This is my favorite spot in La Jolla shores, they have it all, great atmosphere, great staff, great food, Ive been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, several times.Service is extremely friendly and professional.The owner is very nice and funny. Try the huevos rancheros for breakfast, they are amazing or the French toast if you have a sweet tooth. Nanas braised brisket one of my favorite sandwiches for lunch as well as the pizzas, all of them are great but if you want something different try the pizza max its a smoke salmon pizza and is amazing. I love the spaghetti con vongole "clams " it is unbelievable. Try their handcrafted cocktails too they use all fresh ingredients and they are really tasty I can keep going on and on, but just head over to Barbarella and try it out you wont be disappointed.

Our waiter was amazing but the Manager was the pits. We are from out of state so my daughter and I took a few pictures. The manager kept hovering, arms folded with a disapproving look on his face. Our waiter convinced us to get some hot chocolate after dinner so we could sit outside and enjoy the evening. He brought us our cocoa in to-go cups and apologized and wished us a good evening. I dont know if it was the pictures that made them want us to leave and if so a simple "please stop taking your 4 photos" would has stopped us. We were not being boisterous nor disruptive so I am highly disappointed with our experience. Sadly the mediocre food didnt help make up for being treated ill.

I dont often rate stuff unless its really bad or really good and this place is a total gem!.... Put it this way, I am still here ( first time ) and I am about to order desert. The service here is so good I have to boast to someone. The hostess, Andi made our experience really first class. Our waiter was equally as good but went our of get way to be exceptional. She filleted our fish to remove the bones, she rewarmed the pizza for our 5 year old and brought us all blankets when we got chilly. My boyfriend exclaimed " this is the best service Ive ever had!" The food was great the ambiance relaxed but intimate. A great find here in la jolla! Cant wait to eat my fruit crisp!!

We were attracted by the lovely decor, and delicious-sounding food, but overall it was disappointing, overpriced and we wouldnt recommend it. We asked for a specific outdoor table and then were moved to another table once someone phoned for an 8 seater, with the promise of free dessert which we didnt get. All the couch cushions were disgustingly dirty, had bird poop and old stains. The food was very average; could have made better at home and for a third of the price. Friendly service but no sense of urgency getting menus or the bill. Pity for a first impression of La Jolla!

I have been to this place last year and I had the best salmon ever in my life, they made it crispy and delicious and the service was wonderful. One year passed and I came back and the salmon with chopped salad was amazing and the whole service was miraculous. I give this place 5 stars from all my heart bcz they deserve it. Thank you manager Alex who went out of his to serve us personally with his kind smile and personal touch made our whole experience worth every minute. The staff here is amazingly friendly. My favorite dish is the homemade fetuccini with meat sauce. It sounds very simple but it tastes incredible. Dont finish your main meal. save it for hte next day and it tastes even better. The reason why i say save it is also because you need to make room for their desert. my two favorites are the fruit crisp and the italian chocoloate filled donuts served with the expresso gelato. The owner also is there from time to time and she was very friendly and sociable.

Overall I gave it a four because the food was only (3) star, the value (quality of food compared to cost) was only a (3) the atmosphere is easily a (5+) star and the service was (5) star. This place would be a slam dunk if the prices were more inline with the food served. Easily solved by bumping up quality of food or dropping prices a little.

Nice local place to grab some solid Italian fare. Their bread was actually my favorite part - whole wheat sourdough served warm with butter! Had their chopped salad which was nice, but not amazing. Also had their pasta of the day which was also very solid. Service was good and friendly - and I loved all their decorations for Halloween!

One of my favorite spots in La Jolla. Me and my boyfriend went there last weekend for dinner. I love the creamy baked pasta and we had a delicious pizza. Very nice Italian Mediterranean menu with some gluten free options. They have lots of beers on tap and interesting drinks. Dog friendly!!!! Cant wait to visit again soon

One of my favorite places to eat! The owner, Barbara, always treats me and my guests like family (the good kind). Their bar has great cocktails along with a good selection of beer and wine. The food is always amazing. Unique foods like a Gravlox Pizza (delicious! ) to their famous meatball appetizer...

When family was in town visiting recently, we decided to try Barbarella for dinner. Everyone was really happy with the choice. We all loved our meals and were impressed with the service as well. My family loved it so much they went back for breakfast! This will be on the list of "favorites."

Good food, good service, very good location. Weve been there a few times, and enjoyed our time there. The only problem is the price. Its a little overpriced for what you get. Thats the only thing that keeps us away. When they make adjust that well be back.

My family comes to this restruant 2 times out of the 5 days we stay in La Jolla. I have to say it is amazing! The sea food is amazing and you can tell it is fresh. Great family place. Good place to chill too. There is not one thing wrong with this rastruant.

This is a great place. The food was really good. The tops was when they identified my son was tired and rushed out his order first. They brought a blanket for him as it was cooling down. The ambiance was reminiscent of the cafes in Roma!

Great little spot for dinner. Interesting design and layout, delicious food, and friendly staff. It doesnt feel overly touristy which I like, and the location is within walking distance of most La Jolla hotels and the beach.
