I purchased fish from Ralphs, prepared it for myself and elderly parents and we all experienced various degrees of sickness. What did Ralphs do? Make me work hard for a refund. On 11/01/09, I purchased about a pound and a half of swai fish. Prior purchasing, the seafood attendant and I had a conversation regarding product origins (China and Vietnam; farm-raised fish; why not local-caught?) and I mentioned that none of the selections looked fresh. The attendant said he put them out that day. Whether this meant the shipment came in that day or if they were thawed that day I did not know. I went home and prepared the swai with some standard sides. After dinner, my stomach was upset. I asked my parents if their dinner settled well. My dad had already beaten me to the Pepto and my mom had thrown-up to feel better. My mom is immunodeficient. Little things like food poisoning can kill her. That evening, I returned to the store and spoke with a Ralphs employee in a manager/ supervisor position. She provided me a corporate phone number and went back to the Seafood Department to have the swai pulled. Over the course of two weeks, I followed-up by submitting a complaint to Kroger (the parent company of Ralphs) on their website and contacted the store for updates. I continued following-up and eventually drove out from Koreatown to the store, spoke with the manager who had no idea what was going on and asked for my contact information. I eventually was called back to the store where I was offered double the price of the fish (approx. $13) and a boilerplate corporate apology. I think I clearly illustrated Ralphs poor follow-up and customer service. The upside: the bad experience made it easier to convince my family to get into the habit of buying groceries at Trader Joes.

I had not been here since I was little and neither had my fiance and we both agreed it was nice but nothing that makes us need to go again anytime soon. BUT we have been there for Horror Nights for the Halloween season and that on the other hand is totally worth it! Again totally just my opinion the customer service was great, the rides were great, the special effects were awesome, but I think it needs to be alot bigger and have more rides/attractions. My biggest disappointment was that the Harry Potter section or Hogsmead was very little and they should have made that wayyyyy bigger! Was still a very good day and great experience, we will be there for Horror Nights like every year!

This ralphs is OK Its a convenient location for me but I dont do my grocery shopping here. Prices are high and the coupons they offer are where you must buy 5 of one item to get the lower price. But the bad thing I learned is that when purchasing dairy, make sure you check the expiration dates. Much of the yogurt on the shelf is either past due or ready to expire. One thing I usually get in a pinch from here is the gogurt and yogurt packs. 8/10 times the packages in the front are the old ones and if they have fresh, its hidden behind the expired stuff. Check those dates if youre shopping here

All sections of the store seem to consistently provide quality products (breads, deli, meats, produce, etc.). They have an excellent beer selection. The wait times at the tellers are usually short and they provide a self-checkout if you so desire. They also have a Starbucks in-store which is great. My personal favorite has been the clearance section where it isnt uncommon to find some great deals. The store is also very clean and the stocked products are faced very well. Solid store.

I give this Ralphs 4 stars mainly due to the fact that they have a great selection of product. Im a vegan health nut which makes it a bit of a strain to find grocers that carry what I need when Im on the road. But Ralphs always has some great vegan and organic selections for me to choose from which is more than I can ask of most places that dont specialize in those products. I give four stars mainly because its still a corporate butthole.

Great prices and everything is easy to find. The store is a great size with ample supply of different items. There is an international section with intresting flavors. There are always great discounts and the staff is lovely. Ive been coming here for years and I love it!

They didnt seem to have the same variety of items as Stater Bros. Even something as simple as the Hunts garlic or Herb tomato paste they only had the plain ones. There were a few other things as well I couldnt find and I was rather surprised

Great variety of healthy choices for the health conscious. Friendly, helpful staff and shoppers dont wait in a long line as the staff are always attentive to open a lane when the queue is getting backed up.
