WHAT IT IS A gastro pub. WHAT YOU SHOULD ORDER Sweet potato tots. Seriously you guys. They have SWEET POTATO TOTS. AMBIANCE 4 stars I rather like the Bread and Barley. Its dark inside, and I like dark restaurants. Theres something so intimate and lovely about being in a dimly lit room while you eat--I dont know. I just love it. The B&B has this rustic theme going on with the exposed brick walls and wooden tables that fits well with the old building its in. Its open concept (uuurgh) but wasnt too busy or loud when we were there. The restaurant is really long and narrow, too, feels a little unusual. The bar is all the way in the back of the restaurant--we never even got near it. FOOD AND DRINKS 5 Stars Did I mention the sweet potato tots? My god. Anyone who knows me knows I die for sweet potato fries. Whats always better than a french fry? A tater tot. I didnt even know you could tater tot a sweet potato. My eyes have been opened. I got the Babe burger which was pretty darn good too. Im a sucker for mushrooms. It was cooked well, juicy, and not too drippy. Really good! We didnt try any of the beers as I was planning on trying to be productive that night, but I cant wait to go back for another round. NICE SURPRISES SWEET. POTATO. TOTS. OVERALL This place is a wee bit pricier than the Brew and Meatball down the street, but they offer a wider variety of dishes and have some specialties that really make this place stand out. I feel the two compliment each other nicely and I hope that they coexist in Covina for a long, long time.

I went here for a buddys birthday celebration. We were a group of about 20 and with how small this place is it looked like we took over the place. If its busy, you might have to wait a bit as it isnt very big. They have a great selection of about 20 different craft beers but only had 5 selections on their dinner menu. I ordered a Bread & Barley burger with fries and I had no complaints, it was pretty tasty. Service was great and our waitress was able to split up all of our checks no problem, which is great when you have a big group!

Came here at 11 on a Saturday looking forward to portabello fries and a burger. Well they only serve breakfast till noon. So I got chilaquiles, which were awesome. My partner on the other hand, got the California Benedict, which was the most disappointing benedict hes ever had. Maybe Ill change this review when I can come back and order the full menu. The worst thing is the guy waited until we ordered and said we cant have that, its brunch....Say it before we order, man!

What a great experience! Great atmosphere, great food and the service was very friendly and knowledgeable! We had two beer flights and an appetizer. Good beer and yummy burgers. Their beer menu changes from time to time but they have about 20 beers on tap so youre bound to find something youll dig. Their menu is pretty small and simple. I had their main burger and it was really great. Side note! They charge for a serving fries!! Not cool. They do give you chips next to your burger but this is america. Give me my french fries. The brick walls and hipster lighting make for a good atmosphere.

The grilled fish tacos were SO good and pretty spicy although I still needed some salsa to go with them (you know how dem Mexicans do). Price was about $15 for 3. The staff was so inattentive though. They never asked if we needed anything else. So I guess, come here for the beer and ambiance but not for the service. Its also pretty pricey even with the $2 discount on your first beer when you check in.

Food is AMAZING. The people there are nice. The only downside for me was the lack of attention. We never got refills and our kids never got drinks, I also had to go and ask for the check and then go back to pay it since no one was coming to our table. Aside from that, definitely check them out, the burgers are incredible and the portobello fries are amazing as well.

First impression walking in the door was this place had a great atmosphere. Sat at the bar. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful in choosing multiple beers to fill our flights. Just had an appetizer for food but it was soo f-ing good. The portobello fries !! Yum! Will definitely be back.

Beer selection is good. Nice balance of super local and craft favorites. Food is well made and the menu has something for everyone. We had a slightly big group and they we more than accommodating, even with 3 little ones. When in the area again Ill be sure to stop in.

cool hipster place to hang out with a big selection of beers. There is a regular, called Frank, with a beard, big eyes, and giggles a lot. say whats up to him he is awesome, buy him a beer if you are looking for another friend to talk to.

One of my favorite bars. A wide selection of a rotating tap as well as delicious burgers (cant go wrong with any of them) and an amazing macncheeze! And if youre want to bring your family, its great for lunch but gets packed for dinner.

It was a pretty good burger place. The burgers were extremely messy. The service was great and it is in a nice little loft looking place with good music. I personally would not recommend to a friend due to the messiness of the burgers.
