Ive tried that place on a Saturday night for dinner after calling in if they had a table available. After arriving there, the venue was kind of a bummer: They did not mention that there were two large wedding parties going on, besides those we were the only other guests. As we were really hungry, we went through with it. The food was pretty good, though being cramped in a small side room with the loud wedding music (and karaoke) going in the large main hall, that was really not so nice. I let my three stars here as warning to others who attempt the same, and will revise them once I managed to go there for lunch.

Ive been here many times since it opened. Food is consistently very good. It is pricier than many places. Best dish here is their smoked sea bass. On my latest visit I enjoyed the black bean chow fun. It has an upstairs and downstairs section as well as private rooms. Dynasty can get very busy, especially when holding weddings. They can hold multiple at a time. However, you may be able to be seated still. I was in an open section during a closed off wedding on the upstairs section. You could hear the wedding but still enjoy your food.

This was once upon a time the place to be for dim sum in San Jose. Unless your a regular the service was mediocre but you came for the food. Whether dim sum or dinner it was all about the food. However that was as Ive stated once upon a time. The food here has gotten a bit down trodden. Its simply not very good anymore. Id much rather go to Tai Pan and order take out dim sum. The service is general a bit better than it was but the food has almost fallen off a cliff.....

The food is nearly always exceptional. The main customer base is Chinese/Asian, and I believe most of the poor interaction others have mentioned is due to a cross-culture misunderstanding. I have never received poor service, but I am also not afraid to ask for things. If I expect the same service level Id get in a American steak house, I went to the wrong place, but if I want good food, reasonable service, and an all over good time with a huge number of friends, I go here.

I consider Dynasty Chinese Seafood Restaurant (the San Jose location, on Story Road, as I have not been to the Cupertino location) to be about the best Dim Sum that one can find, even if one is willing to travel quite a distance. We will certainly continue to visit after moving 25 miles further away. They also serve excellent food at dinner. We had our wedding reception here, and Ive never heard so many volunteered compliments about the food at a wedding anywhere.

Here for a rehearsal dinner. Took my 5 yr old to the mens room which is next to the kitchen. After taking care of businesses we walked to the sink to finish. Then he asked why the man dressed in white with an apron didnt wash his hands before leaving. Couldnt really an say because the man had already walked back into the kitchen. Id say they lost a star tonight.

On the weekends, there are too little staff serving too many people. While they have a wide selection of foods, we ended up only experiencing a fraction of those options due to the small quantity available given the large room. The food itself is average and is not worth the trouble of waiting in between dishes. We would most likely not be coming here again.

Try their crab fried rice, its the bomb! :P Dimsum is great, but at multiple occasions were unable to get the items that we want, the people in carts prioritize more on the tables with more people, so not a good place to visit during Dimsum hours for smaller groups or for a date lunch.

Generally good quality food. Service can be unpredictable when they have weddings. The restaurant is so large they can host multiple weddings at the same time. Sometimes they even set up tables under the stairs for regular diners when the rest of the restaurant is taken for weddings.

My family loves coming here almost every Sunday for dim sum. Everyone eats what they like and the cost of it all isnt bad. Everyone wins. Can get crazy at times when a wedding reception is being held the same day/night. Parkings ok, depending on the time you get there.

Lousy service, guess this is what I should expect from a Chinese "dive" restaurant. But for the price, what the heck. Like someone said, if I expect a steak houses service and food quality, I am at the wrong place.

We like coming here when we want dim sum. The service is quick and the dim sum is decent. The restaurant is on the second floor. Its in a big shopping center and parking can be a nightmare on the weekends.
