Me and my husband eat out very very often, its always nice to be greeted with smiling faces and happy attitudes. The hostess here was very sullen and did not smile once and acted like she was being put out by any questions we asked her. We had reservations for the sushi bar, she indicated to us that we would have to sit in the bar area not at the sushi bar, when she left to seat another party (who was equally as unhappy as us!) we sat ourselves at the sushi bar. The hostess never came to give us menus or ask if our seats were okay and after 10 minutes of being completely ignored and realizing that nobody at the bar had food we realized that this was not the sushi place for us. I believe the staff is what sets the energy for the restaurant and the staff at this restaurant looked pretty miserable so we got up and left. In addition to all this the prices are extremely over-inflated for what they charge for one glass of wine you could buy a whole bottle of Kim Crawford... well stick to our regular sushi places that actually look like theyre happy to see us!

Have been a few times and must say, generally the food has been great....however when we found a hair in the tempura, not only did they not comp the meal, they charged us twice since we sent the hairy tempura back. Another time, one of the meals was not coming to the table, after complaining that the poor girl was not getting her meal it finally came after the rest of the table was completely done. When we complained about these 2 incidents the manger seemed annoyed with us. Instead of apologizing, he was rude and short, saying well things happen. Guess they need to understand good customer service but feel they dont have to since the food is pretty good. Disappointing

"WOW" just left and the all you.can eat menu! Make sure your ready to get your fill! The quality is wonderfull. Im from L.A. And this place way out in the desert would fit rite in with the besr sushi bars in L.A. Well worth the 4 hr drive. I also loved the shrimp and scallop o gratin delish. The decor was nice the ambiance was great it was 117° outside and felt like 90° inside and the tables being so small are my only complaint so I give this place a 9.5 out of a 10. Thanks to mr Wj,LJ,LA,LA & MY BOOKIECUB. I had a great time you guys are 1in a million..

Had dinner there last night. Reason for 3 stars is that we noticed a table next to us that had a different menu (All you can eat menu). We werent offered that menu and asked our server about it. (After we had already ordered our meal). She said that it is only offered to the "locals and people who know about it". WTF!? Its on their web-site! I called today and the manager today said that the owner doesnt want it published. Uh!? Its on your web site!!!!! People should know

Dark, cozy & intimate are just a few words that come to mind to describe Okura. Great drinks - the bartenders definitely dont skimp on the sauce. Also, the food is excellent. There are lots of options to choose from choose from. Some traditional and some other interesting mashups. Always clean. Very courteous staff. And the best for last... The food tastes amazing. Be sure to try it on a date night with your special someone.

Okura is a fantastic restaurant. We had the garlic edamane which were amazing. The rolls were great too. The rainbow roll was savory, the caterpillar roll was perfectly sweet, and the volcano roll was the perfect amount of spicy. Darnell was an excellent server always prompt and anticipating our needs. Was an incredible experience and would definitely come back.

Food was decent with lower expectations out in the desert. Sea bass was surprisingly good. Service was ok. They would not let us have a regular table because they said all tables were reserved. It was 4:30 in the afternoon. When we left around 5:45, 6ish there was only one table of two people in the regular dining area. We sat in the bar area which was fine.

Sushi was amazing. It blew my mind out of the water. The food combined with the service makes for an excellent example of what a good restaurant should be. I highly recommend the all-you-can eat sushi. If you can eat at least 3 rolls then is well worth the price since each roll is about $10-$15. 10/10 Would eat here again.

The management was definitely lacking but the owners being there made up for that. Our server was young but she did a really great job. Even if the service was bad though, I would go back fir the sashimi. I lived at the beach for years and didnt eat fish as fresh. Very impressive.

Sat in the patio and ate all you can eat sushi. All the rolls we got were delicious although they did have a lot of rice. Wish each roll had more sushi in it. Our server was okay. He was busy and wasnt attentive to our needs. He seemed to not really have a sense of urgency.

The best sushi the the desert! So many good rolls to choose from- and I love that they have brown rice options (beware, although its more healthy the brown rice doesnt stick together as the regular rice). Also inside the restaurant is always cold so bring a jacket.

Amazingly fresh sushi. The sashimi platter was to die for. Shizo leaf and the hottest wasabi in town makes a true believer for authenticity. Go here tonight. The baked fish my wife had was also incredible. Cant say enough. ..

Be sure to ask for the all you can eat menu. Its a great deal, the fish is fresh and delicious and you cant go wrong (unless you eat too much). They dont advertise the all you can eat menu, but if you ask for it you wont be sorry!

Great fresh fish. Rolls are huge and have great flavor. You get what you paid for. Also have fresh wasabi. Mango roll was delicious. Also can get real crab in substitution for imitation crab. Naked roll was also delicious.

Richard was fantastic! Truly one of a kind. He got our food right out and corrected the drink we didnt like. What a awesome server! We will be back one hundred percent just because of the service.

Called to see if they had the ramen soup that happy sushi in Palm Springs does, the lady very rudely stated No! This is a Japanese restaurant! We dont serve that !
