I cannot speak for the service, food or decor, as the last time Ive entered this place was 2002...maybe. What I can speak of is drunks that exit, re-enter and stumble back out of this place. I thought there was an unspoken rule, or ethical obligation of a bartender NOT to serve an obvious drunk. If mumbling were a language, Hurricanes would be its origin. I feel for BJs patio guests who have to deal with overly intoxicated people cursing out in public over some idiotic disagreement obviously caused by a little too much to drink. If drinking is your thing, Hurricanes is your place. I personally feel there needs to be a balance between food and drink of any establishment that calls itself "Bar & Grill". I have a few more thoughts but Ill refrain from those for now.

this review is for the manger Ryan who works at night not for the over all place itself. I have been to this place on multiple occasions & I have seen Ryan take care of multiple problems w/ patrons & staff. He handles every situation like a professional & is one of the few reasons I agree to go with my girlfriends to Hurricanes still. I dont really care for the over all place or staff but I am reassured if he happens to be working there. The rest of the staff is lacking & is luckily lead by Ryan to make correct decisions.

Watch out for their happy hour! I ordered 2 appetizers and only 1 showed up. After waiting longer than acceptable for our waitress, I asked her if she could check on the appetizer. She came back and served it. She served a split bill and we asked to combine it. All was correct with pricing on the split bill so we assumed it was correct when she brought the final check. My bad. I should have checked. The late appetizer was charged full price and I didnt see it until after we left. Shady.

Hurricanes is that bar you end up at late in the night because someone in the group decides they want to dance. The door guys are a little too aggressive, the bartenders serve warm beer in giant plastic cups and the dance floor flashes different colors. Its a place you go to "take it to the next level" but its not a place you want to end up at too often. Also, the doors guys use to charge people with out-of-state IDs a cover even if the bar wasnt charging a cover.

Be very careful when you go to Hurricanes. Only use cash! They will added charges to your CC. After you fill out your credit card receipt, they will add money to the charges and you wont realize you have been ripped off until you read your bank statement. Very shady operation. Plenty of other better locations to go on Main Street in HB.

Food, Service, Food, Atmosphere, Food... I dont know why the best bar food Ive tasted is hiding out in a Bar/Nightclub. But their happy hour (before 7:00) entire menu 25% off makes this the best place to get a cheap good bite with friends in Huntington Beach. Their balcony is also really amazing before or after sunset.

Great atmosphere and good service make hurricanes a good stop on main Street. In the morning a seat or on their balcony provides a good perch to people watch and enjoy the ocean breeze. And happy hour is half off on everything but pitchers!!! Enjoy

One of the more fun places in HB that has a bit more of a nightclub atmosphere and not just a traditional bar vibe. Drinks are decently priced and the bartenders have always been stellar on their service. Attracts a younger crowd.

This place has a really awesome happy hour and it gets busy and noisy. The food and drinks have always been excellent. Its usually my Friday place. Weekends get crazy busy.
