This is a unique treasure for some great southern food. Sadly after many years of operation, its sadly closing its doors due to the landlord of the property. This will surely, though, remain the best jambalaya and gumbo I have had in a long time. I remember bicycling around the neighborhood and this was the restaurant that lit up the street of devonshire and topanga. As a kid, they had a small band playing and I could never get the idea of why?? As i got older, I understood and had my first taste of jambalaya. It was Heaven on Earth. The Portion and taste is JUST RIGHT. It seriously doesnt get any better. The best restaurants are the ones that arent franchisees. They are the mama and papa shops. I would hurry if I were you to try this restaurant out, before its closed for good. If I had the cash, I would invest in the restaurant myself. But, all good things must come to an end. I hope they find another location to open.. and this trustworthy customer will definitely follow. Try the shrimp jamabalya.

Finally tried out this valley institution. My boyfriend and I met on a Friday night and were lucky enough to get the last table available after about a 5 minute wait. Everyone who came after us waited at least 45 minutes. I got the fried chicken, spicy, and it was really darn good. Its my 2nd best fried chicken in LA (after Bonyard Bistro). We also had an appetizer of fried crawdads. Very good with some of the local Louisiana hot sauce available on the table. The Mac and Cheese was also very good. My only complaint was that the one waitress didnt really seem very concerned about things like, taking your order, getting your check, etc. Im fairly sure that this is what led to the wait being so darn long for all of the other people waiting after us. Even with that, she was nice, and we would totally try it again. Especially for that fried chicken and mac. But, I also have my eye on the ribs and fried catfish :)

This place makes me want to slap my mama! The food tastes like your favorite grandma made it. Yes the place isnt the most beautiful joint ever, but its clean and the food is fresh and delicious. The catfish and hush puppies is one of the best things on the menu. Their catfish is lightly breaded so its delicious and still crunchy but doesnt feel heavy like a lot of other soul food joints. I also highly recommend the cajun fried chicken. It is spicy, but is crispy delicious and flavorful. Its extremely difficult to find a good soul food place among all the macrobiotic kale juice mermaid magic whatever, but Les Sisters is it. Another plus, their pricing is good. Its not going to break the bank. Its kinda in a weird area if Chatsworth so if youre driving past, drive slowly so you dont miss it!

Went here last night and it was amazing. We started off with their fresh squeezed lemonade and "muddy waters"(half lemonade/half tea) and it did not dissapoint. They came in HUGE mason jars! And was some of the best lemonade/Arnold Palmer Ive ever had! We order Hush Puppies and Gumbo as our appetizers. Sooooo good! So so good! Those hush puppies, Ohmagosh! My fiance got shrimp jambalaya with a side of black eyed peas and I got fried chicken(I forgot to make it spicy!!! :[ ) with a side of mac n cheese and yams and we also had cornbread. Everything was so delicious! It reminded me of food my grandma used to make, but way better!! And of course, we had their buttermilk pie. So tasty! And our waitress reminded me of one if my aunties! Shes was hilarious. Definitely will be back here!

Went for the first time and it was amazing. It has a homey feel to it and the server was very friendly and descriptive when I asked questions on the menu. I got the crawfish jambalaya and it had a lot of fish and sausage in it. I asked for it extra spicy and they did not disappoint. My mouth went numb at one point but all the flavors were still very evident. It was delicious. Also, we got the buttermilk pie for dessert. Best pie ever. It was soooo good!!! I highly recommend it. My friend got the smothered chicken and that was dynamite as well. The sides were also very comfort food-esque and very tasty. Felt very homemade and you could tell everything was made from scratch. 5/5 without a doubt.

We have long enjoyed the great food and quirky atmosphere at this homey spot, and decided to have them cater our holiday party in December for 40 people. Every year we pick a new restaurant, and every year we have plenty of left-overs for people to take home. This year, not only was everyone absolutely raving about the Shrimp Creole, Crawfish Etouffe, and Veggie Jamalya plus slaw, collards, corn muffins, and hush puppies, but -- they cleaned up!! We only had one little baggie of food and a few corn muffins left to enjoy the next day (and we did!). It is a great spot and a nice way to remind us of our visits to New Orleans.

If I hadnt done a search for hidden gems in the valley, I might have never come across this easy-to-miss delicious eatery. Everything they have looked amazing and I wanted to get it all! Very filling for a decent price. The prices are more expensive than Id like, but you get a lot for it and while Im not an expert on southern cooking, it really felt authentic. I guess one unique thing is how they cook in both cajon and creole. As I said, Im not an expert, but it was wonderful. Im also a sucker for the old-school vintage-ish cartoon alligator imagery. The staff was very friendly. Looking forward to going back!

What can I say about this place! The food is amazing and the people are so friendly! Me and my boyfriend have gone here almost every three weeks! We love this place, only place we find REAL SOUL FOOD in, California. And I have never been a fan of sweet potato pie but les sisters is the only place I will, eat it at! The ribs are to die for, they fall off the bone and are so juicy! I know soul food, my family owns a restaurant that also cooks soul food! This place has been open for 30+ years they know what they are doing! Forever a customer here

Amazing food! Had just picked up some friends visiting from out of town near the convention center and they were looking for soul food. This was the closest place I Googled. Checked the reviews...okay. checked Yelp reviews...alright! We decided to be adventurous and headed to Grannys! Parking is non-existent. It doesnt look like much when you walk in but the food is off the chain! I had the baked chicken, candied yams and mac and cheese. Large portions. Best sweet tea around! My only complaint is that the cornbread was small and dry. Going back again!

This place was ok I guess, staff was great as well. Reason I am giving 3 stars is because their macaroni was is really watery and their yams are straight out of the can, I actually think they microwave all of their sides! And our waitress gave us faucet water. My spicy chicken was really tasty everything else was nasty. You cant see whose cooking your food due to this huge wall blocking everything so theres no telling what their doing back their, theres no counter when you walk in either so you have to seat yourself
