So the place overall is ok. Ive been there about 4 times now and some how get screwed on my tab in form or another. Highly doubt ill go back. I didnt that if I pay with a card I get charged tax but when I pay cash I dont. When the hell should that matter?? And no only have it happened to me a couple of times but apparently im not the only one that has a couple extra drinks charged on my tab. So after after those two things I would rather take the drive over the hill to the to the bars in highland park.

I was extremely surprised at how nice this bar was, as I was expecting it to be a real dive. Its pretty large inside with ample seating. It has an overall rustic feel with a taxidermied boars head over the bar, hence the name. The beers were a little pricey, but there was a decent selection and the bartenders were swiftly attentive and friendly. I will definitely be going back here.

One thing leads to another and you find yourself at the Black Boar, sipping a great drink next to entertaining, friendly people listening to the violent femmes. It felt surreal but maybe just another night at the Black Boar. Classic bar. Really friendly and knowledgeable barkeeps.

I wouldnt consider this a dive bar although it looks like would be. Great place for a whiskey they have tons of options. The drinks are strong and I dont think I ever left here sober

Great spot in Eagle Rock thats like a mix of Bigfoot Lodge and The Griffin. Its a small cozy place thats good to hang out with friends.

Drinks are good. Always have a good drink special. Bartenders fast. Nice dark ambiance with a small patio to enjoy.
