never thought id be tricked into eating hipster pho but i did... dropped by on a saturday noon thinking that phans55 was just like all other pho restaurants but nope. you order at the counter and pick up your order accordingly. i got the top round (aka steak, see, they even have to hipster-fy steak) pho. i honestly wished my pho was a lot more picture-esque... but it wasnt. i found the steak to be tough to chew and too thick of slices. some of the steak slices were also laced with plenty of fat. and i much prefer my pho with white onion but they put red onion instead (uhhh, hipster much?) the girl at the cashier was really nice. and note to phans55, if youre going to make your pho all hipster at least have better looking carrying trays... those plastic "food court" black trays are not cutting it for photos and... my piping hot bowl of pho almost slid off the tray in projectile motion! it was not phonomenal (heh), but id only revisit pho emergencies (heh)... #sophonny #sopunny

EIGHTY Bug

I have had nothing but great experiences here, I love tapas sized portions and sharing, there is plenty of that here. The flavors are nice, a modern spin in Viet cooking. A good sign of its restaurants is its soups, and they are always fresh and loaded with flavor. The decor is clean and cozy, and even though its set into a mini-mall environment, the interior space transcends the outside world, which is great. Good Music, friendly staff, great drinks, and food. Ill keep coming back. There are not too many places in Fullerton that have a more modern approach to cuisine, but I am stoked on Phans55

My daughter and I love this place. Our favorite is the Tofu and Vegetable Phó. I also enjoy the basil and cucumber martini. Its so refreshing! They have some good prices on appetizers and selected drinks during happy hour.

This is a very pleasant way to spend lunch-- good food, prompt service, and a variety of choices to select. Slightly pricey for a lunch, but way above the average - treat yourself once in a while.
