seating available, Wi-Fi is not very fast.

Not a huge fan of the coffee here but the food is great and the Chai and London Fog are outstanding. Small and personal atmosphere.

Nice people serving but takes a very long time. Worker touches food without hand protection and also touches money.
