Just plan to stop by here and grab some hot dogs and leave within 5 minutes w/ my kids so I have parked my car to that 5 min. parking zone. I was encountered with a white supremacist family who drove a car with a U-haul trailer parking 4 parking lots away from my car and asked me to leave. The driver spoke to me with very hostile tone of voice and demanded me to go away. He said that I can not park in this 5 min. zone and there are plenty of parking spaces in that parking garage. Seeing this kind of attitude I do not want something happened to my car so I have to leave and came back to park somewhere else. I then came to the store and found that the car and trailer were still in that parking zone and they have already stayed more than 5 mins. I got a chance to write down the vehicle plate number (5AKT793, the trailer number 5986-TR) and the driver saw me doing this so they left right away. I then report to the manager about how I have been treated by this man. I figured this man might done the same thing with other customers. The manager agreed to ask the vehicle to leave if she sees them come back. I eventually stayed in IKEAs restaurant w/ my kids and ate our lunch there. Then I lately saw the same vehicle came back in front of IKEAs exit door, parking illegally on a "do not parking" area. I went to the managers office and report to the staff who stayed in the office. The staff made a phone call to report to the manager. However, there is no action after all. After staying in that dinning area eating and waiting for another 10 min. I want back to managers office to talk to the manager. She told me that she already let her security talked to that person and asked them to leave. (But my kids told me that while I left to the office they did not see any security approach them.). The security later talked to the driver about what he has done to me and the driver was totally denied. Then IKEAs staffs still allowed this supremacist family to park in that do not parking area illegally and upload their item on an exit zone that should be clear. The manager later asked a security to walk me and kids to my parking lot (he only walk half way and left.). Regardless of how I have been treated by this customer, I do not think that the manager/security did the right thing to allow such a supremacist family to illegally stay in that 5 min. loading zone area for more than 20 minutes waiting for someone finish shopping. I did not get my justice maybe because I am not white. I would like to boycott this store based on the way they are handling the whole situation. There are many Chinese come to IKEA to shop because IKEA is now very popular in China. And many of IKEAs furniture are made in China now. It would be really ironic for those white Chauvinist who come here to buy "Made in China" items while despising other Chinese/Asian customers. Just would like to suggest all Asian IKEA fans to stay away from this IKEA, if possible. You might have a chance to bump into a white Chauvinist customer like that and you probably can not do anything about it -- at least my experience telling me that their manager/security really did not help much. (Maybe the only thing you can do is to come here and write a warning review after all….)

Ikea is a mixed bag. The stores can be overwhelming, and customer service is almost non-existent. But they provide many decent products at affordable prices. We keep coming back for more-- we just try to avoid the bad stuff. We recently remodeled our laundry room using Ikea cabinets, countertop & sink. This was all pretty easy. Ikea provides many tools to plan out cabinets for a room, and its much more convenient then anything provided by Home Depot. Some tips: - Shopping at Ikea requires practice. This might sound odd, but once you understand the Ikea mindset youll be fine. We try go in, find the products we need, and avoid the rest of the store. - There are few customer service people available, so youre mostly on your own. Its almost a Do-it-yourself store. - If you try to take in the whole store at one go, youll be exhausted by the end. Avoid the rooms you dont need. - There are several play areas for the kids. They also have diaper changing tables, a quiet & private breastfeeding room, etc. - Use the shortcuts and avoid parts of the store you dont need. Good luck finding the shortcuts. They are poorly marked. - Take a break. There is a restaurant on the second floor. Food is fine, they have coffee, prices are cheap, kids food is extra-cheap-- they even provide jars of baby food. We often eat a family dinner here for about $15. - Ikea provide maps of the store, notepads, pencils & catalogs, and most products are available for hands-on inspection. Phone customer service is almost nonexistant. The Ikea website is bad--- there are missing products, wrong information for some products, etc. For example, they only just removed the 2005 Kitchen Planner after I complained, because it was 3 years out of date.

Our experience was less than awesome. The store was super slammed so maybe I will chalk it up to the fact that everyone seemed frantic and overworked. It took over 2 hours just to wait in line to order a wardrobe closet and get the shopping list. Once we went to the warehouse 1/3 of the items on our list were out of stock. We drove over 45 min. to this store to purchase a wardrobe so we only have 2/3 of a wardrobe closet arriving to our apt. You cant reserve shipments coming in for missing pieces you just have to arrive at the store and hope its in stock the next time you visit the store. 2 separate deliveries will cost us over 180.00 extra on cost of furniture. Not happy about having to do 3 hours of driving (a total of 6 hours) in hopes of getting a full wardrobe closet. I probably will go with a different company in the future that can deliver a complete piece of furniture in one delivery and one visit. We also left our cell phone on the computer planning desk for about 30 min. when we turned around from asking a question it was gone. Still no sign of the cell phone being turned into the lost and found. Staff was helpful and did walk us around to try and find the cell phone. Overall experience was stressful and customer satisfaction on product really not happy. Delivery: Everything delivered however movers scratched wood floor and we have a 3 foot running scratch down our wood floors in living room now:( Not happy about this especially since this will come out of our security deposit. Not cool!

This Ikea has BY FAR the worst customer service and without a doubt should be rated below average. I have never experienced anything like this before: I went to Ikea Emeryville, CA to purchase a queen malm (brown veneer ash) bedframe, lonset slats, mattress and mattress pad. I was helped by an Ikea worker, because I couldnt put everything on the cart by myself since it slid around when trying to put heavy objects on it. I proceeded through checkout, and got my items delivered that day. I put together my bed frame first, which I then realized was actually a full bed frame. Whoever helped me at the store pick the bed frame off the shelf, the cashier, and the person who did my delivery all looked at either the item or the receipt of my purchase and no one pointed out that I was buying a full bed frame. So I called to get the full bed frame picked up for return and delivery of a queen bed frame, and also admitted it was my fault for not checking my receipt closely. Even though, the store worker picked out the wrong size bed frame for me, the customer service person said it would still cost $50 (half of the delivery fee) to get my bed frame, which is ridiculous, but I agreed. I now have been playing phone tag with both two customer service reps (extensions 1458 and 1378). They asked me to send them an authorization form with my credit card information because they cannot accept payments over the phone. Ive emailed that form a dozen times and left at least six messages on each of their voicemails.
