Ive been here twice, for both dinner and brunch. For dinner, I ordered the vegetable barley soup and the kale and quinoa salad. Both exceeded my expectation by a long shot. There is just a small amount of red quinoa and a lot of kale! Also I saw a tower of greens on the roof and asked the waitress and she said they grow all their own greens and herbs! A+++ for that! I added a kebab to my salad and the steak was cooked and marinated to perfection.Live music was a great addition to our dinner and at a good volume to still carry on a conversation. I went back for brunch and saw they were advertising some new menu items one of which were... CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! Being from Texas, it was my go to and I was VERY pleased! My husband got the huevos rancheros and said the eggs were cooked really well and he liked the mexican flare the dish had. My grandma got the Belgium waffles with fruit after she smelled them when she walked in and she said they tasted as good as they smelled! Grandpa got the Chilaquiles and LOVED it. It all came out in a really cool red bowl as if it was a burrito bowl. He was really impressed and that means a lot from him. All in all, great! Service was prompt Gabby was very personable. New fav spot for brunch before the beach!

Latest visit was horrible. The food was absolutely disgusting not to mention they kept screwing up our order over and over again. Ordered the filet mignon expand addict and the build your own omelette with three choices. Our server was very nice and asked us about how we want our steak cooked, and we told her that we want rare on the steak. And we also told us what three choices we want in our omelette. After waiting for about more than 30 minutes, especially when the restaurant was completely empty and there were no customers, this wouldve been a bad sign already. We did get our food eventually. The filet mignon was well done and a bit dry, so its definitely not even close to being rare. The omelette came out to be a very sad tiny little piece of mushy watery Pilo of something. And it had green peppers in it which we did not want and no sausages which was the choice we ordered. So we told our server that was the wrong order and she had the kitchen remake it again. About another 10 minutes later we got the omelette and again it had green peppers in it which we did not want. So the kitchen screwed up the order twice. Terrible experience of food is pretty bad did not taste good at all. Avoid!

UNDER *GREAT* NEW OWNERSHIP!!! The food is fantastic! The menu has a great variety of extremely well done dishes from meat, fish, pasta, sliders, skewers, pizzas and the BEST HUMMUS you can possibly get anywhere, to really fresh creme brulee and explode in your mouth chocolate souffle!! The wine and cocktail list is really good, and theres great HAPPY HOUR specials too - They also have LIVE MUSIC 7 NIGHTS A WEEK!! There are two dining areas - one inside with a wall that opens out to the live music area, and one outside with an open-air ceiling for "Music Under The Stars" featured in Locale Magazine for the summer concert series kick off in 2012 . . The staff is very organized, knowledgeable, and very friendly, and the usual dress is dinner casual - and sun-dress and shorts on the weekends during the day . . This is a great place to take your whole family for dinner, or for company parties and celebrations - while also a great place to go on a date! I love the food the most!! I eat there at least twice a week, and sometimes more . . definitely tell a friend!

I have been to the restaurant on four different occasions, and every time I go, I leave satisfied and impressed by the presentation of the food, the flavorful and exotic taste of the foods, and the warm and cozy feeling the atmosphere brings. I have never had a bad experience with the food or service. It is always delicious, and when I am there, I feel as though I am traveling through different countries because the flavors of the foods are a mixture of cuisine from Spain, Italy and France. I have traveled to many parts of the world and have had the finest of foods, and I am pleased to say that the food at The Port competes with top chefs in Italy, France and Spain. I would suggest that people go experience The Port for themselves. Chef Austin is exquisite.

Servers were friendly and the service was ok. The food was sub par. Calamari seemed like they were the crumbs of the actual calamari. Steak tacos and sliders were uh not bad but not what I expect f ok Newport. The chicken kabob was good but nothing unlike what Ive ever had. Granted I ate dinner early but the ambience was awkwardly abysmal. Sat on the patio and could only hear the ac vent and my friend chewing. Some of the menus had tapas selections and some didnt. Asked and they said they knew this but didnt update all of their menus. Not their fault but how does an owner allow this?

This is a true hidden gem! Located right behind The Port Theatre is an awesome little restaurant that hosts live music, delicious food and a great ambience over all! They have a mix of delicious Mediterranean and Italian food! Our hostess/waitress is incredibly nice and helpful without being intrusive. The warm free bread they serve with every meal is just too much! The margarita flatbread is a great appetizer!! Absolutely full of flavor! Getting to see the great local talent is so nice and jazz Mondays sound so fun! This restaurant is worth coming over from Huntington!

Some friends suggested this restaurant and we went to try it out while we were in Corona Del Mar. The place was empty with only 1 table occupied on week day evening. Food was extremely overpriced for what you get. Their filet mignon shish kebab that I ordered was hardly edible for $38.00. Live music was so loud we could hardly hear each other in an empty restaurant. The place is old and feels old. Service was good.

We love Port Restaurant and Bar! They have the best chicken skewers, fish tacos and Chilean sea bass! The gnocchi is incredible as well. My boyfriend and I come here with friends all the time. Its a great date spot too. On Wednesdays they have half off on glasses of wine and great live music. Its the only local spot with live music EVERY NIGHT of the week!!! Awesome happy hour, dinner, ambiance, you name it!

I absolutely love the food at this place. Thats why you go out, right? To eat? Well, this place deserves five stars because not only the food is awesome, but the ambiance is upbeat and the vive is really cool. I really enjoy coming to this place because the people and the music make it really nice.... but the food? Is awesome!

My favorite thing about Port Restaurant and Bar? The music! And I rarely say that, if ever. Food is solid (lots of vegetarian options), drinks are decent, and its actually affordable. Dont bother circling to look for a meter, just park in the lot across the street for $5. Highly recommended:
