Nestled in a somewhat unassuming location, between a hardware store and a veterinary office, off of Niguel and Crown Valley, you will find a very basic storefront that does not inspire greatness. I beg of you, please, do not let outward appearances fool you! The moment you walk in the door, you are greeted by the very warm and hospitable staff, who will do their very best to make sure that you are comfortable and seated promptly. The decor is mild with a slight Asian twist, which proves comfortable, but not elegant. The menu is simple, but offers plenty of choices for the stubborn and selective eaters among us. Each server is more than knowledgeable of the food, and offer a nice wine selection to compliment your selection. Also served is a selection of beer, and chilled sake. Of the many times I have been to the moon, the special has usually been catfish, each time prepared differently than the time before. The flavors of each dish is unique, and never overpowering, unlike many commercialized Chinese restaurants. With so many places to eat, I hardly return to even the most memorable places. But, somehow their friendly staff with likely the best customer service I have ever seen, has won my heart- or more importantly my stomach. I will certainly return time and again, and highly recommend this restaurant to any of my closest friends.

I ordered hot and sour soup, crab wontons, spring rolls, orange chicken, chicken lo mein and sesame chicken to go for my family. The hot and sour soup has an added herb no Chinese restaurant puts in it -- maybe taragon? It was awful and disappointing, because this is typically my favorite soup. The wontons and spring rolls were lukewarm. None of the entrees had any liquid or sauce, pretty much dry. The orange chicken was tasty, but still needed some sauce to go with the rice. The sesame chicken didnt look like any Id seen before and certainly didnt taste like it, either. The chicken lo mein was actually very tasty and had a bit of sauce clinging to the noodles, so they somewhat flavored the rice ... sort of. I only received one container of rice for all three entrees. Not enough! And they sent me home with ketchup. Not sweet/sour sauce ... but ketchup. Im from Kansas and just moved here last year. So ... maybe this is a California thing? Dont know. Although, the staff here is very friendly, I would strongly recommend that you avoid this Chinese restaurant if youre looking for quality and quantity. On the other hand, I would highly recommend Kaleyard for quality Chinese food at a reasonable price. I just had this delivered a few days ago and it was delicious. China Moon ... well ... it was a huge disappointment.

My family and I were looking for a Chinese Cuisine restaurant to satisfy our craving for Kung Pao Chicken and Hot & Sour Soup, and after researching and reading reviews we found "China Moon." The restaurants "42 reviews" grabbed our attention. Well to get to the point, the restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. The meat quality was great (no rubber texture) and the food was not oversalted, as is the case with places like "P.F. Changs" and "Pei Wei." We dined at China Moon for dinner and the pricing was reasonable given the food quality, friendly and attentive service and also the modern feel and decor of the restaurant. A very cool place to enjoy great chinese food!

La atención es genial. La comida es deliciosa y ayudan mucho para dar con los platos que deseamos comer. Es un lugar tranquilo para disfrutar con familia. Son muy limpios en el lugar y la mesa donde te sientas.

We went to China Moon for our granddaughters graduation dinner. She picked the restaurant. None of us had ever eaten there. There were 7 in our party. Each of us ordered something different. All had the same reaction to what they ordered: Fantastic!!! The service was excellent. We all shared our orders. What a terrific dinner and dining experience. We would recommend China Moon to anyone. We will be back.

We have been eating here for at least 5 years...we love it. Although, we usually get the same dish we occasionally branch out and try something different and it is always very good, but what I love about this place is the service. Jackson and family always make us feel special. I love the vegetable lo mein and my husband loves the beef lo mein. you gotta try it! extra spicy of course. :)

Hidden gem. I am picky with Asian food and this place is on point with Chinese food. Food came out hot af and good. Duck was just right with good amount of meat and fat. Green beans was more than good for 4 people with multiple servings. Rice portions that came with each dish was kinda o the low side. Over all good stuff.

The service is amazing which is a change up for most good Chinese restaurants. They are consistently fast and friendly. Now, this is definitely white people Chinese food, very Americanized. That being said, since that is all you can get anywhere south of Irvine, this place is the best white people Chinese food around.

Such a cute place, friendly people, and yummy food. They also give you big portions. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because the chow mein and fried rice are a little over priced, especially if theyre plain (vegetarian). But overall, this is a very nice place, clean, and friendly!

This is our go to Chinese food place. The food is amazing, we highly recommend the steamed dumplings. The country garlic prawns and rainbow shrimp are delicious. The service can get slow when it gets crowded and reservations are highly recommended during peak times or look at waiting quite a while.

Best chinese food Ive found in this area. Ive only had take-out, but the restaurant itself seems nice, a little dark, but who cares when the food is good. If you have problems with the ambiance do what most people do with chinese food, eat it at home in front of your tv!

This is the most disgusting Chinese food Ive ever had in my entire life. I order Pork Chicken Shrmp Lo Mein. The pork tasted spoiled and the place smelled musty the minute you walk in it reeks of some disgusting mildew type smell. I should have left right away.
