Took my fiance here for her 30th birthday (and long overdue review). Short version, absolutely recommend! Long version: It was a nearly empty Thursday night, and I already knew it was going to be a perfect night! The restaurant is elegant (to me). Im no fine dining, French Laundry enthusiast, smugly rich kind of guy. The lighting was perfectly between bright and romantically dim. Very clean and tables are spaced out nicely! The staff is super nice, accommodating, yet not overbearing. My fiance and I barely ever noticed that our waters or glasses of wine were filled, which truly made us feel separated from the world, yet served. Kudos to the serving/front staff! The food was absolutely delicious! I had the special lamb chops and she had the filet. We paired our meal with a cabernet that went excellently with the food. We still talk about the meal over a month later. In fact, we want to go back to try the Tuesday night fried chicken! We cannot wait till we can!

This is the second time I have visited Menlo Grill and it was a last minute call for dinner on Thanksgiving. I was thrilled that it has a nice (but small) selection of vegan selections (had to ask to remove the cheese on my salad) but it was all very good. The service was excellent and friendly. Giving it three stars now, will give it four stars if I visit again and it has a little larger selection of vegan foods.

I have eaten here a couple times and also just come in for drinks as well. I usually stay in the hotel when visiting Palo Alto. The bartenders are great, they make a good range of cocktails and have a respectable wine list. I have enjoyed the food I have had there, last time I had the filet and really enjoyed it. The services has always been impeccable.

A group of us came here dressed in t-shirts and jeans, and we were still treated great. The kitchen was very accommodating regarding dietary restrictions. Everyone was happy with their food, and the chef was apparently bored that night, because we got samples of an experimental asparagus soup.

We live in the area but had not thought of going to the restaurant at this high end hotel until we learned they had no corkage fee. It was not as good as we were hoping. Too brightly lit to be a good date night restaurant. Food was OK, but not very creative.

This place has good food, although not many options for vegetarians. It gets 4 stars rather than 3 due to no corkage fee and the cozy, casually elegant atmosphere. Feels like a dinner getaway since its tucked into the cute grounds of the stanford park hotel.

The quality of the antipasto plate was terrible, the Nicoise salad had no dressing and no flavor. The service staff was fine but I dont understand why people go back for the food.

Nice and quiet. Nice bathroom with cloth towels. Easy access to Stanford University. Free parking. Reservations are accepted for breakfast too.
