I am giving a 1 star ,not for the food or service that i personally received but,while i was at islands a young man came in to apply for a position in the kitchen ,,i was observing ,very respectful clean cut ,but had tattoos ,,he was told by the hostess that their company does not hire people that look like him ,i was disgusted.I myself am a business owner and have several people with body art that are very experienced,hard working , no different from any one else ,i thought in 2016 people would be over the discrimination .I myself have lots of art on my body and feel kind of offended you will happily take my money ,but when another man/woman looking the same comes for employment ,you throw who he/she is in their face .I am sorry to say but Islands you have lost a long time loyal customer .Good luck

Our waitress was great. She talked with us and explained items on the menu that we had questions about. She was great. The French fries were great. Crispy and tender fries that tasted great. They brought me some spicy mayo that was fantastic. That same spicy mayo was found on my burger. The mayo complimented the entire burger and really sealed the deal that most of the burger was great. The bun was soft but held together for the entire eating process. The bun was also toasted perfectly, not enough to cut my gums but enough to add some crunch. The bacon was fine. It was a little thin but tasted great. The patty was also on the thin side. It was cooked medium and was tasty but it was a bit thin for the price of the burger.

My boyfriend and I had a giftcard for Yardhouse, but it was too busy so we headed on over to Islands to enjoy a nice meal after a day of hiking. We both ordered a burger and fries. When they came out both of our fries were basically little niblets, all burnt and cold. My BF got some sort of BBQ burger which was great but mine the "bleunami" was so awful. I couldnt finish it and was sick to my stomach. The waitress was very understanding about the fries and got us a new basket of fries free of charge. Later she called the manager over and when I explained the problem he took my entree off the total.

My Husband and I went to Islands this past weekend, and it was great! We asked to be seated in the patio area, since it was a really nice hot day. We ordered appetizers and they were brought to us in less than 5 mins. Then we ordered our burgers and in about 10 mins, our food was ready. Although the burgers are about $10, they are definetly worth it. They are huge!!!! We were the only ones outside, so I was concerned they would forget about us, but the waiter checked on us every few mins. Service was great and food was DELICIOUS!!

Living in Long beach we should never order chili fries from anywhere but Louis, i wanted to give them a try at Islands. They serve you up a nice portion of fries but when i comes to chili its like they forgot to warm up more so you get the left overs and when asked for more chili (cause whenn you think of chili fries you imagine a heepinng amount of chili ad not naked fries with a lack of the "chili" in the chili fries). They bring you the least amount possible that you look around to see if youre being pranked

Great place for family birthdays or to watch the game in the bar. Drinks are well poured for the price. Arrive early if you want a good table. As most people know parking in this area is a little problematic unless you dont mind the stroll from the parking structure to the restaurant. If you live local I recommend taking an Uber or taxi. The staff is always friendly and on top of things. Endless fries, great drinks, and plenty of big screen coverage make this a good place to get together with friends.

I went to this restaurant a few weeks ago and spent 20 minutes waiting to order, 15 minutes waiting for our waters, which were brought out 3 different times and another 45 minutes waiting for our appetizers. Because we had an interview planned for 7, we were forced to take our food to go. The food was awful. It was cold and poorly made. Our waiter also brought us our checks after 10 minutes of waiting, making us late. Would not return. I suggest the California Pizza Kitchen across the way.

Great place to eat! The food is good, the themed decor makes you feel like youre on vacation, the service is nice. And the prices are reasonable. Good place to stop and enjoy a bite as you walk around rainbow harbor and the Pike. Restrooms are neat and well maintained. The wait was extremely minimal. The place is really nice. Outdoor seating is available where you have nice views of the Pike area and convention center. The lights in the evening really make for a beautiful evening.

Nothing Special. Stopped here with my girlfriend after shopping a bit in the area, just hungry for a burger so we dropped in. Prices are ehh, not cheap but not terribly expensive either. Pricey Drinks/Beers however. Got a pretty greasy burger, the toppings were very nice but the burger itself was more bland than a fast-food frozen puck burger! Not exactly a "Fine Burger", it was passable. Service was very slow and it took forever to get the check and takeaway containers.

Staff friendly enough and food was nice but main course served while still eating appetizer: this resulted in a lovely Hula with veggie burger and fries being cold. Not an uncommon serving practice I have found during this vacation to Long Beach; shame as it makes you feel hurried to eat and leave. Some restaurants get it right, with just enough time between courses - Islands will Im sure. Otherwise, a lovely place, thanks.

Service was great, I had no problem with seating and ordering. I did was brought out on time. My Malibu burger tasted great, but the fries were bad. They felt old and stiff (like when you reheat fries in the microwave) and most of the fries were small bits. We also got the chicken wings and they were so nasty and mushy. There was no crunch to them. I doubt wed go back after have such a bad experience with the food.

I walk over to place an order for take out, stood there at counter for 3 to 5 minutes, no one ask if I needed to order, I sat at bar counter, no one ask if I would like to order. I had to ask for help. There were several people walking around me. I thought it was rude, and soon as another couple sat down the bar attendant was all over them. Customer service was definitely off tonight.

Mein absolutes lieblingslokal in Long Beach. Die Küche ist zwar typisch amerikanisch aber doch irgendwie anders. Der Preis ist ok und der Geschmack ist super. Nur zu empfehlen.

Worst food I have had in a long time anywhere! Ordered a simple burger and the meat could have doubled for a Kings hockey puk it was so overcooked / nearly burned. Fries were like they had swept what was left off the floor and the onion rings were again overcooked and tastless. I would have been better off at McDs or Burger King at least it may have been edible!
