The Nook is the latest brunch spot to pop up in Encino. I was really excited to try this place based off its newness and the fact that there can never be too many great places to brunch. I went on a Saturday morning early (8:45ish) and there was no wait at all. From the moment I walked in I knew I was going to like this place. It has a charming quaint appeal. Its very homey and welcoming. Of course the servers matched the décor, providing very courteous customer service. Their menu is pretty vast with a multitude of pancake, French toast and waffle variations. I decided to get the best of both world and got a breakfast combo plate with pancakes (just the regular buttermilk), chicken apple sausage (this was a substitute) and poached eggs. My boyfriend and I decided to share some hash browns as well. The buttermilk pancakes were really doughy. Wasnt my favorite pancake but my bf seemed to love them. They are generously sized and were topped with powdered sugar. The chicken apple sausage was AMAZING. They were grilled to perfection with tasty char marks and sweet succulent apple bits. Really enjoyed. The poached egg went splendidly with the hash browns. I did have to provide a bit of pepper as they were not seasoned to my taste but they were cooked pretty well. Overall really cute brunch spot with some tasty options. Its plenty of parking spots and friendly service. The crowd was a bit older but it could have been because it was so early. I wouldnt recommend the pancakes unless you like them sugary and doughy.

Great place for brunch! If you like CiCis in Tarzana or Bea Beas in Burbank, youll like this place too! Very familiar look and feel. Also very similar menu and pricings. The nice thing about this place was that because its newly opened, there was no wait or crowds like the other places. The coffee was just ok and slightly bitter. But we came towards closing time. We ordered: -Red Fury Pancakes: DELICIOUS! If you like red velvet pancakes with whipped cream, bananas and nutella then this is A MUST TRY! Very generous portions! The pancakes were soft and fluffy. Very chocolatey! Beautiful presentation too! -Chocolate Crunchy French Toast: YUMMY! If you like the crunchy french toast at Blu Jam but want a chocolatey version, this is the dish for you! -Scrambled eggs: Perfectly done! -Sausage: You have options to choose from! I got the chicken apple sausage which was tasty. -Bacon: If you like them snap-in-half crispy and ask for it, they make them perfectly crunchy and crispy! Parking was a little weird. Its kinda hidden in a giant plaza with CVS and other restaurants. I can see how parking might be challenging during busy hours but definitely worth the drive! Will definitely be back!

If I could write zero stars, I would. My daughter got extremely ill from this place. And she is only two years old. My daughter has a horrible milk allergy and they put milk in their scrambled eggs. THEY DO NOT SAY THIS ON THEIR MENU. However, I still made a point to ask. I specifically asked the waitress if they add milk to their eggs and to make sure that they do not do this with my daughters eggs because of her severe allergy. Despite this, they still gave her eggs with milk which she ate and then she got very sick. She threw up several times and had a horrible fever. What a lazy, terrible restaurant. How dare they not list allergens on their menu and ignore customer requests like this despite being specifically told of an allergy. If you cannot accommodate people with allergies you have no business being in the restaurant industry or heck, just say that you cannot make changes and we wont order that dish! Dont serve something to a baby after being asked to make a change. People can die. Disgusting. Irresponsible. Negligent. Gross.

What a terrible experience. Im glad they seem to be doing well because the place was packed. Literally packed. The tables are about 6 inches away from each other. A teenage girl squeezed between our table and the one next to us. Her butt cheeks would have swept half of our dishes onto the floor if we hadnt jumped to catch them. This joint also seems very popular for first time parents, about 1/4 of the people crowded into this room were crying infants. It was so loud and the staff barely speaks above a mumble. I had to ask our server to repeat herself 3 times and she barely raised her mumble above the din of screeching babies. The eggs were rubbery, my corned beef hash was obviously from a can and I overpaid. The pancakes were good but they give you no butter just a few tablespoons of syrup. My wifes Eggs Benedict were ok but remarkably under-seasoned. To hell with this place. I am never going there again.

First, went to Cicis down the road, but the wait was 45 minutes. This was on a Sunday about 1pm. Decided to drive here. They said the wait was about 15 minutes. This place looked cleaner and not as crammed in when U sat. Service was good, the food GREAT, parki get not an issue. U can sit outside or inside. We sat inside. the omelette was FANTASTIC!!!! I got the Hangover one, and added pesto sauce, with the home potatoes. Coffee was a medium roast with excellent flavor. Nice tables and clean restroom. Would come back here in a second. My first time to both of these, and I would at some point try to eat at Cicis, but what I can say outside of experiencing their food, this place scores higher than Cicis on all other categories

The food was bland. I had lox benedict and and the hollandaise sauce had no flavor. none. I also ordered a chai iced tea and they gave a chai iced late. fine. I could taste the granuls of the chai powder in my drink and they poured so much milk of some kind that i couldnt even taste the chai just a lil cinnomon. the serves were rude and didnt want to split the check the way we wanted it. my best friend also ordered the grandnutella and she couldnt taste the nutella. she asked for chocolate chips to be put into the batter and they put a couple on the top of her badly burnt pancakes. this place is way too over priced for the lack of quality of both food and service.

Underwhelmed. I ordered a coffee when we first sat down and I had to remind the waitress to bring it about 10 minutes later. I ordered eggs over medium and they came out with the whites WAY runny and undercooked. I would have complained but when the waitress came by, it was so much later that we were half done, then she asked how our meal was, but before I could reply, she took off! Why bother asking if you arent going to wait for the response? The belgian waffle was quite good. Otherwise disappointing, especially given what they charge.

omg... this place has everything essential to brunch. Youll walk out stuffed and satisfied. I went here for my birthday and got a stack of pancakes with nutella and strawberries and chocolate chips and a load of other stuff. Was not disappointed. My girlfriend got the lox benedict and i ate about half of it. The service was excellent as well even though we got there about 40 minutes before they closed. I cant wait to go back. Im salivating already.

The best breakfast/lunch place I have been to in years. I went with my boyfriend and friend 2 days in a row. If I was able to stay longer I would eat there everyday. I had their king Kong French toast and matcha green tea pancakes. My boyfring had the steak and eggs Benedict with a pesto sauce on a French baguette and the corned beef Benedict... everything was exception!!!! Cant wait to come back!!!!
